@mrpainers Nothing against Fry but his voice puts me to sleep (and has o_0). When Dale speaks the parts of different characters it SOUNDS like different characters instead of justlistening to the same voice for hours on end. I suppose it is just a matter of opinion and you are of course entitled to yours but I respectfully disagree. =)

@Forsaken1780 Fair enough, just in my opinion after listening to both sets of audiobooks, I prefer Fry's. Jim has always bored me, I never get the sense of excitement that I get with Fry. I just remember when I was a kid and my mum would put Jim Dale on and I'd always moan until she put Fry's version on. Ahaha :P Either way though I still listen to both. I just always have prefered Fry's. =] Thank you for a respectful reply =]

@mrpainers I agree with you. I think it's Stephen Fry's deeper, more serene, "manly" voice. Jim Dale sounds like someone I wouldn't take as seriously. Fry has a beautiful reading voice and I like his interpretation of the characters.

@atlascanada I HAVE listened to the Jim Dale version, which is obviously where my opinion comes from. I did not like his voice at all, especially those hoarse, strange voices he gives to some characters. I don't think Stephen Fry's voice is too comical. His reading of the narration is superior in my opinion, although I do not like his Hermione voice. He sounds more authentic to me.

@Chocolateluvr1987 well, i figured you had made that comment based on the song in this video, because if Jim read like he sings I wouldn't take him seriously either. in my opinion Jim has a better reading voice, but then again i listen to a lot of books read by him so i feel- er patriotic... book-wise towards him. I have also listened to the books read by fry, and it feels like a whole different story- i'm not saying its a bad thing, its just got a diffrent tone.

My other issue with it is that it's too fast to be heard from above while the players are playing quidditch. The words would blur. They need to be clearly identifiable for Ron to be as embarassed as he is.

Then, she tries to defend Marietta for betraying the DA by saying that it's hard for her because her mother works at the Ministry. In the movie, she never even got mad once, and, though she was the one to betray the DA, apparently it was because of Verateserum, and everyone else was unfair to her. She's MUCH worse in the books, I have to say.
