amazing film. one of those that stands up to many viewings.

although i disagree with the director's take on this man, that were it not for his being under his father's thumb, he would have been fine in vermont running a healthfood store, it does make for a more human and interesting story than a die-hard realist treatment would have.

i would have preferred a regional accent for dunst's character. it was strange that such an authentic story would be missing that aspect of reality.
