That's great! I still have a car, actually it is a Miata and is a lot of fun to drive. But a year ago I went ahead and purchase a Trek Calypso (Cruiser bike but reasonable fast and light) and have outfitted it with lights, basket and clips. I am having so much fun using it for all of my errands that I don't drive my Miata hardly at all any more. The nice thing with the cruiser bike is that I can go really far on it without getting tired. I regularly cover 20-40 miles a days on it.
Nice. I've been getting fast too, once I learned to "Drive" my bike on the road. Try an old 3 speed bike if you want a practical bike, very practical and tough, but also extremely fast. And nobody wants them, so they're cheap.
same i do most of my travel on bike im fifteen but im into choppers and bmx and mtb but im gonna get a full on commuter bike down with cars up with bikes i just dont see the sense in having a good bike and driving everywhere
Ah yes, that makes much more sense. So, not an athlete or a wanker, just a typing error. 15 -18 miles per hour is quite respectable for a mountain bike but to many people you may be slow too ( I do 21 to 22 mph average on a 4 hour road ride and by many accounts, I'm slow...)
actually it's not that hard to put on 100 pounds on a bike. once you get going you barely notice there's any weight unless your trying to go super fast or something.
Nice vid - what are the carrier tubs on the back of the bike, and how have you fixed 'em in place. I'm thinking of buying a trailer for my bike so that I can do the weekly top-up without the car, but that'd be over £100, and your solution looks so much better!
Omg Kitty love!!!. RAAWR!!

Heh, I've been riding my bike a lot, too. My only complaint is when I crash, my wheel gets bent, and it starts scraping against the brake.
But yeah, bikes are cool, I can get 3.2 miles in 20 minutes on mine, you're not going too fast most of the time, but you FEEL like you're going fast.
I still wanna get some motorized 2 wheel vehicle, though. But you cant beat a bicycle for reliability.

danm you're slow on a bike i go 17 miles in 20 min. and run 3.1 miles in 17.56 min
kaleab 4 years ago
51 miles an hour on a bike? You should ride in the tour de france. You would win it by three days. OR, you're a wanker.
Hangdog98 4 years ago 2
actually it's not 17 miles google maps was wrong it was more like 56 miles when i used the speedomiter thing on my bike.
kaleab 4 years ago
i meant 5-6

Try hanging 100 pounds of grocieries on the back end of your bike and see how fast you go!
