  • If the wonwingwonder is a model & is really in the air, how do you explain the aerodynamic contradictions? Oddly, I've cut wings off little gliders that spiralled into the remaining wing. How can a stalled wing have less lift than a nonexisting one? Why is it so antiresponsive? Even if it is a model, it could be real(unexplained) aerodynamics.

  • Its fake because when the right wing is not there the left wing is the only one supporting/ giving lift which would cause it to spin uncontrolably and you would have no aleiron control what so ever ITS FAKE

  • Some chess teacher from Arizona sent me this link from another video saying it was real. This is what is wrong with schools, the teachers are idiots, so the students walk out just as screwed up. They'll believe anything.

  • LOL!!!

    ITS CLEAERLY ANIMATED!!!!

Camera's shaking makes it looks like its real.....

  • Nice animation!

  • No plane can bounce like that.

  • You have to be a 100% fool to think this is real. if you have eye balls you should know its fake.

  • Search for "Making-Of the Killa Thrill 'One Wing Landing' Viral Video"

  • This manuever (minus landing) is part of a standard airshow stunt performance. This stunt is a balance of prop thrust and prop-wash induced lift over the rudder. Is the landing in this vid real? The physics are entirely possible. I have a lot of questions (why wing failure at low-load? Aeleron linkage destruction from lost wing? etc.) but cannot say "fake" w/out knowing a lot more.

  • @Nameunavailabletoday All well and good but unless you can give me the physics on how a plane's paint job changes between flight and landing then i'm going to have to say it's fake.

  • I guess this landing was faked also? >>> Gh52tyilpr4

  • rc plane with cuts to real plane.different graphics on planes

    for stunts see

rc stunt plane, helicopter and jet do tricks and crash

  • my housemate just showed me this, and he said it had to be real...

ive done VFX and he still didn't believe me...

And theres no way its slow down anywhere near that much, even a noob can tell its fake...

  • @Spinobreaker this seems fake, but even more incredible broken wing landings have happened for real

  • Holy crap, they say in the video this is animated, and the physics of this crash are completely wrong, yet people are STILL convinced his is real?

I am worried about our country

  • hey morons.... at point 2:36 of the video it says it's not an actual pilot landing a real plane. Geezzzzz

  • The aircraft is likely an R/C 1/3 scale model. These are available for sale pre built, and ready to fly. It has a design flaw with the spar structure, and is prone to this. The model is light enough, and powerful enough for a competent pilot to land it like that. It bounced like a model.

  • Making-Of the Killa Thrill 'One Wing Landing' Viral Video

    /watch?v=naSZBdJoEbM

  • yeah im just gonna point this out since no one else has but you'd think when that plane hit the ground on landing tha wheels would snap under the pressure

  • It's a fake. It's not animated, but is a stunt plane. very cheeky!

  • ... James Andersson? ( Red Bull Air Race pilot )

  • As fake as Pamela Anderson's tits but it still looks cool.

  • fake :)

  • the show "is it real" brakes this down. It's a model plane at the end. White trim is on the real plane, not on the end plane.

  • animated...how do some people think thats real...dumbasses

  • you wasted time of your life to proove this obvious shit? :P

they made it spin wrong direction related to the wing that was gone. Completely noobs.

  • @twohandtap Nah, the spin is right, the rest of it sucks tho.

  • @larsjake The spin is wrong man. Lift of the remaining wing should push the aircraft the other way :)

  • Could the airlines save money if their planes also were intentionally designed to fly perfectly well with only one wing?

  • this is not the time when a pilot landed with one wing on F15, this is some thing els..

  • look at the paint!!!.. the white is refexing tape..!!!. the shape it is all the same from the nose to the tail and the sid view... and the landing gear intact.. end it by FINDING THE PIOLT!! and flex of something not supposed to flex.. thats a pat of the back on the design.. and head movement on the landing.. his shoes his story soo you stay calm and movable when your looking at something that could cause you death... AMAZING! is right.. but hey buddy .. I'm jaded to... nice voice....

  • Its fake because it was on is it true on the discovery chanel and proved it fake

  • There are many things that make the aircraft that actualy lands real. First off, the entire tail swivels on a real Extra 260, Not so on RC's. The plane landing, does not move in the jerky motion of RC's. As for being able to stop so fast, The plane was not moving fast enough to fly if it had 2 wings. An Extra 260 can almost hover like a hellicopter. If you listen he is full throtle before landing bleeding off as much speed as possible. Rc in first part staged. landing plane could be digital.

  • I used to fly aerobatics. The plane in the video is an Extra 260. And this guy is wrong on several counts. There have been many succesful one wing landings. The flight cotrol systems on this and all aerobatic aircraft Are linked only thru the joystic. he is right that the plane on the ground is real and the one in the air is RC. The wing break off was staged. While the plane is stiil in the air, The last time it leaves frame and comes back thats when switch is made. But it is still in the air.

  • lol iam a animater and expert on cgis. as soon as i saw this video i was bored cuz of the lazy work on the cgi itself. it was just soo unnatural and people believed that sh"".

  • Yeah this is obviously fake, but I've seen RC planes of similar design land sucessfully after losing a wing. Of course, we're talking about an entirely different set of circumstances with an RC plane, and it take an amazingly skilled and cool-headed RC pilot to pull it off. Still, it's a cool thing to see when you're sure that a $2000 plane is going to pancake, but the pilot pulls it out at the last second.

  • It is all fake!!!! look at the picture of the plane in the beginning of the movie, take a picture of it with your mobile and then look at the end, the nose of the plane looses a stripe. and again at the end they switch plane when the screen gets unclear,

  • don't anyone see that the plane spin to the wrong way at 0:22

the wing with lift should go up

    this is fake

  • [sarcasm] Hoax?!

    This is real!

And if this was fake, big rigs would be a bad game [/sarcasm]

  • i just seen this opps tv on sky one you could see it was fake.

  • The easiest way to tell it's fake is not even the livery that changes but the fact that when it lands the camera suddenly begins to travel alongside the aircraft at a similar speed gives away that it's a rendering. For the real shit:

    watch?v=AJ76BSassms&feature=related

(N.B. I'm NOT bigging up the Israeli Airforce - far from it in fact. Israel is an impostor country I don't recognize and I boycott all their produce)

  • @warlock242 no one cares

  • FAKE WHO AGREE

  • It's been proven in a tv program that it's possible to do this. And the plane really looses it's wing, but the landing is a RC plane cuttet into the video :)

  • the should spin the other way round, losing its right wing makes it losing lift on the right side, so it should spin to the right, not the left

  • Well, the biggest clue is the Left wing. Early video shows no lettering on it and then just before it lands it has the Killa deal on it.

  • good work disproving this - the farce was not too ambitious

  • And plus what PLANE can land in that short of a distance with such speed, and only bounce once?

  • and i dont think rc planes are able to break the laws of physics any more than a real plane

  • Why not , Real helicopters can not fly upside down only inches off the ground ,... r/c ones Can.

  • that isnt breaking the laws of physics

  • For all you guys that thinks its CGI, stop watching movies.

Its a real plane then a rc plane that is NEARLY the same MARKINGS was edited into this video.

Look at the Tail stripes, the white stripe on top of cowl and overall, the whole lower cowl is totally different then the real one.

    CGI, no! Movie editor Yes!

  • it is not cgi it is a model airplane spliced in mid video

  • Haha, of course it's fake. Just watch the CGI

  • big hoax? a rat can see this is animated

  • ummm except its not.... its r/c

  • @leviterande a rat may see such things; but the video explains it's two separate airplanes. There are in fact stunt planes designed to fly on one wing, and highly powered enough to fly hanging from the prop.

  • Thanks for explaining because I thought it was real. Someone tell MSN videos that is a fake!

  • this was an idiot proof guide for the idiots

and you obviously were too stupid to get that

  • this is so dumb. the RC pilot is on here, witch i saw before this. but even if i dident i would like to think that i would have spoted this a phoney. fooled my dad though. i kinda felt bad for him. but watching hundreds opon hundreds of vids in order for me to spot a phoney is nothing to be proud of. nor my spelling

  • The plane spinned to side of the remaining wing?

  • Comment removed

  • OMFG, how the hell can anyone believe this ever looked real!!! I feel sorry for the poor voice over guy who feels he has explain the footage!!!

  • Any actual pilot viewing this knows it's fake. Here's why. After supposedly losing its wing, the airplane enters a spin. A spin occurs when one wing is more stalled than the other. The least stalled wing will be on the outside of the rotation. In this case the "right" (starboard) wing would have to be generating more lift than the left (remaining) wing. Therefore, it is impossible for the plane to be rotating the way it is unless it actually still has a starboard wing.

    XB70Playboy, CFIi

  • i knew it was fake the first time i saw it

actually i had replayed it and realized it seemed really fake

you can tell by the shine its computer animation and no camera blurs in and out that much they did blur to simulate really amatures but it just looks fake

  • it is a fake, but not from pro7!!! It is publicity for "killathrill"!!

It is am modelplan of a friend from me!

it is publicity for the company "killathrill" (lokk at the wings!)!

    more details about the modelplane:

    powermodellbau (.) de/glies2/html

  • You are all mistaken ! This is a squale aircraft flown by a US pilot called Bill Hempel. Google or youtube it and you'll see by yourself the "true" videos. This is almost real (the part when the plane goes gently toward the ground). In the reality, Bill lands the plane on the side, and breaks the propeller, and that's all.

The video is called "bill hempel flies with one wing!" ... trust what you want ...

  • You must understand that even with full rudder you don´can get lift from an unexistent wing to couteract te full lift from the remaining other !!!

  • of course you get some lift, but not from the remaining wing ! If you get some lift from the powerful engine, that's all ...

How do you think some planes (Sukhoi Su-31, Edge 540 just to name a few) can fly vertical like an helicopter? In these cases, the wings help just for stability and controls, and obviously not for any kind of lift !

Just have a look at the video I said, look at it mate, you'll see way better than any writen explanation ...

  • They even created a unknown race pilot!! The created a person who does not exist..To make this race pilot believable, they created a website with all the details of this pilot..!

Funny but these guys put alot of hard work into it! Their work paid off cause many people believed in it and their "virus" was a success!!!

  • It was proven to be a fake on german tv :Galileo on Prosieben. If I understand correctly it was a group of german directors(maybe some others as well) whose goal was to make a fake that seemed unbelievable but with some tricks they made it look real...The called it the "virus effect" cause the video spread like a virus. They made it look real but at the end (landing) they made it look fake so that people would comment on it: if its fake or not. They didn't want to make it too real...;)

  • The fake is an RC Plane.

  • Excelent explanation. "Almost" a good fake.

  • it's a fake they show it on pro 7

but its amazing and a very good fake

  • it's a pro7 fake

  • hahahaha its a fake of pro7 a german tv program

  • hey everyone guess what! it's not fake XD

well it is and its not :P it is fake cuz it's

a mini airplane (not bigger than 2 meters)

and it has no pilot in it :)

but its not fake cuz it's not made with computer

(even if it looks like it...)

only the ending was made with computer :P

  • leiliaeli: You are a total idiot. Why are you poluting the internet with your pointless shite?

    It's not fake/it is fake

Not made with computer/made with computer.

What a total tool you are!

Is it a full-sized, manned aeroplane landing on one wing as was claimed?

    NO, therefore FAKE.

  • prooo7 faake of galileo

  • Fake of Pro7 Television.......but i love this fake.....funny to see

  • Prosieben fake

  • i dont think someone to explain its fake

  • yeah right, you just don't know what you're talking about

  • If you've watched as many Sci-Fi movies as I have, you can tell the difference between a CGI object and a real object. This looks pretty CGI to me.

  • Props to the editor who made the original fake video. Just think the amount of time it took to edit this.

  • inachu: Hey! I'd do it for NO 'props' if I was getting paid to do it for an advert, which is what it is.

  • lolololol

  • Yeah right, you just don't know what you're talking about

  • is this guy serious

  • you've got to be an idiot to not see that was CG.

  • OBVIOUSLY it was fake.. -__-'

  • Anyone who has a bit of knowledge in aviation could easily tell that this is a hoax. I would've known right away.

  • Any one at all should be able to tell those graphics cant fool

  • The landing sequence is the final nail in the coffin for this vid.. the way it falls neatly and bouces softly onto the ground isnt very convincing.

  • you mean someone actually thought that was a real video. i doubt it.

  • umm yea

i think we all knew it

  • Actually, a lot of people did. Such widespread acceptance is of course only possible due to widespread ignorance of basic physical laws.

  • Nice video!

    Here are another couple:

    /watch?v=qvBep7-gi5s

    /watch?v=J72y_qFV2oc

  • I seriously hope you didn't spend too much time debunking this video. But Good job, you even caught a few things I didn't see, but I only watched it twice and could see it was total BS.

  • It's a viral ad campaign from Killatrill. It is along the lines of the viral ad campaigns of Sprite Zero when the wind surfer gets picked up by the landing passenger jet.

  • Its just CGI. You can see when it goes from real to CGI (if it ever was real footage in the first place) when the video goes out of focus.

However, there is a video of just this exact thing happening, in real life. It's of a model plane, and yes, it has a prop strike, wing strike, and is barely maneuverable, but it will fly again.

  • so my guess is, its a model untill its taxing on the ground then its a regular plane.

  • im glad someone took the time to explan this to all the "untrained" eyes...
