Mr. Brooks does say, though, that some bacteria either build up a resistance to the virus, or that some are inherently resistant to their attacks, because the zombies do eventually decay. Exertion, attacks and the elements can account for some of that, but the guide explicitly puts a limit of approximately five years to a zombie in normal conditions. This indicates that some natural decomposition does take place, but at a reduced rate.

well now it makes sense why they dont decay much because the virus kill decaying microorganisms and other bacteria. That be cool that if in a zombie movie we could take take that abillity for being immune to modern virus's you know just an Idea.
