@SavageArms357 Eidos said something like that years ago...that thief should take place in a more modern setting to attract younger gaming generations......but we all hope they threw this stupid idea away!
When I was little, my next door neighbor gave me all his old games, seeing as he had no time to play them with a kid and a full time job. Among them was Thief 2. It sure wasn't the prettiest game at the time, but to me it's a hell of a lot better than most games out today. Nothing even comes close to old thief.
@PROSTO4Tabal hopefully..but in my opinion they did'nt fuck up T3......they only made some wrong choices to some gameelememts like NO ROPE ARROWS or the 2 parted levels. but for me personally it was the best story so far. it sucked me in and everything was so mysterious. you could visit the keepers place, explore their library, moving shadows, "open" world, go to jail....it didnt have the feeling as the first games but it had other things that were great too.....but MY opinion ;)
What will make it disappointing if becomes like some many other once great PC only games a console ported POS. Looks to me like it will be. The Amnesia game I never heard of but I read up on it, and they have seemed to get the immersion concept right. So many games just completely fail because they try to make the game into a movie, and apply stupid effects only seen through a camera lens which blows the immersion... BF3 is a prime example of how not to do 1st person.
I think they're making him look too ninja-like in these pictures, like they did in TDS. The best part about the first two games was that you could be a stealth master or a sword wielding crusader if you wanted; I want a huge claymore not a shitty little dagger, and rope-arrows instead of lame climbing gloves!
@MrRandomRichard only played the demo, awesome atmosphere....but do we want a horror game or a creepy stealth game ?....after the great DEUS EX HR i'm optimistic with THIEF 4....
@Sc0ttPrian And the other installments didn't? Thief 1 & 2 provided a great dark and creepy feel, especially with the weird nature place in thief 2 and the undead soldiers in thief 1. The horror aspect in Thief 3 was okay enough, but surely not needed with the great creepy parts and all. But that's just my opinion. No horror parts, merely 'really-creepy' parts.
