  • idk who was a bigger steal, mj at the no. 3 spot or david sterns mustache...

  • forgot to add and will become the "Greatest Player to play the game of Basketball"

  • nice moustache davey boy!!!!!!!!!

  • damn, he wasn't even there< i guess he thought he'd be a bust...

  • @yomelo nah it's because he was at the team usa under 19 tournament that time

  • 9 utah jazz's fans did not like this draft

  • Lol i bet who ever had pick number 1 & 2 feel really stupid

  • @wwerulzs64

Actually, the Rockets made a good pick at No. 1. They picked Hakeem Olajuwon, easily a top 3 center (of all-time). Of course, it was only when Jordan had a short retirement to play baseball, and received some help from new teammates did he win a championship ring. And he was easily the smartest center and best defender of all-time. As for the No. 2 pick.. Yeah, Portland screwed up..

  • @wwerulzs64 watch more NBA dumbass, the number 1 pick is the reason why Kobe,Howard have post game, they learnt from him.

  • Portland always f***s up there draft picks

  • in the mold of dr. j. i hope the commentator is still alive and see what michael just did to the nba

  • That pick would go on to make a legacy.....

  • BUST

  • mavs had the number 4 pick so close and they could had gotten Barkley to this sucks

  • Give Houston some slack , at least they picked Hakeem , undoubtedly one of the best centres to play the game. The only team that fucked up was Portland.

  • the greatest draft pick....of ALL TIME!

  • He wasent that good I'm collage if u guys had to pick I about bet u didn no he'd be the best ever

  • @swicknasty1 he was pretty damn good in college actually and was a national player of the year

  • No One Claps????

  • And so the legend begins.......

  • Best draft class in NBA's history and probably modern sport's history.....Hakeem, MJ, Charles Barkley and John Stockton....I mean with that lineup you can play sarah palin at Small Forward position yet beat the crap outta every other NBA team, let alone draft class.....woah just thinking about Stockton feeding Dream, MJ and Barkley tearing up everyone, MJ and Barkley's intimidating defense and when you get past them Dream's defense , damn getting goosebumps just thinking about it!

  • should i remind all of you so called genious' who have the benefit of hindsight on their side that portland actually got to the NBA finals in 1990 before Jordan got the bulls there.

Also i bet if Jordan played for the Balzers, I bet he would be just as underated as Drexler was during his career.

Drexler - an amazing talent playing in a tiny Portland market.

  • @theSLCkid well houston got akeem olajuwon, who's hardley a bad pick for 1st overall. Portland though should have gone with jordan but with the expirienced guards already on their team, they went for some center, sam bowie. Thats why this draft was so important, IF portland went with jordan he might not have had as much playing timeas he did at chicago, and might not have emerged as the greatest player ever

  • who?

  • houston and portland were complete dumbasses because they thought he wasn't good enough for them. now they must feel sorry for being stupid.

  • Where amazing happens

  • hah the 1st and 2nd picks must feel pretty stupid now

  • @Jojoguy131 Not the first pick, the Dream is one of the top five big men of all time. The second...not so much.

  • @Jojoguy131 houston doesn't. they have hakeem, the greatest center of all time. Also if Houston drafted Jordan then Portland would get the Dream and Portland would have multiple championship becuz dream and drexler in their prime would dominate everyone while houston may not get the supporting cast needed for jordan.

  • I love the story that supposedly Bobby Knight (who was coaching Jordan at the 84 Olympics) called Portland's Gm at the time and urged him to pick Michael. The Gm objected to that and told him they needed a center. Bobby Knight screamed and said "Well play him at center, then!" LOOOL

  • Comment removed

  • Chicago Bulls picked Michael Jordan from North Carolina who will get 6 titles for the Bulls.

  • Look at the Jordan Jocker comments on this thread: "Houston must be kicking themselves for passing on Jordan" as if to say we drafted some underachieving slouch at number 1.

  • @FuShengAlex Hakeem was nice, but even he had to wait til Jordan retired the first time to get his rings.

  • blackricktheruler ....More like Jordan had to wait for Bird to go away.

  • @FuShengAlex Na,Isiah and the Pistons blocked Mike once he got better players around him.Once he beat the Pistons, the rest is history.

  • i still cant fkn figure out, if the 2nd commentator is a man or a woman

  • should he have been first pick!1st and 2nd pickers are blind and stupid..Atleast bulls got balls!

  • @CuntIEatYou

Well, it was hardly a bad move for Houston to go with Olajuwon, considering he led them to two championships and eventually became the all time leader in blocks.

As for the Blazers and Bowie? Well, Bowie wasn't awful, so to speak, but he most definitely wasn't anything close to what the Blazers hoped he'd be.

  • @MaximumSpiderMvC,bowie was a bust and they're red flags everywhere...they played for need and got robbed big time.Talent over need is the cardinal rule. If a great player presents himself, you draft him....Bowie was never the best player in college at that time.

  • @CuntIEatYou Yep!

  • they picked Michael jordan, the greatest, but little did everyone know that he was going to play with Pippen and create the greatest dynasty in basketball.

  • They say the Bulls always drafted high.

The Bulls drafted as high as the heavens, here/

  • They had no idea what just happened

  • You know you picked a good player when he's too busy with Olympic training to show up to his own draft!!

  • "The Chicago bulls picked.... the beast.

  • michael jordan looks so thin. he need to hit the weight room or the nba going to et him alive

  • lol he was better in the nba than in college

  • Comment removed

  • 3rd pick who was first (i was borin in the 90s

  • @mactrick117 olajuwon

  • thagr8est2playball + google = so much luls

  • Comment removed

  • they had no idea who the fuck they just drafted ..

  • @Rondooooooooooo i know heh...it kinda sells chills to my spine when you think about it haha

  • @Rondooooooooooo Yea i know man imagine he would of gone somewhere else.....Bulls would be nothing lol

  • @elekipito nah i cant let myself imagine that scenario that would be some gay type faggot shit if that happened

  • @Rondooooooooooo ROFL they drafted a monster

  • @flocka85 man thats 3rd pick.. wat an idiots...

  • little did they know he would turn out to be the best player of all time

  • Jordan was the reason why Ewing, Miller, Barkley, Malone and Stockon couldn't get a ring.

  • @Wannybin HELL YEA

  • the 9 dislikes are by sam bowie

  • And that is why Portland will be forever known as the failures of the nba

  • Sam Bowie, amazin thins that happen in the NBA.

  • this is a very good pick for the bulls i think michael jordan going to be very good one day

  • Wow, didn't know Jordan wasn't at his own draft.

That's kind of unheard of now a days.

  • why the f*ck does rockets miss jordan ? f*ck*ng idiots.

  • @64matthew this wasnt the MJ draft. it was the hakeem olajuwon draft. people wanted hakeem over jordan. u always go for a sure thing center over a sure thing guard. always.

that being said, the rockets offered ralph sampson for the number 3 pick in this draft. The bulls GM was gonna accept this trade, only to find out it was just a myth. but could u imagine... hakeem and jordan, beating everyone to a pulp

  • @64matthew,how are they idiots? Dream is one of the 50 greatest of all time and IMO the greatest center of all time. They won 2 titles because of Dream. You should do your research on Olajuwon. You should be asking how in the fuck does the blazers miss out on Jordan?LOL

  • This guy turned out alright.

  • @mbarce41 weak troll is weak

  • @xDragon15x <3

  • i bet the team with the first pick was regretting their draft pick

  • @chackisaleem the first pick was Hakeem "The Dream", one of the greatest player. Maybe not Jordan, but still great... Unlike Sam Bowie

  • @Colaa34 true i forgot bout him

  • @chackisaleem,the team with the 2nd pick was regretting their draft pick. The Rockets got 2 rings because of Dream. Can't say the same with Bowie and the blazers though. LOL

  • @EmperorJBO Dude, the blazers drafted clyde just a year ago, they didnt needed a guy on the same position, they needed a center. Is why they got bowie over jordan.

  • @otyknip Drexler was perfectly capable of playing the 3, had been the 14th pick in the previous draft and made 17mpg in his rookie season. He wasn't exactly a "can't miss" like Jordan was (not my words, but the commentators). And why did the Blazers need a center? They had Wayne Cooper (27) and Mychal Thompson (29), 2 pretty good centers, they weren't superstars but Bowie also wasn't projected as one and he also wasn't the rebounder they needed. It made no sense and history proved it!

  • Stern's ROCKIN that 'stache

  • 195 lbs? Man, good thing he hit the gym and added some muscle.

  • Lol, whoever didn't pick him as the first or second pick, really FUCKED UP

  • @Bears85yemi olajuwan wasnt a bad pick. you have to think that phil jackson had something to do w/ the bulls winning titles as well

  • I don't really follow sports. Did this Jordan kid ever pan out?

  • @Gettles did he ever?

  • @Gettles Geico could use this comment to make more commercials.

"does switching to geico save you 15% or more on your car insurance?...did michael jordan ever pan out in the NBA?"

  • @Gettles : )

  • I was in Chicago when Jordan was drafted, and a lot of people did not like the pick, saying the Bulls needed a center, not a guard. And the GM answered "You're right, we do need a center. But a player of this caliber does not come along every day."

  • The best move the Bulls have ever made.

  • what a bust! lol

  • who would've guessed he would be the greatest? (besides him of course)

  • YOU HAVE A BRIGHT FUTURE KID !!! LOL

  • @ken2388 LOL

  • thats the greatest diceshion ever

  • was jordan known back then

  • @knucklez92 Yea he had hit the game winner in the 1982 NCAA Championship. He was a very good player for UNC but as we all really showed what he was made of in the pros.

  • Bust.

  • that was hell of a pick for the bulls, @that time.

  • my best bulls team would be

    PG - Derrick Rose

    SG - Michael Jordan

    SF - Scottie Pippen

    PF - Horace Grant

    C - Joakim Noah

  • @SOLAR718

    C- Dennis Rodman

    Joakim is a bitch

  • @aztecwarroir21 yes.. i agree with you. Noah is such a bitch and Rodman is very well for getting rebounds.

  • @aztecwarroir21 I'd actually pick Artis Gilmore at Center, who's a Hall of Famer.

  • @SOLAR718 That was a great Bulls team, but my favorite team was when they have Bill Cartwright, BJ armstrong, Horace Grant, Scottie, and Mike! But perhaps the best NBA Bulls team was the 96 Bulls that had Dennis Rodman, Scottie, Ron Harper, Tony Kukoc and Jordan!

  • and so the legend begins..

  • Jordan came back towards the end of the 95 season

  • @fungshenalex if u remember when he came back in 95 jordan played like 20 games or so including playoffs...after being retired for well over a year... Not taking anything away from Hakeem though

  • At the 1984 Olympic tryouts Jordan's true ceiling was finally noticed. Bob Knight the coach of the Olympic team called his good buddy Stan Inman the GM of the Portland Trailblazers at the time and said you got to take Jordan - this kid is unbelievable. Stan replies to Bob knight that we need a Center. Bob Knight yells back to his good buddy, "Well play Jordan at center then!"

  • the best ever 3rd pick EVER

  • Wow, what ever happened to this guy?

  • who the hell were the first 2 picks

  • @violenceteacher6669 hakeem olajuwon was number 1 to housto. one of the best centers of all time and won 2 championships for houston between the two bulls 3peats. pick 2 was sam bowie to portland a bust.

  • not taking away for olajuwon but if jordan did not retire they would not win those two rings

chicago bulls pick Michael Jordan University of North Carlonia -- NBA has change forever cause of this man

  • Jordan was not retired when Hakeem won in the 95 playoffs but nice try anyways.

  • @poetmm You don't know that and lets get onething straight ! Hakeem Olajuwon was unstoppable on the Offensive end and the best on the Defensive end. He was better than Barkely Malone Stockon Payton Ewing and all the other great players that Jordan dealt with when the Bulls one their titles. Hakeem finally got some shot takes and shot makers to go along with his abilities. 85-91 Hakeem played with scrubs. That's why in 90 he wouldn't to be traded because him alone was not going to get it done.

  • rockbanned, sixth all time in steals scottie was not a normal player

  • @0:38 Not as good as Dr. J? hah

  • Comment removed

  • the reaction was like, "who is this guy"??

  • Bulls fan in 1984:

Damn, I wanted Bowie! oh well, maybe this MJ guy will be a solid role player!"

  • @m2diggs lmaooo and and now imagine the blazers management after that one

  • @iknowthissoundsinsan rings: lebron- 0 scalibraine - 1 i think MJ is better

  • You know you made a good choice when your player cant show up because they are too busy playing in the OLYMPICS.

  • Altought it's was before my time i think that this is the best NBA draft ever

  • @JustMichael1994 It's often is considered the best draft (MJ, Olajuwon, Barkley, Stockton). Although '96 and '03 come close.

  • wow !

  • how the fuck do you pass up on someone with a name like michael jordan...rofl

  • pretty good choice.

  • "the chicago bulls pick, the greatest player of all time."

  • @555heaven type "short guy spams" in the youtube search box to see a 3ft 1in midget spamming this message

  • WHO WOULDA THOUGHT AT THAT MOMENT ANYONE HADTHE IDEA THAT HE WOULD BE THE GREATEST TO EVER PLAY??

    THATS A TRIP

  • he turned out to be pretty good..

  • @tintin4561 haha

  • i wonder if anyone thought "man i hope hes not gonna be a bust"

  • dream said the blazers were offering the #2 pick and Drexler for Ralph Sampson., rockets passed.. thats the mistake they made.. imagine Dream, Glyde, & Jordan on he same team from 1984 to at least 1998..

  • 1984 NBA draft do-over.. the Houston Rockets select Akeem Olajuwon.. fuck the dumb shit..

  • They didn't know what the league was in for.lol

  • 1984, where amazing starts

  • stern should've said "the chicago bulls select the greatest player to ever play basketball"

  • 1984 was a good draft year :P

  • pretty good pick

  • Comment removed

  • @travellinman321 1. Kareem.. 2. Magic.. 3. Maybe Kobe, maybe the Logo.. Now, that's the LAKERS LIST, not the all time list, dipschitt.. Understand?.. Do you see how utterly stupid your statement is, when Kobe has trouble cracking the top 3 of his own damn franchise?.. Quit being stupid..

  • @travellinman321 LOL.. The only thing that's not arguable is you a ***king idiot if you think Kobe Bryant is the 2nd best player of all time.. The guy doesn't have to crack the top 3 of his own franchise!.. Here's a tip, Jr.. The earth wasn't formed 25 years ago..

  • My God, when are you people gonna stop it with the "MJ is the greatest" BS?.. Lemme clue you people in.. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the greatest basketball player to ever walk the planet, and Jordan isn't #2!..

  • The day that amazing was brought to Chicago

  • Chicago probaly like well maybe next year we'll get the first pick sigh*

6 years later BAM 3peat chamionships

  • Living in the Past

  • Portland fucked up bigtime

  • funny, portland apparently loved sam bowie so much they drafted him again in the 2007 nba draft.

  • @SmoothCriminal57

so al horford is the next michael jordan?

  • @jayjoetube14 what? no way man. what i was referring to is the portland trail blazers knack for drafting busts in the nba drafts. they pick Bowie in '84 and they picked Oden in '07. im only connecting those 2. and also saying they decided to pass up durant for oden like they did by picking bowie over MJ. not saying durant is Mj either, only that portland has a knack for passing up better players than the guys they actually draft.

  • @SmoothCriminal57 i dont get it

  • @aristides1002 all you really need to know is that portland over the years has had some shitty luck drafting big men. the chose sam bowie over jordan and chose greg oden over kevin durant.

  • @SmoothCriminal57 oh that explains it lol thnks

  • @aristides1002 haha. no problem man

  • how did the rockets fuck up? hakeem led the rockets ta 2 nba championships back to back and 3 nba finals. So the only team i see that messed up big time is porland!

  • if they only knew that hes best player of all time...

  • forgetting the whole sam bowie fiasco just look at the tab to the right for other 84 players. The greatest player, arguably the greatest center in hakeem and sir charles. And i'm sure there were other decent players i can't think of. What a legendary draft

  • john holmes is the nba comish

  • 1984 = Best Draft in NBA History, period.

  • thekingofpimpin, I love playing basketball. I am only 5'9 and I can dunk! I simply took this workout at 50-inch-vertical(dot)com - you can probably do it too
