Born and raised in Arequipa, I can tell you that is just the way life is in my lovely city. So, no big deal. The good things in Arequipa by far exceed those negative , and I just hope you had a wonderful time while there.

As a former peruvian citizen I can assure you no peruvian will find this video to be offensive .... We are all aware of the traffic situation, I was part of it a long time and to be honest... i loved it :D It was not quite what i was used to in Germany either.

I'm peruvian and i dont see any offense here, Well and that is a quiet traffic. If you wish a real and terrible traffic in Lima, Around 7.30 pm, in many avenues, only pass the most real and super drivers, if you learn to drive here with this traffic, you can drive in any place of the world.

Arequipa is a beautiful city, unfortunately there are too many taxis that create chaos and disorder I hope the mayor once and for all stop this because it looks bad

The video is from 2006, the new mayor is doing some big changes in the city, for example making a lot of pedestrian boulevards were there used to be roads (in the City Center) and they are also about to build a bus system with separate lanes, hopefully that will reduce the traffic jam, Arequipa has too many cabs!

The driving in Lima is absolute chaos! i'm more used to it now, but i'll never understand 'the rules'! it's not just because of over-population, but a lot down to everyone wanting to be first - no patience at all. My wife (Peruvian) says it's all a lack of education

I live in Arequipa, and actually thats the way it is.. i love my city, the bad thing is that the streets doesnt work for the quantity of ppl living now on the city, plus all the cars xD.. but the streets in the center of the city (downtown) are getting better thanks to the mayor now.

Still a beautifull city to know in Peru, and i hope u had a goot time here =]

I´m peruvian and I admit its completely true. Its a pity and a shame that our overcrowded cities are mainly populated by people from the mountains, that not only cannot love a city that not recognize as theirs, but are also fulfilled of hate against anything that sounds occidental. Derepente tu mismo no t das cuenta, pero yo que seguramente soy mayor q tu, he visto como se ha ido a la mierda el manejo en Lima y Arequipa y como ese estilo agresivo (cultura Combi) q ahora t parece normal, sólo se veía en los pueblos chicos y careteras de la sierra. He viajado TODO el Perú y puedo comparar por ciudades y por épocas también.
