Really good cover, and the audience absolutely loved it! Great to see so many people dancing and enjoying themselves to a classic like twist and shout - better than anything in the charts thats for sure!
Brooklynparrot youre awesome, love all your quaker vids and songs too!
I'd just like to know something (sorry this isnt to do with The Meetles), your wild parrot clips always mention the 'ongoing documentary project' I really want to know if this means youre making a full length docu-film or if its referring to the brooklyn parrots project in general. Reason I ask is because I want to see more of it haha, what youre doing for these birds is most commendable and I would happily pay out for a dvd if ever one is produced!
Yes - the project is still "ongoing" but I still don't know when it will be finished. The problem is basically resources - not so much money but time - without getting into too much detail, I had some major life disruptions in 2008 and the need to hold down a full-time job, plus bandwork, plus keeping the free Safaris going, has pushed it onto the back burner. Still hope to finish it someday, however!
Yes sounds like youre a busy chap, I'll just keep a keen eye on your site and await eagerly the finished product!
I'm currently on the hunt for a feathered quaker friend myself which is why I'm so enthralled by all this. We have wild Ring Necked parrots here in England but alas none of the fantastically interesting monks so far as I know! Theres an alright short doc about them - search for "the great british parakeet invasion" on youtube, theyre really thriving too!
And last two nights were notable in that we are now getting asked to autograph the band's CD and getting invited to play a gig in Egypt!!! -- Check out MeetlesVideos on YouTube and Twitter for more.
Why can't we have a band like you guys in Toronto? Would certainly make the TTC less of a drag xD I got a little teary eyed seeing the crowd having so much fun listening to you guys play! And you're REALLY GOOD TOO! Keep on rockin!
@MeetlesVideos Each gig is different and has a different set of "magic moments." Last Saturday it was amazing when people formed a circle and then a conga line during Hey Jude. I've never seen that happen before!
Great job Meetles!! Thank you for showing how the music of the Beatles brings people together still to this day and hopefully will for years to come. Keep up the good work!
I love the video and just wish I were still in NYC. But I'm as happy to hear from you again - it's been a while and I hope all is well. I've got to go & check out the other Meetles videos. The music sounds great and, as sappy as this sounds, it is joyful.
Hi my wife and I were there on 2-6-2010 and I was wondering if you had any other videos. Right before this song my wife was dancing alone in the middle of the crowd and a women was filming her. If you have the video can you please upload it...thanks!

Thanks so much, Tangerine08! I'm a big fan of the TTC, by the way - your streetcars rule!

@Tangerine08 start a Beatles Meetup and see what happens, that's what happened here! Took a while but look at them now!

Thanks so much! We're trying to document the performances because they so often turn into spontaneous multi-generational "happenings."
Please stay tuned: I have other songs from that night and the shots are all very interesting.
