American McGee's Alice looks more like the original than the movie will. Nothing can beat that game, save for an exact remake but with updated graphics and a better game engine. Other than that, it'll be good as it gets.
Though I do know that already with Disney involved...I'm not going to even bother watching it, they fuck everything up that's epic and I doubt they'll ever touch McGee's alice.

I too have concerns when a movie is made of a book I like. But if your a fan of a book-- seeing it on the big screen is enjoyable, even if it's for laughs and critiques. I doubt the movie will "ruin" Alice in Wonderland, as the original book still exists for reading pleasure. Besides, many Alice movie renditions have been made prior.
It sort of reminds me of "Return to Oz" (one of my favorite movies) or "Hook," in how it continues the story, as opposed to just re-telling it. Can't wait to see it! :-D

wow very interesting. Nice to know that Johnny depp is another one of Burton's films and goes well with Helena bonham Carter. They're a good pair. Didn't know her parnter is Tim Burton. It's wierd how Anne hathaway has got a part of the white queen. She's a young star playing and elder character which I would think would click. The rest of the cast seem to be a well put group seeing that Alan Rickman plays a role too. I can't wait for this one. This is all just my opinion.

Johnny Depp is good at playing weird loony characters that are soooo good to watch.
This suits with him well XD.
Helena Bonhams Carter's bigheaded Red Queen also should be good. I love those two actors. Theyre brilliant. And with Tim Burton they make a wonderful team. Only Danny Elfman is missing this time.

I can't wait to see it, but I think disney shouldn't have let Tim Burton make the movie. I think he one of the best, but look at Johnny Depp! the kids will poop their pants!

Even the cartoon was rather creepy. I remember only watching it once as a child or fast forwarding to the Cheshire Cat because the rest would scare me.
Hell, it scared my mother, that's why she purchased it when I was little.

lol well i know a lot of ppl r wondering where his inspiration came from of this film and wat i would like to say is i believe a big inspiration to him might have been the series The Looking Glass Wars! ive read all the books (except the one which has not come out yet) and it seems quite similar to Burton's story line. Though this might not be true i do believe it is.

I couldnt agree more. Its just a movie. I mean it looks cool and Ill totally watch it when it comes out, but fuck, settle down people. and as far as you saying 'its like a baby'. Get a grip. Come on. Theres just one thing. Its NOT a baby. Its a movie. and just for the sake of argument, lets say it WAS a breathing, crying, pooping baby... its not YOUR baby. Im all for being a fan or really getting into something, but I dont understand when people go off the deep end. It is, in fact, just a movie.

you know you should not be constant downer all the time it really takes a toll on the soul. If ppl (which i am one of them) want to get all hyped up about a movie why not let them? I mean its not hurting anyone is it? i think not. ppl should be able to express their excitement freely without being squashed upon by ppl such as yourself. let ppl dream, and wait, and scream, and get jubilant about "just a movie" if they want to. half the fun of the movie is the hype and excitement

And everyone is getting all up in arms and arguing back and forth like its so fucking important? who cares? I never claimed that alice is my baby, can you re-read please? Can't you take a metaphor? I never said a movie was living and breathing. I meant baby as in you love it, carry it out for 9 months, work hard into it, and when its finally done, you set it out into the world of cinema.

Only losers swear to try and intimidate others, and they use that language to try and intimidate others, but it really just makes them seem like someone who can't properly insult a person they are displeased with, which I think makes them seem rather intellectually challenged. Again, just one simple person's opinion, and I suppose not really to be taken all that seriously. I was hoping you would sense my sarcasm. I did go a tad overboard on the idiotic mannerisms; I have somewhat of an "odd" sense of humor, I suppose.
In all seriousness, it's established that Tim Burton is one of the absolute greatest directors of the twentieth century and Johnny Depp is one of the best actors. I, of course, cannot wait to see this movie and just completely absorb it.
Oh, and Michael Bay is a hack, but that's stating the obvious.

wow very interesting. Nice to know that Johnny depp is another one of Burton's films and goes well with Helena bonham Carter. They're a good pair. Didn't know her parnter is Tim Burton. It's wierd how Anne hathaway has got a part of the white queen. She's a young star playing and elder character which I would think would click. The rest of the cast seem to be a well put group seeing that Alan Rickman plays a role too. I can't wait for this one. This is all just my opinion.

Actually, he wasn't a stoner at all.
He was on medication and the stories he told weren't influenced at all by the medication. He told them to his daughters as teatime stories to entertain them. The hookah that the caterpillar holds is nothing more than a giant cigarette, and a very common way to smoke in his time. Take the time to read his biography sometime before you call him a stoner.
