There might be very certain special cases where someone might need the shot (I don't know, im not a doctor)
but what I DO know for sure now is that the risk of being damaged by the ingredients in the vaccine to cause long term health problems to random organs is FAR greater of a risk then being damaged from H1N1 flu.

First of all, vaccines do not contain free mercury.
Second, the thimerosal contained in vaccines is not dangerous. It breaks down into ethyl mercury, which is not the same as methyl mercury. Ethyl mercury does not bioaccumulate, and it is rapidly excreted from the body. It's half life is dramatically shorter. Basically, it has not been shown to cause harm, it's present in microscoping amounts as a metabolite of thimerosal, and it leaves the body very quickly.

but what I DO know for sure now is that the risk of being damaged by the ingredients in the vaccine to cause long term health problems to random organs is FAR greater of a risk then being damaged from H1N1 flu.

I will agree that there is a conflict of interest.
However, the anti-vaccine nuts fail to understand the difference between ethylmercury, methylmercury, and elemental mercury. They also fail to understand dosage. Lastly, they are freaked out by DISEASE in vaccines, not realizing how vaccines function (basic biological facts).

First of all, vaccines do not contain free mercury.
Second, the thimerosal contained in vaccines is not dangerous. It breaks down into ethyl mercury, which is not the same as methyl mercury. Ethyl mercury does not bioaccumulate, and it is rapidly excreted from the body. It's half life is dramatically shorter. Basically, it has not been shown to cause harm, it's present in microscoping amounts as a metabolite of thimerosal, and it leaves the body very quickly.

Have you or your family tried Vitamin D3, C, or any of the natural antiphlogistics that successfully help maintain the immune system? Natural antiphlogistics include staying fit and getting regular sunshine to make your own D3.
Since they're sick now, give them some colloidal silver to kill those nasty viruses. Noone has to make the drug companies rich to stay healthy. Healing thoughts.

I wouldn't be quite so quick to credit your personal good health on the vaccine. Perhaps your immune system is just naturally strong.
I haven't had any flu shots of any description for 6yrs. now and I don't get the flu. When I used to get the shots, I'd still get the flu every winter.
My heart and prayers truly go out to you and your family. A good friend of mine also came down with the H1N1 virus and were very sick. Although it was a long recovery, she has recovered.

Evidence points towards Vitamin D3 deficiency as a contirbuting factor in most autoimmune related diseases including Sjorgren's Syndrome. It also has been shown not only to regulate but also boost your immune reponse. You might want to research into this.

I would take the CDC's word over Jim Carey and McCarthy. Since the restrictions in 1999 of thimerosal eight studies show no decline in autism rates.

It's most likely the second one, "a pharmaceutical industry deception for profit". It's very typical corporate behaviour to capitalize on opportunities to exploit vulnerabilities for self-gain - vulnerabilities like peoples' tendencies to place their trust in authority figures rather than in their own common sense.

And to correct you: the "burden of proof" lies with all theories, not just the "less accepted" one. Indeed, any theory is open to disproving at any time. Apparently, the theory that the H1N1 vaccine is safe and effective is in dispute.

To correct you, no. The less accepted within conventional knowledge a claim, the heavier the burden of proof lies on the person asserting the claim. This is also why scientists tend to accept the "big bang theory" over the "universe grew in the armpit of an infinitely massive lemur theory".
But let us clarify your position first. You're against vaccines in general or the H1N1 in particular?

Your reasoning is flawed. The latter theory you spoke of isn't acceptable because there is absolutely no evidence supporting it. Here, a very different situation is under scrutiny.
With regard to your correction: it would appear that your stance subtly changed from one comment to the next—first, you postulated that the "burden of proof" lay just with the less accepted of two theories (with which I disagreed), and then you stated that what acually rests with it is a "heavier" burden.

Aside from that contretemps, I'm afraid I must disagree with you further: as general acceptance does not indicate emperical evidence of any sort, conventional knowledge is not affixed with a less-heavy burden of proof than any other. A theory ought to be favoured because of an irrefutable body of supporting evidence, and not because of general acceptance, which is but mere hearsay. Suffice it to say, acceptance does not prove correctness.

You ARE correct in that acceptance does not prove correctness.
But that's not what the burden of proof is. A theory that is accepted after decades of empirical evidence does not share the same burden as one that is relatively new, contrary, and undemonstrable.
And I still need clarification. Are you against the H1N1 vaccine or vaccines in general, because those are two different arguments.

Let's move on. I've yet to experience satisfactory evidence to conclude that the H1N1 vaccine is required in any way whatsoever—but enough to suggest and perhaps conclude intuitively that it most certainly isn't.

Flu-shots are merely quick-fix remedies, and in most cases, address only a symptom stemming from a greater problem. Healthy, balanced living will prevent disease. If one is healthy, there's no reason why his immune system shouldn't be able to prevent and defeat infection before serious problems occur.
