  • Nice work. Makes me want to play bass a little more over my normal instrument, the guitar.

  • Nice one.

  • Although you'd get away with playing it as you are, you're missing a lot of ghost notes.

On the main riff (intro) JT doesn't just play a ghost note on the 2nd note. He plays it on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th. There are loads more ghost notes in the solo too.

One or two notes in the chorus are not correct either. Send me your email address and I will forward you the actual bassline played by JT. You can slow it down with windows media player and will be able to hear it note for note.

  • Wow, Fantastic sound *5

  • nice playing but why don't you use the left hand pinky ?

  • on your bass are the knobs just replaced or is that one of the old j basses that had the concentric knobs

  • Will use this to learn this song. My three piece band is looking to do this.

    Thanks,

    PMS.

P.S. check my band out and leave a comment if you wish.

  • Ibanez i love any jazz bass and you play pretty smooth. but your just not funky enough buddy. no poping? This is john taylor your covering not lawrence welks bassist gotta get some pop in those cctives

  • hahaha that was awesome.. If I popped in the octaves it would sound like someone hitting the side of a aluminum shed with a bag of nails LOL..

    I suck at slap..

  • @fishfan67 This is not jazz bass |:^|

  • Great cover, and nice, relaxed RH hand raking technique. Your bass looks wonderful. Is it seafoam green with perloid pickguard?

  • goooooooooodddddd......very gooooood....but why don t you use the last finger?

  • 1:05

  • nice! :DD

  • arnt you the happy one ;)

  • your leaving a lot of shit out of that.

  • Wow, very well done !!!

  • I've been watching a lot of your videos on here, and you did a bangup job with this one. Great work!

  • Brett! Top notch!

  • thanks its a fun song once you get it under your fingers and up to speed... Now I can play it like its no ones business :)

  • great job, you really nailed this song! the only suggestion i have for you is to try to dig in, even a little bit. your fingers just kind of glide over the strings on all the songs, and it gets lost in the mix sometimes with a very quiet muddy tone. but other than that all of your covers are perfectly played

  • its not so much the tone is muddy its youtubes compression that kills it.. Almost all the high end in my tone is gone thanks to youtube. The original video sounds nothing like this video..

:( wish I could fix it but I guess youtube has to pay for bandwidth and they dont want my 89 meg video sitting here.. So they compress the crap out of it till its about 1-2megs.
