I noticed that there are a bunch of negative comments about this gun, most of which seem to come from those who have never shot one. I had my eye on the new 1911s from Rem but got this one as a gift instead. I would never have considered a MRI but now that I own one I can honestly say it is probably the best value of any gun I own. When shot head to head with my kimber, it outperforms it every time. IMO, the slide does not feel sloppy, it feels smoother than any 1911 I've ever shot. The safety

Fired one of these at the range this week. The fella' in the next bay had one. I swapped a mag out of my Ruger SR1911 for his Magnum Research 1911. The Desert Eagle shoots straight and has a nice trigger. I thought the side felt sloppy and the thumb safety seemed loose/mushy. The guy told me, after shooting my Ruger, that he had tried to find one for months and settled for the Magnum Research. He said he wished he had waited. His words, not mine.

Magnum research is pretty expensive even with 1911's, it's a good lookin gun, but I know it's shoots the same as a colt or rock island, people just want the name.

@lazyeyez23 The patents ran out on the 1911 years and years ago. Many licenses were given out to a number of manufacturers during WWII in order to supply the war effort. Even Singer Sewing Machine Company made a small number of 1911 firearms. Anyone with the capability and licensing can manufacture a 1911.

The design for this 1911 was stolen by Bul (isreal) from charles daly and produced by magnum research (orignally isreal too). Just pointing out some facts. They put poor old Charles out of business. Buy an American made 1911, not a stolen design.

i got my Desert Eagle 1911 G back in June, but it had darker grips, they look more like rosewood grips. i guess they come with slight variations. from what i understand they were also cheaper back then too, mine was $649 plus tax.

i really wouldn't say it has hard recoil. it is my first 1911, and previous to this gun i had only shot a 1911 once, a Kimber, and the recoil feels the same to me. on my channel i have a few videos shooting it, one of myself and another of my girlfriend. the videos can hopefully show how the recoil is. i don't have many videos, so they shouldn't be hard to find. hope seeing the recoil and being able mention it to customers helps you sell a few of em.

Not sure if anyone mentioned in the comments here but just in case you hadn't heard...Magnum Research, Inc (MRI) is now owned by Kahr Arms as of about 4 weeks ago! So since MRI would be the importer and these are made in Israel who is the actual manufacture of this very nice looking 1911?

i respect the 1911 very much, i loved it when i fired it. But the price for it, and low amount of rounds in the clip have always been the drawbacks for me on getting one. I mean it fired great, accurate and all. It began to feel its age after u put a few clips in. With the Glocks i never get that, great feel, weight, clip size etc. At least there is the Springfield XD's if u want a 1911/glock mix

I work at Sportsmans Warehouse here in Reno we've had about 6 come in at various times and they all go out as fast as they arrive! They are extremely smooth the triggers are damn good for a production gun and they shoot really well!
