  • SHOWTIME!

  • The Bulls in NBA Jam for SNES had Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant. The tournament edition had Scottie Pippen, BJ Armstrong, and Tony Kukoc. No one had Jordan. But I do remember that only the Sega version had Barkley on Phoenix and not the SNES version. And I was pissed about that.

  • wait so there was no in game music for the snes version? genesis was way better

  • Best bball game ever! Nice to see you picked Minny. They were/are my team as well. Timberwolves were the best kept secret in this game, mainly cuz Isaiah Rider was UNSTOPPABLE! Best dunker in the game! Rider and West were the most underrated duo in the game as well imo. They complemented each other pefectly Also loved the rookie team with Jalen Rose, Jason Kidd, and Grant Hill.

  • I played this in the arcade a lot. Might be my most played arcade cabinet after ghouls and ghosts

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo MyYyyYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

  • Boomshakalakamakacaca is heating up

  • acctually the announcer and the music is better on sega genesis, more exciting to play on sega cuz of the announcer and the gameplay and the sage buttons are so great!

  • i set a record by scoring 230 points in this game a long long time ago.

  • I'm WAY late for this, but I like the Saturn version. Very close to the arcade.

  • Magic for life :)

  • BOOMSHAKALAKA!!!!!!

  • Best sports game ever.

  • Genesis was better because of the in game music

  • <3 SEGA Systems R.I.P

  • i still play this lol. playin with tha clintons is fuckn hilarious and dont 4get them power ups. that be some screwed up business like the dunk power up......unexplainable but tha best one ever!!!!!!!!!!

  • i still play this lol. playin with tha clintons is fuckn hilarious

  • no hot spots or power-ups

  • Yeah the sega version is superior! So excited to be teaching an Experiemental College course on NBA Jam TE for segaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What happened to "At the buzzer!"?

  • head fake head fake!!!

  • I've got both the original and the tournament edition versions of NBA JAM on Megadrive (and the game guide for NBA JAM T.E.).

My favourite bit (on T.E.) was the dunk power up, since it would send you flying from one side of the court to the other to do a dunk!

Ahhh... The unrealism of NBA Jam... :D

  • hold up.. you actually picked the timberwolves?

  • Yeah!

  • Rider and West FTW!

  • and fake, and fake, ugly shot!

  • i thought it was "head fake"

  • Headfake Headfake

  • Loved doing the Helicopter Dunk (Basically as high as the Super Cannonball Dunk but your spinning with the ball in 1 hand legs spred and your spinning, you hear chopper noise and, then after the dunk you get Fantastic or Boomshakalaka!!!, Loved doing that in the Genesis and 32X versions

  • damn this game brings back memories

  • who knows where i can play it online without downloading

  • Can't do it, gotta get an emulator (illegal)

I just went into a junk store today and found the SNES version though, you otta go to some junk shops to find an SNES or Genesis (although I recommend the SNES version for better sound!)

  • FROM DOWNTOWN!!!!!!!

  • BOOMSHAKALAKA!!!!

  • I love that phrase.

  • Whenever it was said when I was playing I would do the "shake and bake."

  • LOL

  • It was fun beating the shit out the same guy after you knocked him down. Just stand over him and right as he gets up, shove him again. It brought hours of fun and entertainment.

  • Showtime.

  • SNES version was much better.

  • Why? I always prefered the Sega version.

  • @stevelatinner Did any nba jam game had Michael Jordan?

  • @Deadshot089 No, because by the time, Jordan owned his own likeness and image, not the NBA, so Midway would've had to pay his steep fee to include him. Not until NBA Live 2000 did someone (EA) pony up the money to include him, with the exception of the game based off of Space Jam.

  • @JamieinMN I prefer the Genesis one since has has smoother gameplay, in game music, and, oddly enough, better graphics.

  • @JamieinMN the super nintendo version sucks compared to the genesis

  • I can't win at all at any video game. Lost to my mom yesterday.

  • i think i should be in the guiness book of world records because i once scored 230 points with scottie pippen in this game. i look back at that and can't imagine how i did it.

  • man this is my fav sports game of all time. playing as the clintons, will smith and even the makers of the game or mascots was fun. the dunks were the best. i should be in the guiness book of world records because i once scored 230 points with scottie pippen in this game. i look back and dont know how i did it.

  • Welcome to NBA Jam!!!!

  • the swishes sound like the passes

  • this was a kick ass game in the arcades around '92, '93, back when the NBA was huge in popularity due to Jordan...the console versions left a lot to be desired though

  • i never got a chance to play this in the arcades. I had it for the genesis. What would you say is the best console version?

  • You got it.
