  • that fucking bitch myrtle stands out

  • One of my favorite Disney movies of ALL TIME!!!

  • Anyone else notice how amazingly short all the children are? My 2 year old nephew is taller than how they would stand in real life.

  • THANKS FOR THE 'OKINA. its so hard to read without it

  • i love haWAAAAAAAAAAAAAI

  • I'm learning Hawaiian next year at college =) I'm so excited!

  • I sing this song, randomly when im in the car! its really pretty :)

    who sing's it?

  • @MissSparkles10 its Mark Kealiʻi Hoʻomalu, he is a chanter from Hawaii :D

  • Does anybody know the name of the woman who taught/chaperoned the children's choir? I have a hunch that she's my first grade teacher.

  • i've been taking polynesian dance since i was five and this is one of the first songs i learned hula to...and it's still one of my favorite dances :)

  • i wanna live in Hawaiiii....i listen to this song whenever i feel down, like right now bc i have 2 midterms tomorrow and a philosophy paper due....fml......*replays song* ahhh ok much better now =)

  • Hawaii Should be its own Territory..

  • @Briheeds it's kinda easy to learn it i have the chorus down

  • This is the best video evrz, Thumbs up for hawaiians (i am hawaiian for those of you wondering why i would do this if i wasnt xD)

  • Thanks for the subs, I've been trying to memorize this song for awhile! Lilo and Stitch is one of my favorite Disney movies, mostly because of it's beautiful location! I love Hawai'i!

  • About the name 'He Mele No Lilo' Why is it not on the Hawaiian subs

  • @SimpleJars I think it basically means Lilo's theme, or Song of Lilo, so i guess that's why it's not in there. But this sounds like it could be a folk song or something... does anyone know if it was written for the movie?

  • @infinitytheinu No it wasn't written for the movie, the name of the song is He mele inoa o Kalakaua. It's a name song for the last reigning king of Hawai'i. The song was disgustingly taken and re-named for a cartoon by Mark keali'i largely considered a sell out.

  • @808Productionz Huh. Well then, there ya go xD

  • Sometimes, I think Hawaii should be an independent country I mean they have their own language culture, and religion

  • @marvelgirlmarvel They were, my friend, they were... I suggest the very interesting book "Hawaii", by James E. Michener, or something on their very rich history... Their destiny is similar to the other cultures that had a p.o.v. different to the white man...

  • @marvelgirlmarvel I wish that was possible. Captain James Cook came in and completely destroyed Hawaii and it is now a tourist attraction.

  • Le dernier Disney qui ne fut pas une insulte au dessin animé.

Cette chanson est juste MAGNIFIQUE ♫ !

  • @LittleBayPony-- They're dancing the hula, in Hawai'i. How dumb do you have to be to not know it's Hawaiian? Just wondering. You sounded pretty stupid to me, so don't get huffy with iCraacked.

  • i dont think its called hawaiian, i think its swahili? i love this song though :D

  • @LittleBayPony What are you talking about? This is Hawaiian, all right.

  • @iCraacked ok, i was just checking. jeez.

  • @LittleBayPony you really do not know anything about cultures yo. swahili is in africa so yeah. Yeeeeee Doggieeee!!!!

  • i love this song :) i'm trying to learn hawaiian, i think it is such a beautiful language :)

  • It reminds me of my Classmates.. 2-A Simplicity!!

  • aaah I love listening to this. it reminds me how wonderful these islands I call home are! Kau Inoa baby!!! look it up!

  • my boyfriend and i were at this hawaiian show thing at the beach and the girls begin dancing to this song and we both go at the same time "OH MY GOD THATS FROM LILO & STITCH" (: <3

  • i loe this song and for my polynesian club, i'm learning to dance to this song and i think we even have 2 sing 2 it too..i'msooo excited to preform it!! its soo preety

  • aue! I love this song. Mahalo nui loa. It's so cute.

  • Thnx a lot! I really like this song since I was, like, 4 or 5. That time, I hummed it when I felt like it :D

  • I love this song :)›.

  • i love this song

  • Who Sings This Song ??

  • Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu sings

  • I'm part hawaiian, and its VERY hard to learn the language. I know because I am learning it for my 16th birthday so i can sing this song at the party.

  • i taught myself how 2 speak their lanugage...it may not b rite but its the thought tat counts

  • Makes me kinda wish I was Hawaiian.

  • @jcurrysan ikr

  • Big ups to the directors and producers for taking in the consideration and respect for the Hawaiian culture. I'm not Hawaiian but its great to know that even though this is a cartoon, its REAL Hawaiian culture. Great Work DISNEY !

Oh yeah and this song is my FAVOURITE in the whole movie =)

  • @PeachyBoo27 I agree with you to an extent. The dance is very good, but overall i'm not so sure. Hawaiians dont necessarily have big round noses and hair completely like that. I am Hawaiian and everyone thinks I should look like Lilo, but trust me, i don't lol. But it's not so bad. And i think this song is really good too. I'm dancing to it for mayday :D

  • @UrRetawded It may depend on your mix as well.

  • @iCraacked true

  • @PeachyBoo27 so true

  • @PeachyBoo27 You're obviously Hawaiian in your heart, and that's all that matters. Secondly, the reason the movie seems so real, is that the Disney company to this day is carrying on Walt's tradition of making it authentic as possible.

  • @w5pda lol. LOL. That's the only tradition that they are carrying on. Walt didn't believe in sequels.. and probably would frown upon their whole music sector.

  • ke hele ana a'o olelo hawai'i i keia manawa . aole hana nui . - go learn hawaiian right now it not hard . u jus need patience and yes there are swear words but its meanings are strong than english but mean the same thing

  • @rayboy808

Aloha! What ould call a sweetheat, as in, a kind hearted person, in Hawaiian. I know kumu(with kahakos on both u's) is there, but that from what I know is a slang term and not a word one would go around saying to anyone.

  • At my school there having a Hawaiian Day and since i'm Hawiian i'm gonna learn the dance to this song AGAIN and do the dance @ school. I used to know the dance a long time ago but then i 4got it.

  • i know the dace to this song im hawaiian and i love this song

  • `O Kalakaua he inoa, `O ka pua mae `ole i ka la... :) ♥

  • oh wow i want to learn how to speak hawaiian noow! :D

  • Hawaian is a very peaceful language and it is very beautiful and this song is great i love it

  • Hawaiian is a very beautiful, lilting language.

  • so great,i would like to learn hawaian language! *-*

  • it is harder than you think. i have had Hawaiian studies since kindergarten and i am still horrible.

  • really? :D so cool!

well the pronunce is really really simple.

well for italian and japanese is simple pronunce hawaiian, but is has really few sounds.

i wonder how grammar is o_o

  • the hawaiian language is simple to learn but saying it is different

if you mispronounce a word not only you will get the word wrong you'll screw the whole translation

  • It makes me want to learn Hawaiian ^_^

  • I'm really trying to sing along, but it's kinda hard... grr! I'll do this! ^_^;;

  • it didn't take me too long to get this song down. just keep practicing you'll get it.

  • i can almost sing word for word on this song

  • favorite song from this movie

  • i wish i knew how to pronounce and speak this beautiful language

  • i know the dance and a little bit of the song not a lot but now i know how to dance this song

  • hehe oh wow i can actually sing along to this :) i hav a friend who loves learning new languages. he can speak some hawaiian nd taught me how to pronounce all the words to this song properly :)

  • Hawaiian very similar to maori language

  • I love this language so much. I'd really like to learn it but there are virtually no programs where I live.

I'll just have to learn by myself until college :)

Anyways thank you so much for this! Hawaiian is such a beautiful language

  • Oliver your so Funny!

  • i love this song but its almost impossible to pronounce! I think its the apostrophes that are confusing me.

  • i totally agree! :D

  • its an okina

    for example 'oi

  • King Kamehameha I, was the person who unified all of the Hawaiian islands(Ni'ihau, Kaua'i, 'Oahu, Moloka'i, Maui, Lana'i, Kaho'olawe, And Hawai'i(Big Island)). He was the first king of Hawaii, a great one. Thus, Kamehameha the great.

I went to Hawaiian speaking and cultural classes since pre-school.

  • actually he didn't conquer kaua'i

The chief of Kaua'i made a deal with Kamehameha.

I attended Ke Kula 'O Kaiapuni

    you?

  • Uuuh, Just Thought To Mention, In English Is Kalakaua, But In Hawiian Its Kal'kaua (:

    Great Subs Tho ;D

  • Ah geez, after singing English and Japanese and French and all that, it's like "HOW THE EFF DO YOU PRONOUNCE THIS D:"

I wanna sing it so bad Dx

  • you sang this song in all thos languages?

  • Oh, no, lol. It's just that after learning the pronounciation of Japanese, and seeing some of the words in the song, it takes me a while to get it xD

  • Have you every tried singing in Dutch, not very easy. So many of the sounds are really weird how they are pronounced. I can pronounce Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Hawaiian, and Tolkien Elvish pretty well though.

  • I am Dutch so it's not so hard to me to sing it ;)

  • Nope, I tend to sing more of the English and Japanese songs.

  • you realize that Hawaiian has the same pronunciation as Japanese?

  • I am maori and speak the reo, and you are correct in saying that Hawaiian has the same pronunciation as we maori use the same vowel pronunciation as the Japanese, not meaning that I can speak your language or anything like that, but it is similar in that aspect

  • yep... except for the R and L thing... which is kinda the same... both sound cute, anyway ^^

  • Think really hard. What part of the world did the natives come from?

  • the natives are Polynesian, I hope i spelled it right....lol

  • the vowels are the same, but some of the other things, like the w, are different...

  • lol elvish

  • That's what I thought! But no one else thought so.

  • Hawaiian vowels are pronounced like Japanese vowels

  • no, not really.

    some are different.

examp. you can say wi in japanese.

    :P it'd be wui

    XD

  • i think the Hawaiian language originates from Japanese. it has similar pronunciation and the people that first populated Hawaii were originally Japanese. i think

  • NO IT DOESN'T!!!!!

i HAPPEN TO BE A NATIVE!

ME AND MY PEOPLE COME FROM POLYNESIA!!!!!!!!!

  • Would anyone believe I listened to my Lilo & Stitch Sountrack for 2 hours straight so I could pronounce all the words to this song? And memorized it?

  • I think I'm there but I still have to watch this to get through the entire song. I wouldn't be able to just start singing it by memory.

  • All I said was that I want to speak the language, why the hostility?

  • I wish I could speak Samoan(spelling?), it is a great language.

  • All I said was that I want to speak the language, why the hostility?
