This was the first MST3K I ever saw and the one that got me into the whole series. I'm an avid Godzilla fan and have them all, and seeing this one in this way got me hooked on MST3K. This will always be my favorite.
But...but...Godzilla is only in the movie for, like, 15-20 minutes! That's a supporting role AT BEST! Why didn't they just name the movie "Jet Jaguar vs Megalon, feat. Godzilla"? Guess the Big Guy is so popular over there that he gets first billing for what is essentially a guest spot.
originally Godzilla was not going to be in the movie and it was just going to be Jet Jaguar, but they put him in at the last minute for marketing value, you wanna see an awesome Godzilla movie try the 90's version of Godzilla vs King Chidora, Godzilla final wars, Giant monsters all out attack, Destroy all Monsters or hell go for the original
The Joel era had it's moments indeed, and the Mike Nelson era had it's fair share of clunker episodes as well. I still miss the show and wish someone would resurrect it . Film Crew and Rifftrax are pale comparisons to the original. The Rifftrax shorts are better than the features. I finally got to see the entire "Mr. Bungle" short in it's entirity. Very funny. The bike safety one where the kids are wearing these creepy monkey masks is twisted as they are bumped off one by one.
@madahad9 I agree, I saw the bicycle safety short on Wolfman Macs Chiller Drive In and it was the creepiest short I've ever seen (and that includes the MST3K send up of "A Date With My Family, which was also creepy!!!")
I just think the Mike Nelson period had more energy than the Joel Robinson. I understand they must have had a budget of a buck and a quarter to work with but there is just something dull and lathargic about those early episodes. But they did have Manos so it wasn't all bad.

I've heard the original version actually has a scene in which pornographic images can be seen on a wall in the background, but that may just be a rumor.

It was still hit and miss at times there was some fall on the floor funny moments as well. This episode rovoked a couple chuckles. Manos is still among the best episodes. Also love The Neptune Men, Prince of Space, Alien From LA, and Pod People.

I remember watching this show on saturday mornings in the early 90s. I grew up in Hopkins MN and it was only a week ago I learned that MST3K was filmed in a studio only two miles from where I grew up! Talk about a missed opportunity.
@starwarsfanboy1138 Well, they got rid of the invention exchanges because that was Joel's thing and his original standup where Gizmonic Institute was created. They said Mike took that out, as well as the letter because it freed them up for what they were going to do in each segment.
Jet Jaguar's was not by far one of the top Godzilla movies ever made in fact one of the bottom feeders of the whole history on the king's saga. MST really filled in w/their humor to make a lame film funny & entertaining to watch.

the movies of mst3k are technicly copyrighted, and toho in particular is very stingy about copyright, and youtube takes down anything that presents any kind of threat in copyright. heck, even the dvd of this one got taken off the shelves because toho claimed copyright. it's stupid, it's cynical, it makes little sense and it's no fun, but hey, thats buisness. but hey, maybe we'll get lucky on this one and it won't get taken down. cross your fingers, i know i am.

@JackieChanFan2000 The Japanese companies that did the Godzilla and Gamera movies MST3K watched were really offended by the whole ordeal. The only reason we have Gamera DVDs now is because the copyrights shifted to a North American company that didn't have any problems with the MST3K.
the episodes are public domain. the movies are not. and most of the componies that own the movies are not so awesome. but hey, i really do hope i am wrong.

I remember watching this show on saturday mornings in the early 90s. I grew up in Hopkins MN and it was only a week ago I learned that MST3K was filmed in a studio only two miles from where I grew up! Talk about a missed opportunity.

@starwarsfanboy1138 Well, they got rid of the invention exchanges because that was Joel's thing and his original standup where Gizmonic Institute was created. They said Mike took that out, as well as the letter because it freed them up for what they were going to do in each segment.

Jet Jaguar's was not by far one of the top Godzilla movies ever made in fact one of the bottom feeders of the whole history on the king's saga. MST really filled in w/their humor to make a lame film funny & entertaining to watch.
Man this film takes me back when I watch it now, thank you for posting. I loved it! :)

the movies of mst3k are technicly copyrighted, and toho in particular is very stingy about copyright, and youtube takes down anything that presents any kind of threat in copyright. heck, even the dvd of this one got taken off the shelves because toho claimed copyright. it's stupid, it's cynical, it makes little sense and it's no fun, but hey, thats buisness. but hey, maybe we'll get lucky on this one and it won't get taken down. cross your fingers, i know i am.

@JackieChanFan2000 copyright laws. legally, youtube can not have any videos that contain copyrighted material at all if it wasn't provided by the company itself. So Viacom, who owns either mst3k or the movies, will get it taken down.

@JackieChanFan2000 The Japanese companies that did the Godzilla and Gamera movies MST3K watched were really offended by the whole ordeal. The only reason we have Gamera DVDs now is because the copyrights shifted to a North American company that didn't have any problems with the MST3K.
