In Kurzweil's defense he does go to great effort to describe future machine intelligence as our *human* descendents, first as a hybrid between existing biological and non-biological, then inevitably something more ethereal. He does not talk about a loss of humanity in this process, but a continuation of it.

is it wise to base wisdom off of wikipedian based knowledge whose disinformed entries include the false records of the events that occured on 9/11/01 as fact? the present presented knowledge of the masses cannot and should not be trusted as "facts" because they are clouded and manipulated in accordance to the agendas of those who control the present presentable "facts" of the masses. trust only the truth when it rings true in your heart.
