Fun fact: in Japan they NEVER used the idiom "hentai game" or "hentai doujin" to indicate games/doujinshi of erotic nature. They would say "ero-game" (abbreviated "eroge") or "ero-doujinshi", simply. The West has been misusing the word "hentai" all along.

Halo 3 stole the term, not these guys. Deus Ex Machina is ancient Greek: literally translated it means "God/Divinity come from the Machine" Originally it was a theatrical term meaning a character or object that is magically shows up to save the day. Like a God resurrecting the hero at random, or they wake up and the whole thing was a dream. Thanks to the Japanese, the modern usage has come to mean that machines will make us into Gods, or Divinity thru machines (Cybergod).

Actually it's both. Deus means God or deity in Latin or it also mean Divinity in Greek it was also a cognate for the God Zeus. You need to remember that most of the Latin language is based upon early Greek dialects which in turn are closely related to Vedic Sanskrit and Proto-Mycenaean languages. Just like how modern English is based on Latin, Germanic, French, and Anglo-Saxon. Of Course each of those are also based on older, often interrelated dialects of language.
