The album turned out good, but It felt too abrupt. It wasn't like The Cool where the 18-19 tracks that consisted of stories flowed together like a movie plot. Lasers would have been even better if it was done like that. With full altered versions of the original leaked tracks plus the fresh content he produced following Atlantic's approval of the CD's release date. Thats just my opinion.

On a final note, I cannot wait for Food & Liquor II. I feel like he will definitely give back to the fans of his TRUE music then. Until that releases or another mixtape (Friend of the People), I'm only partially satisfied and more like a bit disappointed in how Lasers turned. But Lu warned us about these compromises and if you watched the interviews, you would've known this album wasn't going to be like the other two, in a bad way.
Lupe himself, even admits that he didn't the process that went into making this album and it really doesn't sound like he did all the way through the album. The album should have NEVER had any kind of Electropop or damn autotune and songs like Letting Go, State Run Radio, and Break the Chain should've sounded different. You could tell this album was half Atlantic, half Lupe.
So yes Lasers may be Lupe's worst album for those of us who know his TRUE music, but only because Atlantic fucked with it and he didn't have complete free reign like he did on his first two albums when the record company really wasn't paying him no attention. Maybe they thought the Cool would win him his first award in the industry and when it didn't achieve the success that they wanted, they decided to fuck Lu over on his next project.
This version sent chills down my spine. The album version sent chills for a completely different reason - it's so shit! Whole album - apart from the intro - is so terrible. Disappointed as hell.
I have pre-ordered Lasers and I hope the people who viewed this go out and buy this album when it's out. If LASERS does well in sales, Atlantic will most likely grant Lupe MORE Creative Freedom for his next album.

I kinda like this live version better because it's more quiet, which brings out a more gloomy atmosphere to this sad song. I still believe the album version is the best song on the album, but a more gloomy version on the album would be a little better.

I kinda like this live version better because it's more quiet, which brings out a more gloomy atmosphere to this sad song. I still believe the album version is the best song on the album, but a more gloomy version on the album would be a little better.
