I love the song, I'm actually working on a painting inspired in part by the tall mirror line. But last night I had a nightmare about those creepy-as-hell masks! Aaahhhhhh!!!
You can really see a difference with Syd Barrets pink floyd as opposed to Waters pink floyd or Gilmours. Syds pink floyd soudned more acid rock type. thats cause syd was highly into acid and influenced it on the whole band. but follwoing with syds departure the band really did stop doing acid and shrooms and what not. im not syiang they didnt do it alot cause they certaintly did. but not as much after syd. hardly ever. and it may just be me but i dont like the acid rock sounding stuff
@Bubblewrap34 Yeah, true. Syd was influenced by acid, but Gilmour just smoked some weed. It makes a big difference. They're both great, but I prefer Syd.
@08k2brja Ok, maybe I was a little too strong in my reaction, and taste IS something completely individual, but what I like(d) about the "early" Pink Floyd is the fun and the humor in the songs, the weird sort of happiness in the music itself. That disappeard ( most of the time ) in their later work, in came the seriousness, the need to " overwhelm " the audience with their light and sound -show ...Not my piece of cake, sorry. But, I admit, they where ( are still !) great musicians ...
@willywaw Errm, maybe not. You see, the big differences for me are that Pink Floyd's later works are genius compilations of musical excellence. This is fair enough, in a sort of happy-for-lucky, cheesy Beatles genre (No offence to Beatles intended).
@Willywaw it is the best of pink floyd, their psychedelic works with barret still in it were fucking great, but their later works are still really good, its really like two different bands

@08k2brja No, they did things the beatles couldn't do. With a shit load of shrooms and acid.

@08k2brja
nobody ever grasps that the music world was forever altered, and influenced, by the 60's. not to mention bloody technology!
