Seen them live last Thursday at the Edinburgh Playhouse; this song was included. Brilliant band, with a brilliant range of songs...some old, some new...

I'd advise anyone that can go and see them live to do so.

this band are world class. They are so much more than 500 miles. Whole Wide World is a good example. And they are better live than Elton John

Yeah, but 500 Miles is a decent song and it is their song. Whole Wide World is one of the greatest songs of all time but it is Wreckless Eric's.

The competition being the Monkeys? I just find it odd how you cut the Proclaimers own original music down and say they are way better then that stuff because of a cover. Bands first and foremost are judged by the original music they create.
