  • AMAZING Wah job, the first part with wah remind me of Tom Morello style.

  • i like the music more than the demo

  • russel brand play guitar?!? :O

  • cry baby all the way

  • yeah the cry baby is obviously so much more expressive

  • tight riffs! really like your sound..although some of the stuff sounds like it directly came out of a porno.. for instance the riff around 0:50 :P good stuff! i so badly wanna get a good wah pedal but i recently bought a looper and i'd feel a little guilty if i invest in more guitar equipment so soon :P

  • which do you like better?

I like the morley cuz its more subtle and creamier (and they have the power wah/volume pedal edition which is really cool), but the cry babies have a brighter sound which i also like lol and i can't decide which to get!

  • and the other dude just sits and reads lol.......

  • what are you playing at 0:11 - 0:28 ?

    btw. great comparison!

  • Haha finally a review done by someone who can actually play. This video will help me much, thanks.

  • Nice Shirt!

  • can you use the cry baby with a line 6 spider 4 amp?

  • can u use a cry baby pedal on the line 6?

  • Yup

  • i want your shirt

  • really diggin your solo, doc. I'll be sure to check out more of your stuff when i have time.

  • nice les pauls

  • nice i love it dude u got skill. much respect

  • line 6 :D

  • I fucking love your t-shirt!

    Just saying...

  • Wish since you're band is new and not famous yet... you would have more than clips on your myspace and stop trying to make money from people who haven't even heard a whole song from you guys... you should be trying to get noticed before you try to get rich...

  • We are trying to do neither. Our band is a hobby. The sole purpose of the band is for us to have fun and a laugh playing music together as bnch of friends. We decided again for fun, to record an ep and play some gigs. Some people enjoyed the end product and requested that we sell the ep, so we have. We all have proper professional jobs. My suggestion to you would be to stop being a youtube bitch.

  • cool or maybe better groovy

  • sweet playing. i must say that dude sittin there at the left the whole time was totally distracting though . . .

  • ahh I just heard your band, Im very dissapointed, its like new metal. You have so much potential to bring that classic Pink Floyd creative sound back man.

  • Your craving for sound is incredible, Fan of The Edge? He is very similar, not that I'm a fan of him, but what he does. You in a tight band? You should try a super reverb man, They're $1500 which is about average for a good amp, but listen to Steely Dan solos, like in Do it again and Reelin in the years, sound is INCREDIBLE.

  • I like the edge, but wouldnt say i am a massive fan. Love Sigur Ros, Radiohead, Oceansize bands like that. I do play in a fairly tight progressive band. I've used a super reverb in a studio, it was great. I'm quite happy with my two amps at the moment however. I have a Mesa Boogie Tremoverb head which I run thru a Mesa Boogie Stereo Recto 2x12 mainly for overdrive tones. I use a vintage Hiwatt 100 head thru a bogner cab for my clean. Sounds great. Would love a super reverb tho

  • @craigmcarthur1 I saw your band on myspace, Im very dissapointed. My super Reverb just came in, the sound is really incredible with the right distortion pedal. But you have so much interest in sound, I figure youd make pink Floyd, zeppelin solo kind of sounds. Your band sounds like an average progressive band. You should try to bring back Rock n roll!

  • morley has much more character... although for classic-funk riffs the crybaby fits better... i think

the morley remind me to my crybaby bass wah, tah really vocal kind of sound that with fuzz sounds so fuckin crazy and nasty! as a lowpass with low resonance

    great band you have man

  • What kinda strap is that?

  • I think its a Levi

  • ok sorry i lied. just re-read your info more carefully, not the exact same color, but looks like it in this vid. mine is vintage sunburst

  • up until last week that was my exact set up (well, guitar and amp)! flextone iii and a 2002 prs singlecut same color too. now running an ac15c1 hahaha nice dude. by any chance do you remember what amp model you were using? digg that clean tone at the beginning.

  • Sorry not sure. The problem with digital amps is you find settings u like and save them, then complely forget what u had programmed in! I still like the flextone range decent amps. I use a vintage Hiwatt and a Mesa Boogie Tremoverb now, but still use the flex alot

  • Cry Baby and Line 6 are the same as far i remember cuz line 6 made all the sounds digital,or specify if its a vetta wah or another of line 6

  • Hey I have a Crybaby Classic. I've had it for about a year with light use, but it continually makes a loud (and very noticeable) swishing noise when I tilt it back and forth. I put in a new battery yesterday, but it still does it. Any ideas of what I could do? Do you think there could be an internal problem with it?

  • Yup sounds like a problem with your unit. Try it on someone elses rig and see if the same problem arises. If so return it to the store u purchased it from

  • Thanks for the advice! I went back to the store today, they put some lubricant in it, and now it's better than it ever was!

  • I had a crybaby classic I bought it from the store and when I got home I plugged it in and It made a swooshing sound. I returned it and just recently found out that it was a dirty pot like what happens to guitars when there pots are dirty.

  • @eaglezach36

That is interesting. The new Crybaby wahs have "hotpotz" which are air tight sealed. I'm not sure how dirt can get into them.

  • i had the same problem, its the pot in your wah pedal. a wah pedal is basically a foot controled tone pot. the pot is dirty. you can open up the back of the pedal and clean it up. i used a q tip to clean it up. i dont think it worked 100% for me because i didnt take my time .

  • im sorry but the cry baby does it for me on this one, BRILLIANT playing may i add!!

  • @thatguitarboy i think the morley is better for the lower end like this i prefer cry baby on solos such as slash's :)

  • I'm guessing you were moving your foot in a specific rhythm. I'm trying to find an auto wah that has that Dunlop sound. Most auto wah have a fake wah sound.

    any idea's thanks.

  • I have to ask a question real quick... Why is it that you can't just use a regular wah? I'm curious why anybody uses auto wahs because they just can't give you the groove that a regular wah. Is it to be free to move away from it? Because in my opinion I don't see any other reason to have a auto wah. I mean most of the GOOD ones are over $100 and they can't give you the funk and power most of the time that a $80 Standard Cry Baby can. I'm not trying to be a dick. I'm really interested.

  • Good question.... not a dick at all. I bought an autowah to "move away like you said" but they sound diff. An autowah isn't as sharp as a pedal wah. Listen to "Car Wash" by Rose Royce. Then listen to "Voodoo Child" by Hendrix. The pedal wah has a "Wah-ka" sound while the autowah has a "wah" sound. there is also another autowah. Ones that hold a specific position. Kerry King has one made by Dunlop. autowah's aren't popular so it hard to test them out at a music store, but there are different.

  • I've used one that Guitar Center had up from Boss but no other brands. I kinda figured that your answer would be to be free to move because thats really the only sensible reason that I could think of. So whats your opinion on the one you have? Was it worth the money if you can get it tweaked to sound right or do you recommend just sticking with a pedal wah?

  • I have 2 autowah's the Electo-harmonix Dr. Q and a 70's MXR env. Filter. They didn't do what my Dunlop Wah could do, but I use the auto wah for a more R&B thing and the Dunlop for my Rock thing. You can't get M.Jackson old school funk with a Pedal. It just doesn't sound the same. Eventhough I have the auto wah. I'm never getting rid of my pedal. I have six Dunlops and I use 2 in my set up, Dime, Zakk, Hendrix, Van Halen, Standard, and one that activates when you step on it, no button to click.

  • Holy Shiznit thats a lot of wah pedals hahaha

  • Really nice riff

  • finally a decent wah wah pedal jamout video not those "technical and how to videos

  • amazing do you have tabs for this song?

  • Afraid not, its not really a song, I was just messing about with the wah to be honest.

  • I'm reading all this coments about morley, or dunlop, mesa boogie marshall j800 vs line 6. The thing is that if you get a line 6 amp with all kinds of effects it's because you play all kinds of music styles right?

  • So my question is how much do you have to pay for a marshall tube amp, a mesa boogie amp, a fender amp and all kinds of pedals 3,000 , 10,000 dollars right. I pay'd 600 dlls for my line 6 flextone iii xl with a shortboard pedal included and im happy as hell. Maybe if i become a pro I will find my music style and get a pro full stack and all kinds of pedals in a future (if I have the cash haha) any ways dude you play bien chingon !!!! like we say in Mexico excuse my french haha

  • very impressive sir, you are quite talented

  • i like the morely most. even for beeing bulletproof. you can enlarge the effectrange of the morley by modifying the space between photooptics

  • sounds like the cry baby has a bit more range then the morley... but the morley sounds better lol im not much for the line 6 though

  • dude you look just like Russel Brand!

  • If your going to get a Morley get the Bad Horsie 1

  • I really like the Morley Bad Horsie. That's what I use anyway...

  • make some tabs of the riffs you were playing

  • Na i, dont think I will bother. It should be easy enough to work out

  • Great playing.

Why do these comparason videos always show the guitarists and not the gear? I would have thought that ease of use would have been a concideration, particularly with a Wah pedal.

  • ease of use with a wah? seriously?

  • is that a mesa boogie amp? the label looks familiar...

  • Yup its a Mesa Boogie Tremoverb head

  • digging the first one, I believe its the morley. Cool comparison vid! What's with the dude in the corner? Is he taking a shit or what?

  • The first wah is the cry baby. Hahah the guy in the corner is my bandmate Gazpots, and yes it was meant as joke him sitting in the corner.

  • I have a 1969 original cry baby from Jen Italy that blows the socks off these wahs...The crybaby is the best one here though...

  • morley sounds like some one throwing up. cry baby is better

    lol

  • the cry baby sounds more open

  • Nice video bro! I think I will save to buy a Cry Baby! I really want it badly hehehe

  • cry baby ll the way

  • The Morley doesn't seem to get that "waka-waka" kind of thing as well as the Cry baby does. I'm picking up a Morley this sunday and went looking for some previews. You didn't disappoint ;D

Do you have any suggestions for a good overdrive/distortion that sounds real defined and smooth? Something like a lot of the older grunge bands had, that just gives you that really amazing sound. I've been looking but all i've heard are boutique pedals with that kind of tone.

  • Have a look at the Robert Keeley Electronics Rat II, I sent the link to ur inbox

  • gracias, eres un gran musico

  • ha ha ha .....at least you've got a sense of humour...ha ha...

  • i like the line 6

  • i see you like your les paul style guitars

    (R.I.P) any way great vid

  • That Guitar is normal-size? I See it very small...

  • Yup its just a normal size PRS

  • Line 6

  • PRS! Good guitar

  • i had 2 watch the vid 2 times cos of the gay comments. the morley wins again. it seems to focus on the mids and lows more than the crybaby and the flextone, which i have used before. the morley also has a great high end.

  • had to watch is a second time cos of the gay comments, but i think the morley wins again. it seems to focus on the mids and lows more than the other two, but has a great high end as well

  • i thought the guy on the left was brandon dicamillo !!!

  • I like how that guy is just sitting there reading a book, as if nothing's happening.

    But anywho, Morley

  • i like the line 6 one

  • they are all amazing it seems but i think the flextone takes it for this style, the morley isnt far behind though because of its sweep range

  • cry baby sounds the best to me

  • Comment removed

  • what?

  • Comment removed

  • uh no i have dyslexia haha and what i ment was how...

  • Where does he say he is gay?

  • Haha the internet is weird. I am not gay and have been a happily practising hetereosexual for 24 years.

If you watch 100roberthenry's videos you will see that hes a fat, lonely, 'baldy longhaired' kind of chap who feels the need to leave negative comments on other videos to somehow validate himself. Despite being technically proficient on the guitar, his videos are painfully boring and useless to society, hence the lack of views.

  • You showed him

  • The tremonti wah sounds so beast here. It is fat and full sounding.

  • Aman

  • man i like the cry baby its got hendrix in the sound man nice job im looking at wah wah pedals and im gonna try and buy gig-fx VOD and hope to learn to play like you and other amazing guitarists

  • hendrix used the cry baby wah pedal

  • Actually he used a Vox.

  • Nice comparison. Very cool playing!

  • love how gary is sitting there nonchalantly

  • haha =D

  • In my imperfect opinion, the CryBaby seems to suit funk better than the Morley. The Morley's Wah goes too deep for oldschool and funk. I'd prefer the Morley for Heavy Rock and stuff like that.

  • I have the Line6 and the CryBaby

    The Cry Baby acts better?

But even here they kind of sound the same

  • Gooood i love that! Good playing.

Do you have tab or other please?

    Keep on.

  • I dont have tabs Im afraid, its not a song really, I was just messing around with some stuff in the Key of A for the purposes of the video!

  • i hate when people ask for tabs when your just jamming and you cant even remember what you played

  • i see u like to use the prs sc 250 a lot. are all ur guitars prs or do u also have les pauls?

  • Thats the only PRS i own (cant afford to have too many of those kicking around!), the rest are LP's yeh. The PRS Singlecut is by far my favourite guitar

  • line 6 all the way

  • Oh man I want that guitar.

  • love the guitar i just bought one too

  • Its very subjective this sort of thing. Really need to try it urself. I dont particularly like the sound of it using light overdrive and clean, doesnt cut enough, I like a sharper response like the cry baby when playing on clean.

  • Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah. I will need to demo that at some point, or include it in one of these comparisons. From these three, it depends what I am playing. For funk stuff or anything clean or light overdrive thru my Hiwatt I prefer the Cry Baby. For heavy stuff thru my Mesa I prefer the Morley.

  • Hey I have a problem. I got a cry baby dunlop 355Q wah today and at points I would be playing it with a cheap fake strat and a fender FM 212 and the tone would get all nasty, and rough when I was even trying. What would you guess is wrong?

  • Errrm can u be more specific please? When u say nasty, does this happen when the wah is engaged and rocking back and forth? Is it on but left in a fixed position? or is it off?

  • My cable is plugged into the wah, I step off it and it sounds really fuzzy. Then when its not enganged or when it IS enganged it is still really crappy

  • Right check the quality or your cable might be the cable that is broken, failing that insufficient power to the wah, ry running it using the 9v mains input.

  • Yeah in the same electrical input I have my 100 Watt amp and a huge flouresent light and today I turned off and unplugged the light it was great! Thanks for the advice man. Do you borrow some of those effects (that you sort of review)?

  • Cool glad you sorted the problem. As for borrowing pedals, I dont no they are all mine, I have quite a large setup. The Morley wah isnt mine however its my bandmates Gazpots, but evey other pedal thats appeared in my videos I own.

  • Bhahaha, when the Dunlop kicks in, it sounds like theme music from one of those old cop shows from, like, the 70's or something! :D

Amazing sounding wah. The crybaby wins in my opinion.

  • Haha brought a smile to my face that did haha...

  • for me, its a tie between Line 6 and Dunlop. I really like the tone of the line 6 wah, but theres something that draws me to the dunlop. Not sure what it is though.

  • is gazpots a bandmate of yours? just curious. oh and by the way, do you happen to have a Vox 847 wah? would sure like to see a demo of that one. thanks!

  • Yeh Gazpots is a bandmate of mine. We were writing some new material for the band and decided to do a few quick demos. I have a few I will upload later in the week of him playing.

Unfortantely I dont own a Vox dude. I have a Fulltone Clyde on the way tho.

  • oh, too bad, i wanted to hear a comparison with these pedals you demoed. well anyway thanks for this demo and looking forward to your clyde demo because presently I'm looking for a good wah pedal. thanks! one last thing. haven't been updated lately about your band. is your EP out already?

  • Cool Ill post one when I get the pedal dude. Will be posting to more wah demos the same format as this one next week. They have been recorded but not uploaded.

EP aint out yet, things have been delayed as I was abit ill for the last few months. Will get it released soon we hope. CD and iTunes.

    Cheers man

  • lol. i hope things worked out fine dude. will be waiting for the clyde demo. more power to VF. thanks for the update!

  • awsome playing!!!

    zoom g9 or digitech rp500??

  • Thanks

Havent played either of them dude, afraid I couldnt comment.

  • what multifx would you recommend for me??

Style: Metal, Classic Rock, Funky etc

    Budget: 350 euros

  • Its been years since I looked at any of the newer models dude. I have Boss GT-6 i bought when it first came out. Never had any problems with it. I would perhaps look into the Line 6 Flextone Amps. Maybe the Line 6 Pod XT Live and the Boss GT range.
