i agree... i got some german sheopard bitches in colombia that ALWAYS get into fights with the neighbor's filas brazileros (i dont know what they are called in english) but they look like bigger pits... and my sheopard females have killed several alpha males of those mean looking pits. Yes pits have a kung fu jaw grip... but my sheopard is more agile, stronger, and angrier than any dog around... i dont know its just those to females i got.

12 guage is OK is you're using slugs, buck is too dangerous if you're hunting with dogs, and you also don't want to macerate the meat. 22 Mag will not work at all, unless you are thinking about doing head shots, and even then you might not get proper penetration. I prefer a 30 cal; usually a .308, though I have used larger 30's, and have also used the smaller 7.62x39. I prefer a semiauto for hogs, just so I can keep on target for follow up shots. I use a DPMS LRT- which is an AR-15 style rifle.
he did kill the hog in one puncture and not 5, and why would you use a gun if you had a dog on the animal? it'd be the same thing as a knife if you went up to it with a pistol (or shotgun for that matter), ecept more dangerous to your dogs
this is a great video and the reason he uses a knife is the fact of walking alot with a gun and you dont want to hit your dogs,this man is a great sportmans,fast kill and taking care of his dogs
It is great to see that you take care of your dogs, and let them heal. Out of the videos I have watched this has been the best one so far. I would love to do this and take my daughter along "tomboy" and do this type of hunt.
tomboy or not, i think its great that you would teach your daughter to hunt. im a mother of only girls and strongly feel that they should learn these skills as well all other aspects of self sufficiency.
that amazing stuff man, it's a good thing you dont want them animals to suffer either i've met people that say "just let him bleed to death". It's a horrible death especially if you think of it as being one of your dogs (a prized one). Good video man i liked it.
This is one of the best videos on hog-hunting with dogs I have watched on YouTube. In many of the other videos no effort is made to end the hog's suffering in a timely manner, which makes all us hunters look bad.

Why do you hunt with a knife? When I hog hunt I bring my 12guage with slugs. Then when my dog gets a hog i shoot it on the head.
