I voted for lib dems, but I have warmed to labour recently.
I liked how with labour, politics is kept on the down low, so we all just got on with our day to day.
Cameron wants politics to be too big, like in America; where everyone has politics thrown in their face everytime they turn on their tv, which just warps your mind over time.
The public doesn't need to think about politics all day. That's for the politicians to focus on.
@XerathBand So you have never downloaded a song? and by "people like you" i suppose you mean 99% of the population. How on earth are you loosing money? Letting people download your music for free only helps to give you more popularity.
@Soadrock132 sorry i didnt realise you worked in the music industry! poppularity is supposed to come from exposure, paid for by the labels with sales profits... it's not that simple
Either way, the industry needs a break... and if this is it.. so be it I think!
I believe they're all corrupted. Prior to Blair's election, three truly left wing politicians and journalists died rather mysteriously. I've always felt that Murdoch started all this. I believe it was when he came to England that the rot started. He most definitely ruined the Freedom of the Press at the time. Now we have Freedom of Speech on the line. The bloke's a menace and is without conscience.
If everyboy refuse to pay taxes until it was made illegal for the Wealthy to buy, bribe, or threaten Political Parties, then there would be a race to behave fairly and impartially. At present this is not the case. Governments are supposed to be elected by the People. They are supposed to be in service to the People. You employ them! They are not there to oppress you, they should be there for you. There are more of US than THEM, that is the common man's strength.
I shall be voting liberal democrats. I am sick of Gordon Brown and his two faced fake speeches and I am no way going to have a conservative government after all the bad they did before.
- the shortest NHS waiting times in history - three million more operations a year - over 44,000 more doctors - 90,000 more nurses - GPs open into the evenings and at weekends - free cancer prescriptions - a two-week maximum wait to see a cancer specialist - over 100 new hospitals - the Winter Fuel Allowance - free TV licences and free bus passes for pensioners - the Pension Credit - the New Deal for the Unemployed - full-time rights for part-time workers
@aaronon some of that I would agree is good, while other stuff are minor schemes (not all have worked) especially when compared against MAJOR failings in other areas...
a recession the likes we've not seen since WW2, immigration, schools/NHS/Police worse than ever (adding more teachers/police/nurses isn't enough), illegal war etc
the list goes on, but the proof is in the big picture and unbiased view of the average citizen, not in the straw clutching "record" Gordon uses to sleep at night.
@aaronon My sister died recently under the multiple neglegencies of the N.H.S. I no longer live in the U.K. but people are coming here in droves complaining that the Government are giving washing machines to foreigners rather than to those who have paid their taxes in England all their lives. Doesn't charity begin at home?
@aaronon I suspect it's imperative that people worldwide vote for parties who do not accept handouts from big businesses. While they are paying Governments, then Governments will serve them, not The People. Labour is no longer Left Wing and has not been for some time. The world is now run by corporations. Alas.
@OverTheGun - domestic violence cut by two thirds and rape convictions up by half - more police than ever on our streets - the worlds first ever Climate Change Act - beating the Kyoto emissions targets - the tripling of overseas aid - the cancelling of debt of the poorest countries - the ban on cluster bombs - peace in Northern Ireland - a Britain in Europes mainstream not in Europes slipstream - free swimming for kids - free museum entry - the right to roam - banning fox hunting
@OverTheGun - the Olympics for London - half a million children out of poverty - extended schools - 42,000 more teachers - the best ever exam results in schools - Education Maintenance Allowances - record numbers of students and for the first time the majority of students are women - a doubling of apprenticeships - a Child Trust Fund for every newborn child - Sure Start childrens centres - free nursery places - and Child Tax Credits
