  • I think its actually better if you start with a one hour jogging so you wouldnt have to worry about increasing the amount of time every week.

  • So how does one "jog slowly"? What does that mean?

  • @IrisMG A bit faster than fast walking

  • @PENGUINKING10O0 Oh ok, thanks!

  • 1:58, some creepy sound

  • The best way to begin is to make it with intervals, for ex: 3 mins walking/5 mins jogging, and do it repeatedly, and every day you try to run more and walk less. Anyway, if you ever feel you're getting exhausted just start walking to recover, that's not good, that's not sport, it's just suffering. No begginer can start with 20 mins...and if the muscles on your legs, knees and hips don't get used to it gradually you can get seriously injured.

  • @910tobe That makes sense!

  • @laputadetumadre11 You don't have to be fat, even physically fit people can get injured from jogging for 20 minutes without proper care and attention. For someone who has never exercised and who hasn't done any form of exercise in years would not be able to jog for 20 minutes without hurting themselves. starting off slow, such as walking so your body can build the strength it needs. then you add jogging. not a straight jogging for 20 mins because that would do more harm than good.

  • @laputadetumadre11 It's funny how you can judge someone just because of them "being out of shape" researching has no factor on a person. What i suggested was better advice from my own research. Running 20 mins would seriously injure yourself if you haven't even walked a few miles. So please before you judge someone you don't even know factor in all the facts before you post a comment trying to be cleaver. Thanks.

  • he said easy jogging he didnt say easy running

  • The only good advice he gave was going to a specialist for the running shoes. IF you have never ran before and your just totally out of shape start with walking. once you have got moving and motivated with your walks, add 1-2 minutes of jogging into your walks, then as each day passes, keep adding 1 minute, if your feeling a strain dont increase the minutes untill your body has adjusted. For me, i have been out of shape for over 6 years, so my body definitely need time to adjust.

  • Thank you , Certain aspects of this video was helpful. I started walking 3 x's a week. Then increased to brisk walking. Then progressed into incorporating small jogging intervals. with those intervals I would jogging at a reasonable distance and slow back to brisk walking, and repeat this through out my walking. Eventually I gain more distance and jogging at greater distances.

  • When I started running, I could'nt jog for 2 minutes, let alone 20!!!!

  • I'm a big guy.. I enjoy running and fitness I'm hoping to become a prison guard if not that I'll be joining marines.. I struggle with self motivation so I normally attend boxing/fitness sessions with friend that are a lot fitter then I am cause for me that make me work hard and put more effort in but I need tips to help get mysself motivated without friends... =)

  • 20 mins jogging on the first day? are you actually insane?

  • This guy is PARADE gay.

  • + try running at least 80 bpm, ideally marathoners run about 90-96. I Would suggest to stick to the program below till you reach about 5 km distance, just be patient and do not run more even if you feel you can. Thanx for reading this ;)

  • Well ,if you're just starting running after a break or whatever.. start running from 500m gradually increasing your mileage by 250 m. each or every second day, a very important moment is to warm up by walking at least 10 minutes and do an easy stretch before the run. The pattern would be like this 500-750-1000-750-1000-1250 etc.If you have no posibilities to count the mileage you can run by minutes, according to the example above it would be smth like this:5-7-10-7-10-12-10 etc.have a good run

  • @dailydoseofmeh i don't know but for real, if the person a beginner they should be doing interval training for example, 2mins of jogging then 1 min of walking times four sets. Then build up from that instead of doing all 20mins because when I was a beginner, i started off doing 30mins straight and I ended up hurting my knee and had bad running form.

  • @spinal2650

That is a fucking great idea! Good on ya mate!

  • He is kenyan i love kenya there is some really good athletes there!!!

  • this is so messed up. How the heck are you going to tell a fat man to run for 20 mins as a beginner? lol yo the fat man will kill his knees by doing this and lose all motivation for running. LMAO 20.... the fuck.

  • @spinal2650 I thought that. 20 minutes at an average speed is damn near two miles!

  • Bunch of morons and wimps here.

  • 2 mins on (running)

    2 mins off (walking)

  • i do like to run 20 minutes, on your face yea

  • 20 bucks he's kenyan.

  • 20 minutes? somebody who's out of shape and never ran, 20 minutes jogging is impossible lol

  • @lola2050

I second that. I am in really good shape and strong to. But I cannot run for 2 minutes straight yet. I am doing that couch to 5k training progran and I am starting with 1 minute jogging and 90 sec walking for 20 minutes each day.

If I was to run for 20 minutes I would get shin splints right off the bat.

  • @markb16a thats what i did, run for 20 min., 3rd day, shin splints lol

  • @lola2050 lol no.. 20 minutes is nothing(if u dont weigh like 340lbs) just take it slow :)

  • I just ran about 10 mins and felt like i'd nearly died and i ride 10 miles a day at fast pace to work so am not that unfit this is pure bullshit.

  • i could barely run 5 minutes yet... 20 minutes is totally out of the question.

  • cmon guys, he says easy slow jogging for 20 min, u could even jog at walking pace

  • 20 minutes is to much for a begginer a begginner shold rn for about 10mins the most and whe they get used to it go that little bit faster 20 mins for someone who hasnt run before they could strain there muscels and that can be dangerouse

  • A total beginner cant run 20 minutes man!!

  • Comment removed

  • These are great running tips for beginners. For those who think his workouts are too long, then just minimize them to what you can do. You don't have to follow exactly what he says! Everybody starts out differently so find your base and just build on it.

  • 20 minutes for a beginner?? that's way to much! A beginner can be a person that has never done any kind of exercise, they may not even last a full minute! Just start by walking at a higher speed, once you get comfortable introduce 1min of light jogging per every 10 min of walking, again once it gets comfortable start building up slowly by increasing the running and decreasing the walking time. Consider getting a Polar heart rate monitor

  • look i'm in pretty good shape right now. i just can't see why anyone would want to run that much. if i run for 30 min every other day i get slower and my legs always feel sore. what's the motivation for running so much a week?

  • its good to do jogging but i think you should do sum weights justs small amounts

  • how doesnt know how to run -.-

  • man niggah ur dumb as hell....shit bored me to death...dont even want to run now fuck!!!

  • @N0BrainProduct the more you talk, the dumber you become... shut your mouth, open your eyes, take a deep breath and mimic a bit of intelligence, instead!

  • anyone else notice this guy does not look that healthy

  • This guy is a fruitcake!

  • On the days you're not doing light jogging, train in kilometers so you get a feel for distance. Do fartlek runs, intervals, and sprints.

  • fuck your wife for 100 times per day and then u will be fit enough for the olympic games lol

  • When you run, you shud measure your running in miles, not time,,,,

  • if ur a new to getting in shape there is no such thing as "easy, slow jogging", some ppl can't even WALK for 20 min let alone JOG for 20 min!! U should jog for as long as u can, then alternate walking and jogging... this is unrealistic!!

  • @Que79 safe... tried 20 mins and basically collapsed after 5 or 6 lul

  • @KaneBadman1994 RIGHT!!! lmao..

  • @Que79 yo when i first started working out i ran on the treadmill for 7 minutes and then spent 15 minutes scaring people away from the gym because i was dry heaving in front of the door!lol

  • 20 minutes! Hell, C25K has you run for 60 seconds! 20 minutes seems unrealistic for people who have never run.

  • this guy is unrealistic, beginners shouldnt push themselves to run for 20 minutes right off the bat, you're better off running 10 mins, then walking for a bit, then running 10 mins. or 4 lots of 5 mins, either way, don't feel bad if you cant acheive that right away, just push your body as far as it will go and it will shape up on its own and you will be less likely to give up!

  • Was that Lake Merrit Oakland?

  • 1.57

the sound of children getting butt fucked

  • Sweet. I got this!!!

  • running 20 minutes for a beginner? I wish!!! i have just started and can last 40 seconds at a time. havent run in 15 years though........

  • running barefoot is heathier, safer, and cheaper

  • 20 minutes...i can't run a city block

  • fuck i dont wana run :*(

  • If you've never had a running program before it can be a little intimidating. Ease into a little and get some basic runs under your belt. Then as you build confidence, start adding more specific types of workouts, 1 customized workout a week to start is enough. From there you can build to 2 and eventually 3 customized workouts a week. Enjoy the process!

Coach Ken at 5 Speed Running Coach

  • i need help! lol im already skinny im not interested in loosing weight whatsoever i just want more energy and i hear its a good mood elevator...... soooo does running absolutely mean im gonna loose weight? =\

  • @tereisagainstyou nope. i see chubby guys running all the time and they never lose weight.

  • Thumbs down for the advertisement at the start and the stupid advice for a beginner to start running at 20 mins....crap....going to search for a decent video.....................

  • i do 2 hours every day lol im 13

  • @adams63 god i wish i was you. how did you become so great?

  • @gmvillian lol im probz like usain bolt gifted

  • I wish they would stop trying to sell us crap!!!

  • dont run for too long if you just wanna burn fat do 1 minute walk and then 1 minute sprint as fast ass you can dont run too much or youll look skinny and ugly ass fuck like this guy no offence

  • you sound gay

  • 20 minutes for a complete beginner? Are you kidding me? What is it about this expert village advice. It's ALL just so NOT very "expert"

  • hmm I guess I did it wrong...20 miles of hard fast running with a weight vest then limp the 20 back and curl in to the fetal position shaking and vomiting for about a day in a half and repeat every day at 430 am till you get used to it.... it works but unless you got some serious will power and a lot of spare time to lay in a bed till you get used to it, Id recommend this way.

  • Two questions: 1. Why are there captions? This guy speaks clear and concise English.

    2. Why does he feel the need to explain what "every other day means" by counting off the days? I mean if you can't figure out what every other day means, you don't need to be running anywhere...you need to be home playing with your imaginary friends.

  • can I make it 10-15 minutes per day??

  • @karlferrer7 Ofcourse you can. You can make it anything you like. I made it 5 minutes.

  • I ran 20 minutes, but had to take a minute break after 5 minutes. Then i ran 5 minutes, break, then the other 10. 20 minutes straight is crazy for someone who hasn't run in years. Last time i ran was more than 10 years ago.

What's worse i run on hilly terrain, that makes it even worse!

  • Running 20 minutes is nathing, shut up girls

  • @EstebanPaezchannel lmbo. a couch potato can barely walk for 20 minutes without getting winded. breathing is learned. i doubt a couch potato knows how to breath during exercise...unless he's a former athlete.

  • @SParkApCider lmao. A athlete can barely sit for 20 minutes without getting tired. Laziness is learned. I doubt an athlete knows how to be lazy during sitting periods... unless he's a former coach potato.

  • Wtf?->sound?

  • I was told 5 minutes is a good way for someone who has not ran in a year or more. And do that everyother day for 2 weeks, and go up from there.

  • maybe this is a program for people who are in relatively not obese shape. shit.

  • if your a runner you gotta lift weights or you're gonna end up dead somewhere

  • @zippo7224 so true. you need a strong core and quads.

  • im sorry, is he gay?

  • @BboyFreaxxx yes

  • the best way for a person to build up to running a lot is to simply walk and/or jog till they drop, every other day. I got Epstein-Barr virus a year and a half ago and the symptoms (low energy, pain, etc...) persisted till four months ago. I gained 35 pounds and my press dropped from 250 to 150 pounds. To start or restart running, just walk and jog till your legs refuse to carry on. Rest, and do it again. Rinse and repeat. Now I can run two miles without resting or walking. Anyone can do this.

  • @10Extra01 I agree, fuck moderation just go for it. I've been doing it a couple of weeks and already I can run 5% faster and 50% longer

thats how people have been surviving for centuries, the body adapts you just gotta force it

  • @finbomartini true. you do have to push yourself. i was surveying some of the 'couch to 5k' runners here on YT and some aren't progressing...they simply won't push themselves.

  • @finbomartini So if I hold my dick in longer, I would last longer? that makes sense.

  • i recommend you should run for 3 mins, sit down, have a nice smoke, then do another minute, get yourself a tasty cheese burger (extra lettuce, we're being healthy) have another relaxing smoke, a brisk 2min walk to finish, then go home eat everything in your fridge and cry because you're fat and lonely.

  • @Telfer81 It didn't work lol

  • @Telfer81

    your sarcasm amuses me (^_^)

  • @Telfer81 hahahaahaha

  • @Telfer81 NOTE:smoke a black

  • @Telfer81 hahahha LMAO u killed me ma jaws are hurting!!

  • @Telfer81 lmao dude this was hilarious

  • @Telfer81 lolz

  • @Telfer81

Sorry, Gonna be fat and lonely watching sad and lonely runners running.

    Peace out.

  • @Telfer81 nooo

  • @Telfer81 lol wata crack up ..

  • @Telfer81 i suppose you're a fat white dude.

  • This is the ghost of akathewave. I tried your running program and somwhere around 17 mins my veins clogged with the Cheetos of my past life.

  • yeah when i started off it was 15min. I noticed running with a nother beginner i was able to reach 20 min

  • i'm a beginner and i run 30 min

  • 20 minutes to start? WtH? That's terrible advice.

  • First, this guy's voice is so annoying I couldn't even watch the whole thing.

Second, @0:59, did he say fronday?

  • @DOJOKA50 i think the bloke said froiday, mate! (in my brit voice)

  • @DOJOKA50 I think the bloke said froiday, mate! (in my best brit voice)

  • it goes to show you how obese America is when the average beginner cant jog easily for 20 minutes .

  • 138,810 videos holy shit !

  • a begginer runner?......everyone runs sometime in there lifetime, whether its when ur 3 or 30

  • Ya I totally agree, running for 20 mins is really hard for a beginner

I just run for as long as I can and then walk then run again

  • i agree, walk run,,start by walking and run for 30 sec,,this guy is full of it..

  • i ran 21 km in 1 hour 17 minutes (because i used to do athletism and i still run) and i have some body fat in the bottom (i only have 4 abs) and i wasn't even exhausted so i don't understand why i still have some fat that i can't lose lol

  • what about stomach cramps?

  • i want to ask a question dose the speed of any one is born with him or Traning what make you faster and better

  • i just started and it is nothing to run 20 min :S

  • @bliz405 what do you care?

  • When he tells begginners to run for 20 minutes, I wouldn't expect them to run the whole route either. However, as long as they attempt to run those 20 minutes, they'll push themselves into shape where they can run longer. Afterall, that is how I started, trying to go for a set amount of time, despite if I had to stop to catch my breath.

  • most i've ran continously is 3 and 1/2 hours. 3 time state champion qualifier in Cross Country =)

  • How fast is easy jogging? 8km/h?

  • Why wait three weeks before building up four or five minutes? Why not increase by one minute each time?

  • wow i realy needed that i cant evin stand up strate lol i can walk but not run espespuly run and breath wow your good

  • @renrut05 Actually, you should know that humans aren't really supposed to run with shoes. Shoes cause a lot of problems like stress fractures, and joint pain. We run gracefully barefoot, but we don't with shoes. But we need to protect our feet, so it's important to know how to run properly with shoes.

  • isnt that what runners are for?

  • thats why it says 'for beginners' bozo.

  • @renrut05 im a baby mother fucker

  • -being sarcastic- thank u so much now i know how to run wow took me some time but i finnally got it phew! everyone gonna be jelous cuz i kno how to run yup thank alot sirusly-lol-

  • Running for beginners?? pfft, what next, tutorials on chewing your food? way to make a boring activity even more boring for people. Run however feels natural to you I say, as long as your posture is reasonably straight

  • @Tmal10 Your messed up...But still hella FUnny.. lol..chewing food tutorial.

  • what if you smoked before you started running,I think it all depends on the shape your in at the time you start jogging/EVERYONES DIFFERENT

  • The thing he said at the start.. does it really have to be that gradual? :S Like only increase two mins each week :S I started at 30 mins a day 7/7 :S wrong of me?

  • ya same for me, except the other day I did 1 hour and it killed my knees lol

  • Google 'couch to 5k'

  • Bare feet are the best shoes!

  • Yeah, and beer is the best energy drink.

  • It took me 3 weeks to be able to run for 20 minutes. The first week I could barely do 7 minutes. What a shock! But it got better pretty quickly. Every week I add another 5 minutes and I increase the speed too. I feel a lot more comfortable now.

  • I do not claim to know more than this guy but lately, I have been doing a 3.5 MPH fast walk for 30 minutes on the treadmil and a 3.2 Mil Trail where I jog about 1 Mile of it 6 out of 7 days a week. And I do both of those every day. Ive lost nearly 25 pounds in less than 2 months with no diet change other than watching my portions. I honestly doubt running more is going to make me lose muscle, I have been doing more and more that cannot mean I am losing muscle.

  • If you dont lift, your losing muscle guaranteed. But if your not trying to get bigger muscle wise, it doesnt even matter.

  • what about those who cant "slowly jog" for 20 min straight? serious question

  • @neekie5235

    Short and sweet answer is...

Just go out and try it, if you cant make it, then walk some and then job, just do it for 20 to 30 minutes every two days.

Stay hydrated, this will help your run easier, prevent injury and burn more calories, stay off the gatorade.

Say NO to carbonated beverages, even diet sodas, I know it sucks.

Eat right, if you can't, take vitamins.

Listen to music, or run with a friend.

  • thanks

  • start byking at first... but don't slack off!!! be agressive, ride the hardest pace you can and keep it up for AT LEAST an hour. i made the transition at being able to ride at about 30km/h for 2 hours (but on an almost perfect plain so don't try to get those numbers uphill or on uneven roads with traffic...).

  • try jogging for maybe 2 minutes then walking for a minute or whatever intervals you feel comfortable with

  • for some people starting out with 20 min is very hard for them.

  • @newday120 yer :(

  • ive been running since i could walk

  • I may start running,i did a LITTLE tonight.I ran 0.3 miles and when i stopped my legs locked up.I could barely walk.LoL.

  • running is the best for general health it is one of the most natural ways to look and feel better, humans are hunter gatherers and are designed to run and chase the prey therefore running for a couple of hours a week is essential for good health

  • i agree with 2 hours a week anymore and you lose to much muscle. you need to weight train 5 times a week with half hour cardio. if you eat correctly then you will get ripped

  • boring

  • i suggest you should go to a specialty running store or a specialst so you can get fitted to the right shoe = i suggest you go to a running store so you can spend 1 grand on a pair of shoes

  • you...what an ass!

  • stupid advice what if your like in your 30s and havent ran or walked much in years you would get a heart attack

  • Good advice. You woun't get a heart attack running 20min even if you haven't ran or any other sports for years no matter of your age. Do a cardio + watch what you eat if you have or you feel that you can have any problems with your heart.

  • i need to run 2 miles in or very close to around 14 mins. now i dont run, how difficult is that?

  • well if you dont run its gonna depened on how soon you need to run it i have to run a 2 mile in 12:30 but for you probably gonna be pretty difficult althought if your althletic it will be easier

  • for you its going to be so Fooking hard! But you can do it!

  • If you'll do + cardio ex. you'll run this easier and faster.

  • There is no way a beginner could run 20 minutes. No way. Your average beginner is coming straight off the couch with a cardiovascular system so weak they won't be able to run a block without feeling like they are dying.

20 minutes is a lifetime for a beginner. A much better program is to run 30 seconds/Walk 30 seconds for 2 weeks. Then progress to run 1 minutes/Walk 1 minute and then on to run 90 seconds/walk 30 seconds and just increase from there.

Don't even try running for 20 minutes.

  • i started running today and ran for 25 minutes. its all in the mind. i wanted to stop after about 3 minutes. then i just kept on putting one foot infront of the other.

  • Digital; Is that advice for a 40 year old pussy with one leg, who is 80 lbs over weight, and is at the time of the jog experiencing cardiac arrest?

    My god.

I'm a heavy smoker who hadn't done anything athletic for two years and one day got up and put out two miles on the track.

What's with the super pussy friendly advice?
