Villa tasted sweet justice. Can't complain. As a Blackburn fan, feeling robbed in the semi final when Villa scored their first on the 6-4 match, it was a foul. Shouldn't of stood. Therefore I feel Vidic not being sent off is brilliant.

im a villa fan but we really need to move on yes it was a red card and he should have gone but there nothing you can do about that united were the better team and deserved the win but it would have been a completely different game if vidic would have gone as in owen would of been took off so collins wudnt have denied him a chance

I was there in the united end, and yer as vidic did that i think everyone thought fuck hes gone, but the rule book states that the striker(agbonlahor) turned back round, not facing the goal and vidic pulled him down resulting in not a clear chance, so its not a red card. But overall villa were outclassed in the 2nd half and united deserved the win :)

Then Villa should have it's whole team removed for denying itself of many goals. Does that logic stand up. Of course if you wanted to win you would have scored more goals or at least tried to score more. Why complain when you lose by a goal. Go and score 4-5 goals then you won't need to complain.

we deserved it villa 1-2 utd not our fault phil down is a shit ref n as a utd fan i thought vidic cud of got sent off but maybe the ref thought it was too early in the game

The Laws of the Game stipulate that a player be sent off for denying a goal scoring opportunity, as Vidic did by pulling back and then tripping Agbonlahor. The resulting Penalty Kick is because the foul was inside the box. Had the foul been outside the box, it would have been a direct free kick from the point of the foul. Very basic stuff, Phil Dowd made a huge mistake.
