Best thing to do is start playing the easy songs like Unchained. Then take that relaxed confidence and transfer it over to the harder songs. That worked for me. You also may want to consider another axe. You have long fingers. Perfect for older Fenders. You got talent. Time to advance to the next level.

What kinda axe is that bro? Kramer? Washburn? IBanez? I got a few, but my favorite is my Washburn custom Miller series MG40 with EMGs. It says Miller on the body. 24 fret and I use lighter strings .009's. I used to play tight like you. Almost as if I was fighting the guitar to play anything. Then I went to a master teacher.

The whole song in a no swing feel at all. It isn't a straigtht 4/4 like many players think. This performance, is lacking the swing, and the tone has too much gain. Try knocking back the gain, enough to hear some dynamics and work on the feel and timing, no just speed. ;)
