@bowhunter65ful Walmart buy! under $120 new. Very accurate/solid gun. Try Remmington 1oz rifled slugs or Winchester Super X 1oz slugs good buys to see which patterns/sight best from 25/50 yards. I dont shoot much pass 55 yards with single shot. Smooth bore barrel Improved cylander, will shoot 00 buck if in super thick hard woods. Get a slug sleeve for extra shells & quick reload if needed...hope this helps. Keep your head up on the job search my friend...Tough times dont last, tough people do!

Yeah i agree that must be 217 with guts in it because that is no 200 pound deer, we only weigh them gutted. But that looks like he could be 217 with guts in it. I live in NH and they are rare up here. I have hunted maryland and those deer are tiny.
@olred22re ...Thanks for watching, I weigh my game animals just like I do my fish all intact (Bass, Rock Fish, Grouper, Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Pacific Sailfish) Its gives the true size of the game. MD cant compare to some states in deer size but it can hold its own in some parts of the state with large size deer. I hunt in Southern MD. and there are much bigger than this here that freqent our farm area. You hunt what your are can produce. I hunt for the table so all are trophy size to me...lol

@boggin793-Well kid since your only 19. I doubt that in your young years you have seen every deer/weight in Va. and MD. One thing I dont do is lie on my fishing/hunting, that will put a funk on it all. I dragged/weighed it on a butchers scale in our barn that has weighed a many hog, goat, sheep, steer and deer. As I stated it was before I gutted him. If it was a 100 lbs it would still be a hell of a buck 2 me. Spend more time on what you like instead of what you dont like. Thx 4 Watchin...Buck

He was a smart one, I changed my tree position to another tree about 30 yards away and stayed up the tree and didnt come down all day. Thanks again for watching and the post.
ya my 8 point this year i shot in a swamp and i dropped it i couldnt find it, it was snowing out and it was below 0 and the water was up to my waist i was out there for hours then i found it. it wasnt the funnest

It looks like you A)Know how to shoot B)Know how to wait and be patient for a broadside shot C)You generally seem to miss most of the front shoulder...something I always try to do too, in order to save the meat!

A change of pace from all the high dollar high fence hunts we see on tv. I also appreciate the fact that on this hunt a simple single shot shotgun did the job .
I always wondered if deer were mutating because of all the "new" technology thats needed nowadays to kill a deer.
wow nice buck man. i just started to hunt about a year ago i got a button buck last week it was my fisrt deer and i got to tell you it was so exciting. i cant wait to see a big boy in my sights!!
during the last season i was in western wisconsin hunting in a earn-a-buck zone...and of course we didnt have our buck tag and i saw a little 6 pointer about 10 yards away from me and a real nice big 10 point in the same day
Doesn't surprise me Buck. I knew that if you had lots you would make sure that the meat was put to good use. That would have been some of the better quality available. I always hear how hunters are rednecks, and have no concern with what becomes of the meat as long as they get the pleasure of taking an animal down. This sure puts a kink into their theory, hey? And hey, if you're a red neck, then I guess i'm proud to be considered one too.
Lol but you forget that the anti-hunting extremists think that giving the meat to shelters is abuse to poor people LOL! You can never win with those bastards!

Pretty buck man. Ever get any measurements? He'll grill up perfect. Cut him up into some steaks and man I'm makin myself hungry. I didn't get the chance to tape any of my hunts this year, but when I stop bein lazy I'll get around to makin a slideshow lol.
Journey...first of all your channel is great, and all hunters should enjoy your videos. The hunt was a blast! I got this Buck finally, he came out at 2:34pm...all spring/summer he would travel the trail 1-3pm ...even if I harvest one or not the prep and the time in the woods I wouldnt trade for anything...the kill is the iceing

you guys like muzzleloader (so do i) but i still find bowhunting the most blood pumping adrenaline rush, and one of the most best whitetail hunting. good vids buck

Rifeld are good...you have to really make sure that sabot is diled in correctly with the twist ratio of your barrel to get the best out of it, they can go off at times...I like slower fps and heavy slug...even if its "only" 1200fps thats still really fast heavy slug and good placemant...knock down combo punch.

Thanks Fishinkidd! Dont sleep on that 20 gage it can do the job...good slug selections is a must, slow and heavy 3/4oz has great knock down power...it will go through the Big Deer at about 50-60 yards in. We love the 12 but the 20 can hold his own...sneak it out to the field...lol

Doesn't surprise me Buck. I knew that if you had lots you would make sure that the meat was put to good use. That would have been some of the better quality available. I always hear how hunters are rednecks, and have no concern with what becomes of the meat as long as they get the pleasure of taking an animal down. This sure puts a kink into their theory, hey? And hey, if you're a red neck, then I guess i'm proud to be considered one too.

Lol but you forget that the anti-hunting extremists think that giving the meat to shelters is abuse to poor people LOL! You can never win with those bastards!

Pretty buck man. Ever get any measurements? He'll grill up perfect. Cut him up into some steaks and man I'm makin myself hungry. I didn't get the chance to tape any of my hunts this year, but when I stop bein lazy I'll get around to makin a slideshow lol.

Journey...first of all your channel is great, and all hunters should enjoy your videos. The hunt was a blast! I got this Buck finally, he came out at 2:34pm...all spring/summer he would travel the trail 1-3pm ...even if I harvest one or not the prep and the time in the woods I wouldnt trade for anything...the kill is the iceing

been watching a few of your vids tonight. Nice going! I too have caught the muzzleloader bug. I missed a little moose this fall with my .58 T/C big bore. Next year hopefully I can post some success. Keep it up man! Traditional is the way!

the best slug gun you can use is fully rifled barrel with sabot slugs hands down

Rifeld are good...you have to really make sure that sabot is diled in correctly with the twist ratio of your barrel to get the best out of it, they can go off at times...I like slower fps and heavy slug...even if its "only" 1200fps thats still really fast heavy slug and good placemant...knock down combo punch.

Its a New England Firearms 20 gage smooth bore. Shot Winchester Super X 3/4oz slug. tried a few tyes of slug that one shoots the best for me.

Thanks Fishinkidd! Dont sleep on that 20 gage it can do the job...good slug selections is a must, slow and heavy 3/4oz has great knock down power...it will go through the Big Deer at about 50-60 yards in. We love the 12 but the 20 can hold his own...sneak it out to the field...lol

Slug accuracy:
Smooth bore shotgun 20 gage 3" groups at 65 yrds in w/hollow pt 3/4oz slug 1200-1300fps
12 gage smooth bore 1oz hollow pt slug 3" groups at 75-85 yards out
Rifled barrel will shoot a tad bit farther with rifled slug
I have a New England 12 gage rifled bull barrel shotgun w/red dot scope that will shoot 150 yards easy in a tight group
Good deer shotgun Rem 870 combo barrels

Thanks Mossberghunter93...that Mossberg 500 pump good gun for price. I picked up a Mossberg 695 bolt action 12 gage with a 3 slug clip in 2000 they dont make them anymore, I think.
