Some of us remember Vietnam all too well with the draft...and yes, I can trace a friend's name on the Wall. First time I heard this was several years ago in San Diego...crowd was totally hushed...
this music is awesome! John Fogerty one of the greatest singers/musicians there ever was! i dont know how many 15 year olds even know who he is, but im 15 and he is my favourite!
This song is so relevant, not with just the war. Big pharmacy, education, health care, food... When are we as a country going to stand up and do something about it?
You know what really makes me sad? Well if you are a true fan of fogerty and all the true aged rockstars then the evolution of music will really bring a tear to your eye just the same as me. Im 14 and i think from the 60s to 90s were simply the best musical periods ever and to be. The saddest part is i know it will never change. It will from here on out bring out the negatives in todays society. look at this 30000 views when the other garbage about jizzing in your pants has millions. Rock on:)
@MrBadacidradio I'm gonna do you a favor and tell you to NEVER mention your age on these kinds of videos, there's a lot of assholes who'll rip on you for doing it. It's pathetic really, but you seem cool and I want to spare you the trouble
John Fogerty has put into this song what America has covered with the thin layer of so called "Patriotism" a blind faith that our government has our best interests at the center of its being. War is about churning up corporate profits not about national defense. Just look at the profits of the military industrial complex before, during, and after and you need not look any farther. War is a total hoax on the unsuspecting. Its like deja vu all over again.
i dont care wut u say i say these are good tunes and there is always arsholes who gotta cut up these songs why do u even listen to them if u wanna put them down does it make you feel good to put down these artits you only wish you could be as grest as some of these bands on youtube!
spwb2k....you are an idiot. This song is about the strife America seems to find itself in every couple of decades....fighting some war we have no business even being in. I beleieve that Fogerty is more in touch with how this country actually feels than you give him credit for. And i want you to accept receipt of your son or daughter in a box coming back from war and not think it is your precious child.
@alittlepandemonium Most of those in our government are their to support their corporate sponsors, those who put the money up to enpower them, not the voter. It is all part of a big illusion to make you believe we have a democracy by the people. We are all victims of a huge propaganda machine controlled by the CIA.

This is a cool song, but Fogerty's aging hippie anti war preacher-man act is old and out of touch with reality.
First of all, nobody's "precious child" ever get sent to war. Theyre all grown adults who volunteeer to do a difficult and sometimes deadly job. They deserve our praise and respect, not some whiny hippie flower child schtick.
Second, 99.999% of military moms are proud of their sons and daughters in the service. If Fogerty understands this, he's got a weird way of showing it
@spwb2k Being proud of your child and mourning them are not mutually exclusive. "Another mama's cryin'" is not "Another mama's pissed at their kid for joining the military and getting killed". Also, if you honestly believe that the volunteers who were in the National Guard before these wars began knew what they were getting into, you have serious issues that you should resolve before traipsing off onto the internet to spew your twisted ideals.
I know that it will never happen, but if only Stu, Doug, and John would make up! John Fogerty solo is still great though. This song proves it.

John Fogerty really hits a nerve with this song. He was the driving force behind CCR and he still continues to put out great music.
