i had a 2004, i loved it, then i traded it,, im gonna buy a 2011, bag it, shave it, body kit for 3500.. but thats the look i want... its bigger, stronger and has more room in the back, its not good on gas but with time comes change.. the new one will grow on ya, just like the original toaster did back in 04 when i bought mine..

It's interesting how so many people (at least on the internet) seem to hate the new xB, and talk about how much better the first one is. The interior, drivetrain, chassis, and standard features were all hugely improved. To me the second gen is obviously superior, and yet a lot of people wouldn't be caught dead in it just because it's too rounded. Seems like a lot of sacrifices to make just to look "good".

I love my 04 xb but just watch a crash test on the old models..... I'll take a less sharp, but much much safer 2nd gen xb any day.

@i90east That depends on what you want in your car. The 2nd gen xB is better in a lot of ways. It has a more comfortable ride and it's safer. Plus it has about 50 more horsepower.

yeah...Scion made a good choice by improving on everything and open up to a wider market with it's new design. Alot of people that hated the old "Papa Chulo" design now considering buying a Scion .

the 2010 model fixed alot of stupid things people complain anout 2008 models....like the pioneer power is now on the left side....usb input added...pioneer player can read all your root folder and sub folders of your mp3 files including folder names , tags,,, etc.

The fact that you could DIE by being hit in the side in a 2006 xB might be a selling point for the 08. The 08 has received perfect scores on all 3 tests of IHS (front-offset impact, side impact, rear impact) and you have a stronger engine which means it's easier to merge in traffic or quickly accelerate in terms of oncoming danger. The new 08 is much better, especially after you mod it like I did with mine.

Ok so why did they have a guy that was totally biased do the review for this? Alot of the points he makes are bogus. Plus there's alot of stuff he didn't cover like traction control, stability control, improved safety and the iPod/MP3 capability. This guy needs to focus more on the facts about this car rather than his own personal taste when doing the review I prefer the look of the new 08 XB. It's not as "cheap" as the older model in several ways plus it doesn't look as dated.

i still love my gen 1 '06 xB! its fun to drive! i think that for the gen 3 they need to find a happy medium btwn the first two generations...dont let it lose its originality by sanding off its sharp edges...but give it a better engine and more stock features...but til then i'll stick with my awesm little toy box! oh and ps this is a vehicle directed towards youth... so granny and paw dont go trading in ur avalons!

A friggan s2000 with 240 horsepower and weighs in at about 2500 lbs does 0-60 in 6 seconds. Theres no way you can do 0-60 with a box in 6 seconds.

I had the '05 XB and now have the '08 XB. The ride is better, there is more room, feel safer having our mo'opuna (5) in it, better turning radius, more space (for groceries etc.etc.etc.) Of course, don't have 31 mpg, however we're OK with 27. Couldn't pass up the excellent trade-in deal! Also use a seniors annual bus pass here in Honolulu for lazy days so we do our part. Works for us!
