It KILLS me as well to see The CHURCH actually "lip-syncing"!! LOL!! But as ANYONE knows, this was not their "decision" to lip-sync on some cheezy TV show...no doubt that was a PR gig. Hey, that's the way a LOT of shows did it. No worries, though, as anyone who actually knows this band is aware...they actually DO know how to play and they just plain ROCK! It's not even a question. Plus, if you notice closely, you can just feel the disdain for having to actually do that "circus act". :-)
...But hey, they LOOK GREAT, don;t they?? That's what it is all about for this show, folks. It's a VIDEO. Like ALL music videos, they have to lip sync...embarrassing as it is. Given that, these guys even lip sync well...true professionals. If you still doubt the Church are legendary players, please check out their other stuff and see the light. Anyway, I hadn't seen this vid, and was curious. Now I know.. Oh well. But they certainly do LOOK GREAT, don't they?? Long live The Church!!
well they lip synced on every performance of countdown (ACDC from memory where the only band that didnt .. hmmmm... Maybe cold chisel too). BUT tis is only TV ...I dont see the issue . .
HOWEVER... The question should be.... where is David Linley and his magic mandolin???
It shows that The Church were more than the "Under a milky way". The Starfish album is one of those rare gems that can be played from first to the last track. One of my all time fav CDs.
Great underated band. One of the most psychodelic influenced of all. Bands like these don't appear in these pro-tools age. Thanks a lot for posting the video. It made my day.

Lip sync to the studio track. They seem a little sheepish. Great song though.
