  • 1:32 scared the shit out of me. I thought it was a picture at first

  • the first time i heard this version i was like "what......the.......fuck"

  • i love this version. and the one with the cello's in. and the album one. and- fuck this, i love EVERY version of this song ;)

  • For those who don't know, this is about a girl named Polly. She was kidnapped, starved and tortured with a blowtorch. I'm South African and possibly younger than the rest of you and I know that...yeah, times are changing...

  • @TheBaconbass shut up you thumb whoring cunt.

  • @TheBaconbass Shutup. Everyone knows that.

  • sexy

  • not the greatest Nirvana song :/ at least this version isnt because Nevermind´s Polly is awesome

  • @PivotMakeranimations i think he made this version cuse too many people liked the normal one

  • @Euphoria951 Kurt didnt wanted people to hate his songs

  • @PivotMakeranimations think he jus didnt want it to be like really mainstream

  • I don't know why, but this put me really nervous.

  • PLEASE CHECK MY COVER OF POLLY, THANKS! watch?v=IPSYplu_3fA

  • This version is just boring. Nothing special, few-chorded speed punk-ish song.

  • @OlympiaMusicTV Define "special", cause if this isnt, nothing is.

  • Kurt Cobain is missed terribly. Rest in Peace and respect to you!

  • Faster would have been better. xD But they made history way before they knew it,

  • this shouldve been on in utero

  • I prefer the original but this is excellent

  • Much better than the nevermind version

  • @stuvo1977 No way. This version is cool and all, but for the songs meaning, the slower version much more fitting.

  • Even tho I still love the original version of Polly, but this New Wave version is AWESOME!!!! I've played this song back over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.... @__@

  • smkat420 u are already want fight i like kurt but i dont think u know about music enough so fuck you anyway

  • fucking fasterrrrrrr

  • @misanthropicagenda1 id rather be dead than cool - kurt cobain

  • nirvana is real grunge all time what u know about grunge (d)

  • @TheAneurysm14

FAGGGGG,,,,,you dont know good music...if i knew who you were id kick your fucking ass as im sure 1000s of others would...if you dont like it dont listen to it...go bleed emo

  • yeah yeah fuckin'god!!!

  • YEAH !!!!

  • Weird, In the Nevermind version it sounds like Kurt is saying 'Cut Yourself', but In the new wave it's 'hurt yourself'

  • @GeoMcEvan he sort of mixes them up if you watch live versions

  • @GeoMcEvan vise versa xD

  • @GeoMcEvan he purposely created loads of mondegreens in his songs.

  • people think nirvana is grunge or alternative? nirvanas genre is NIRVANA DUH!!!

  • yea nirvana is punk.anyways really nice video dude!!!! :L

  • Nirvana is not grunge.

    Grunge doesn't exist.

    Grunge is commercial shit.

  • R.I.P. Kurt Cobain

  • their best song by far.

  • punk speeded , This is a way stronger than original grunge !!

     Sorry my english

  • rigberts!

  • somebody put drug in my heroin

  • a new wave something in the way would be legendary, to bad we could never here it :/

  • punkish!

and like 2 times as fast as t original!

  • whats people point to dislike a vid, if they dont like something then they shouldnt watch it....whatever, this vid is awesome!!! i love you kurt baby

  • i love this because i love dave's drumming!

  • this sucks. not new wave at all.

  • @jack00008 They weren't trying to make a new wave song, genius. It's just called that.

  • @aerocmetallica1995

based on your response, i am comparatively a genius.

  • @jack00008 You know what? I have no idea why the hell it's called (New Wave) Polly; it just is. Yes, it's not New Wave; did you really expect Nirvana to write New Wave music? Also, don't be condescending to other people on Youtube just because you feel like trolling. I won't take this any further; say what you want, but from now on, I won't respond.

  • @aerocmetallica1995

please re-read my previous reply to you.

  • @aerocmetallica1995

I trust it you know that Cobain really dug punk and new wave bands? Check out "Nobody knows I'm New Wave" by Nirvana. Is it really so strange?

  • that's a REAL song!

    I love NIRVANA!!!!

  • cooool thats fast version!

  • the acousting was better but this one's still pretty kick ass

  • muddy banks is best version of this song hands down fuck yeah ;)

  • Awesome version of this song but the original is better. Nirvana rocks!!!

  • this song is like only half as long as the original

  • @razoramon1 yeah cos its twice as fast

  • Awesome song !!

  • this version its pretty cool but i like the other one better

  • This is the song i was searching too fast too hard.

Kurt Haved a talent his talent was singing that fast without effects or that

  • @9876metallica well then u suk this version rocks

  • my favourite version is from the muddy banks

  • same

  • i want a cracker too lol

  • elle et pas gg comme ça je prefert la verssion normal

  • i think this version is better. the other one is to slow

  • best is muddy banks, he finishes screaming from his soul

  • epic song, epic band

    NIRVANA FOREVER!

  • I love both versions :D

  • this is a better version of the song in my opinion. gotta love that faster beat

  • in my opinion the slower version fits better to the lyrics.

  • yeah but still

  • いい! GOOD!

  • This sounds more like hardcore than new-wave, don't you think?

  • I think i'm the only one who preffers the other version more..

  • your not, i think this is good but this song is better played slow.

  • Yeah, agreed.

  • this is pretty good, but i like the original better, cool video

  • I like this version just as much. Speeding it up turns it into a completely different kind of song and yet it is still great.

  • i concur

  • 0:10 haha

  • This versions WAY better than the "NEVERMIND" version. Sorry, but it is. Nevermind version was WAY too slow. THIS IS TRUE NIRVANA!

  • @Tynch250 Isn't it when they played on SNL?

  • this kind of sounds like rock lobster by the B-52s.

  • this sounds a lot like punk

  • well, nirvanas main influences were old school punk bands...

  • @guitarlord247 are you sure they all love creedence too and others

  • this is the better version

  • another call song is endless nameless

  • The version on muddy banks is the best one.

  • awesome!!!

  • i like the original better but this is pretty good too

  • This is the original.

  • epic fail. no it is not.

  • Haha, yes it is.

  • no its not there are 2 versions this is the one with Dave Grohl the one on polly was recorded with their old drummer then they made another one thats faster tempo witch is this one

  • this was made 2 years before his death...

  • yeah dude they wrote this song when they made bleach but they didn't put it on the album, and back then when they did about a girl live it was faster and heavier too.

  • About a Girl was slower when it was written, not faster. Haven't you heard the versions on the box set?

  • hmm.. sorry... i was just going off a show they did in... 1988 i think it was.. its on youtube but they played about a girl pretty fast with distort on all through the song, instead of just after the solo.

  • what? stupid

  • nvm u douche bag

  • i meant my comment cuz he was talking fast you fucktards

  • nah

    dont like this version

  • lol

    nirvana rlz

    my fav band

  • sounds too fast when you heard the normal one first.

  • yea i dont like it as much

  • I like the normal one best

  • Yes!!! Great version!!!

  • its good but i lk the unplugged bettr

  • i like more the polly ofthe unplugged

  • Icesticide is great love all the different music on it.

I still like bleach way more then any of there other stuff.

  • Incesticide... Nirvana 's best stuff is there.

  • best version of polly

  • this version is awesome has a real punk feeling to it, Nirvana were really on another level, R.I.P Kurt

  • I always feel like running around hearing this version

  • me too BJA rules!

  • if you hear the unplugged version first this one just sounds dirtier and in fast forward! i like unplugged, but i can see how that could work the other way.

  • actually it sounds like the live versions of polly

  • =] I love both one's

=[ the song what it means is horrible though

    =] awesome song song

    rip Kurt Cobain 1967-1994

    love,Gaia

  • Demo > all IMO

  • hey MattNirvanaMetallica is this a sick song or wat?

  • its good, but i agree with ibuhankfacauseurnt

  • dont like this polly; original or unplugged are better

  • cuz ur a poser!

  • You are fucking stupid. Just because someone prefers an acoustic version doesn't make them a poser. You, in fact are the poser for actually thinking your opinion means shit.

  • Yes absolutely. I like both versions...

  • i agree (shawnandnickvids)

  • Really? Poser? good one! maybe cause the unplugged version is the original and tells the story better and isn't just sound? (poser?)

  • If you're being sarcastic, fuck you. If not, yes. Acoustic has the same musical value as electric guitar, though different sounds.

  • I like the version on the unplugged show the best.

  • i like the original

p.s. go to my page and sub and comment

  • =] one of my favorite songs. this song is cool, but the original is better (but the unplugged in new york is the best version to me.)

  • actually she escaped by running out of his car when he stopped for gas. kurt embelished a little bit on Polly

  • nice vid. i like the eletric version better, this is electric but its faster i think lol. but i till love studio version too.

  • Almostguy, you're such an idiot. You really don't know much about Nirvana, right?

This song is about a rape victim, a girl abducted after a punkrock concert. She was tortured with a blowtorch ( thus the lyrics 'Maybe she'd like some water to put out the blow torch. ) and razor blades. She escaped by flirting with her abductor, and while he was tanking gas she escaped.

  • i dont really like this version much it shouldve been much slower

  • love this version. i love the wishkah version too a lot more than nevermind. who knows, everyones different

  • I tink you'll like ''Polly'' on the Nevermind album then :P

  • Nevermind collected dust on the shelf, incesticide rarely left the tape player...gosh, I bet it's sitting in a box somewhere in the garage. How time flies...

  • if u guys think its just sped up then can u explain how the electric guitar, and the different drums got in there?

  • lol

    The magic of pro-tools?

  • i guess... too bad this song is on Incesticide so its not like whoever posted this vid edited it himself..

  • Right, I was joking.

  • *herself =]

And yes it is on incesticide...

I made the video, Nirvana made the song.

  • sorry, oh and.. GOOD job posting this vid. not many people knew about this version

  • Unless they've owned every nirvana album like I have :D

  • haha

  • nirvana's second album was nevermind, incesticide was the third album....

  • incesticide was like a compilation album, it wasn't really a studio album

  • you're right

  • In utero was the third album

    Incecticide and nirvana were complitations

  • um...... utero was the 4th album...

  • Comment removed

  • You were right, I never new about Incecticide. Its with the lights out that I thought was from 2000 or something. but In Utero was the third studio album, with all new songs and stuff, I never count complitation albums

  • Yah alot of the recordings on incecticide were old songs that they recorded with Chad Channings on drums.

  • no incesticide was a compilation it had downer and polly of coarse from bleach and nevermind respectively

  • you forgot hormoaning and outcesticide

  • -Slap-

  • huh?

  • I reject your reality and substitute my own

  • ok but im just saying they made outcesticide, hormoaning, and from the muddy banks of whiskah

  • I can tell the difference between reality and your substitute!!! No,you can't mr..simpson, no one can!!!

  • are you adam savage?
