today players likes good graphic and poor play, this is a truth. game like this are goods game for good player that can look over the exterior aspect. i 'm not surprised to see idiot rewievon this. same people give incredible quotations to games like resident evil 5 ( very poor game with beautiful graphic ). samurai showdown rocks, and the people that don't like it, can back to play 95pts reviewed games ;)

I think that this is very good game. Lets keep in mind a few things: 1) this is snkp first real 3d fighter. (and yes is really is). 2) It plays about as well as tekken 5 complete with parry's, combos and reversals -and a few new twists both offensively and defensively. and 3) and this is why the idiots who dis it hate it -its not easy to play and getting good at it will take some time - certainly not as easy or automatic as tekken 6 which has been terribly dumbed down to appease the brain dead

@ivelleo LOL. compare this to tekken 6? you gotta be kidding. ill pretend you were kidding. this SS is one of the most horrid 3D fighters ive ever played and its completely automatic - all you have to do is smash buttons. can you actually perform long, technical combos in real 3D fighters? this game doesnt even have things that could be considered combos.

Of course its gunna be heavy slash based with short ass matches because THEY ARE DICING THE FUCK OUT OF EACH OTHER WITH BLADES AND SPEARS. Im still waiting for the day when theres a sword fighting game with matches that end the second someone is slashed, cause' it truly WOULD be over if that happened. It makes it intense I think, why cant you see that??

I agree with some of what you said. There is already a game that similates semi-realistic Samurai Battles. It is called Bushido Blade. You can cripple your opponent and if I remember correctly, if you slash the opponent just hte right way, you could end a match in One slash. You should look it up, pretty good game. Never played the sequel though.

this game fuckin' rocks, it haz almost same controls like tekken6 , only a bit stiff, but just a bit, not too much.

once u get used to them it's a really great game with lots of combos.

@linon3000 It has supers, it has Issen from SS64, and of course you can chop people's heads off. All the ignorant that say this game sucks are full of crap, and probably didn't even get past the 3rd stage of story mode.

@linon3000 you have, an unblockable attack, a super attack when u charge up, and a desperation slash kinda like the sam sho 4 A+B+C attack after you charge up, only it's qcf+A&B that drains 3 quarters of the opponent's life bar.

Terrible graphics. Stiff gameplay. Plain, drab background stages. Jaggy animation. So sad. Had high hopes for this. They should have made it with graphics like "Blazblue" instead. If it had to be 3-D, at least make it as good as Soul Calibur IV; as far as weapon based fighting games go.
