I remember seeing Brian in the late 90s, and the guy he was with was obviously hungry and wanted to go eat, and was being unnecessarily short with me and my little niece who were at the back of the line. I had ten Shadow of the Bat comics, and my niece was going to try and get a sketch from him. The guy told us Brian wasn't doing anymore sketches, and the I had to pick one comic for him to sign. Brian signed all ten anyway, without me even asking.
Brian acted as my mentor for a few years and what you say is absolutely accurate. He is one of the people I admire most in this world and is just a great, fun, funny, evolved person who is dedicatd to self-improvement. I count him as a friend and hope to hang with him again some day if the universe will allow it.
I also met Mr. Freeze, and I had a very similar experience. He was kind enough to take probably over an hour to critique my portfolio. He genuinely cares about students and artists. Great guy.
