You know how in Japan M.Bison is Balrog? I think there was a rights issue because calling a boxing character M.Bison when he looks very similar to Mike Tyson could possible lead to some copyright infringement. So they swapped some names around. Anyway, in the original Street fighter game there is a Character called Mike who looks very much like Balrog, and Balrog was known as M.Bison originally. Does the M stand for Mike? And if so are they considered the same character in japan?
