@billyripp Thanks for posting this, alerting me to the story of neglect of the Till casket. A bit ironic that with all the archives, museums, and foundations - i.e., MONEY - dedicated to the history of the US civil rights movement, no one bothered to keep an eye on the Till casket. Perhaps, as usual, the concern of institutions is not the well-being of people, but the well-being of the institutions.
This trial gave "Justice" the same beating these bigots gave poor little Emmet, God rest your soul little man. I pray that god will give you the justice our world robbed you of.
It's clear Satan still runs the world lets check the word of God!
"Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” 10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’[e]”
@GuerillaInThaMidst But without the American legal system, the "American black man" would not exist! There's no common definition of "black man" but what the court gave us : the "one-drop" rule (that makes Obama a "black" president). Courts stemmed the rising tide of colorless by checking miscegenation, and thus maintained the divisions that make it possible today to still be talking of a mythical "American black man": invented by the US legal system. The worst prison of America is in our minds.
this video gave me mixed emotions i was sad then i was angry and last i was happy because those men and that wicked old ugly hag are all burning or gonna burn in hell but before that they will get a nice well erned punch in the face by Apolion the angel over hell so they thought they got away with it but they didnt there punishment has only just begun ONLY GOD CAN GIVE THEM THE PROPORE PUNISHMENT THAT THEY DESERVE. to the person who posted this video thankyou very much for ed me on my history
I can't believe these 2 white men and their women were never harmed by any blacks, they just died natural deaths. They definitely deserved to get killed off.
That's why the things are the way, today. White people are reapin. All these people involved, are facing a Judge, they can't lie to,or get away from. Hell, is a place that isn't segregated, and of constant torture.
@justJunya is this your video? ive never heard this story untill today im sad to say. what ever happend to the two men who murdered the boy? and are they still alive? and why after laws was changed they didnt go back to court like they did on medger evers? thanks for your time.
@39tommyboy Who put this thing together? ME! That's who!
Sorry - a Tony Montana moment.
As shown in the video, both men died of cancer (1980 and 1994). The Medgar Evans case was reopened in 1994. FBI opened the Emmett Till case in 2005, issued a report (available online), but failed to indict. The state reopened the case against Carolyn Bryant in 2007, but also failed to indict. Links to more info at headcity.com page, given above. Also, see Wikipedia.
@justJunya thanks so much for taking your time to respond. they didnt teach about these problems when i went to school. or the history of it. in the town i grew up in the nearest black family lived about 40 miles away. and since there was no blacks and since we lived in oklahoma then the indians was looked down upon. and since i was indian i realized once i got into high school how whites felt about us by not letting me date their daughters. lol i would meet the girl up town and go out then.
@39tommyboy Historically, there's been a bit of mixed feelings in white attitudes to the Indian. There's long been a romanticized view of Indian culture - yet that never hindered the land theft and social destruction. It did, however, shape Virgina's legal definition of "white person", because the First Families proudly claimed to be descendants of Pocathontas. So the "Pocahontas loophole" stated that "persons who have one-sixteenth or less of the blood of the American Indian" were still white.
@justJunya thanks for taking your time to explain this to me. it was never taught when i went to school or spoke of. living in oklahoma it was mostly indians. my family came from mississippi on the trail of tears. i see now why. i remember in high school not getting to date some peoples daughters do to the fact i was indian. nothing like the blacks went through but i realized then a piece of racism really did exsist. thanks again.
It's often overlooked that Emmett, though 14, had assumed adult responsibilities defending his mother from an abusive stepfather after his father did not return from WWII, and was probably physically mature. He sure was a snappy dresser! Maybe that little cracker gal, left with the kids and the store, did feel a little threatened-she called him "a man." Maybe she was attracted! But she lied by exaggeration, and Emmett Till died a terrible death as a result.
i know that carolyn bryant was alive as of 2007 and she never had anything to say about this case publicly even after all these years (50 plus). what kind of person can do that? her life must have been a living hell of conscience and guilt after all these years.
justJunya. You are a wise and thoughtful person. Your responses to comments being made are based on logic and are well considered. You look at things from a wide perspective when dealing with the tragedy of Emmett's death and the 'mock' trial. This crime is put into context with the whole subjugation of the 'have-nots' (black and white) by the 'haves'. Nice work. When you start the next revolution count me in. p.s. Threats of harm against the perpetrators only makes us as evil as them.
@sceneyourmusic What a surprising comment - thank you! The comment may be an overstatement, but generosity in praise is not unappreciated: it provides a higher standard for me to strive for.
As the song says - America is waiting, for a message of some sort or another. But the revolution is always in progress - it's always revolving. Each of us needs only to wake up and jump on.
@justJunya I read, see and hear a lot of shite on YouTube. Your words are a shining example of common sense and rationality. How about this. When I start the next revolution I will twitter you. Remember the next revolution will not be televised.
@sceneyourmusic I'm severely challenged by YouTube posts limited to 500 characters. So yes, please do let me know when (and how) you manage to condense a revolution to 140 characters. Perhaps a revolution declared in haiku? Or a Zen koan manifesto?
Coincidentally, I'm working on a video for aspiring revolutionaries: stay tuned...
To: Attorney Gerald Chatham, Criminal Court, Sumner, Mississippi
Kill them rats or die yourselves. Kill them! Or we are blowing up your hole Goddam town -- every stinking ass.
Despite death threats like this, there were no attempts. In 1957 a bullet missed the sheriff. But he had a reputation for extorting moonshiners (who were notorious for protecting their income with guns, not threats). He was a state senator when he died..
man, i never knew who emmett till was until today... im not gonna say im not a racist, Bcos i really dont like seein my Black sisters wit white men (even tho im a Black man that dates white women) im a hypocrite, yes i kno... But the system is white, the law is white and theres no denyin that. white ppl control america and theres nothin us Black folks can do to change that. just kno that sumday this earth will B no more and they wont control shit!!!
@moBBsta52 If the struggle is defined as black vs white in the US then it is hopeless, because the very notion of "black" and "white" people was designed to maintain the system called "white supremacy" (which is really "supremacy of the ruling elite").
But the global effort to shift control from the rulers to the ruled has led rulers to abandon feudalism, slavery, and colonialism for more sophisticated controls. That is proof of the rulers' fear of our rising tide. They know their days are few.
@moBBsta52 I control something? Holy crap. Then again, half of my family is Jewish and came from Europe during the Holocaust, and my great-grandmother was Native American. The rest is WASP, but hey, THAT side of the family is not one we are on speaking terms with, for unrelated reasons. I've been homeless, lived in poverty, briefly moved to California, and I'm only 18. I have no idea what it's like to be black but I sure as hell don't control a thing in this country. That much I do know.
I want to say...Carolyn Bryant is a cowardess snake. Whats soooo funny is her address is on the internet. She lives right next to Martin Luther King Jr. BLVD!!!
"Martin Luther King stood for nonviolence. Now what's Martin Luther King? A street! And I don't give a fuck where you are in America, if you're on Martin Luther King Blvd, there's some violence going down! It ain't the safest place to be..."
The problem is that we as black people have been suffering this kind of injustice for nearly 500yrs. From the same people. Generation after Generation. So we do not need to study these cases as we know we will never get justice from the global white supremacy system. The only way it will chnage is when we decide a life for a life. An that day is coming soon.
@nubic To clarify: I don't speak for, or address, "black" people. In my post, "we" includes all who want to reclaim the earth from rulers who keep us divided and powerless.
I don't see evidence that we understand the system of white supremacy, and its function in justifying the rulers' plunder of the world. No - I see people all over the world who really believed that giving the system a different face and calling it "black" would change things. Obama is Bush, yet look how protest has faded.
@justJunya The rulers who have put the earth in turmoil are white. weather you choose to address it or not. the evidence is cear. They are the ones who have caused and maintain the divisions. The system that we all live in today is a white supremist one. It is to late for "we" as you see it. That time has passed for us. Black people have to look to create their own future for their own people regardless of obama. As we can no longer trust others to give us justice, freedom and equality.
@nubic Those rulers are all men, ruling a system of male supremacy. Should my "we" exclude all men?
I don't address "black" people because I don't know who they are. The US determines blackness using the one-drop rule. That rule is not only unnatural and senseless, it was made by and for the white supremacy system and thus is invalid.
The idea that "black" people exist, distinct from pure "white" people, is the root fallacy of the white supremacy thesis. Yet it still serves the system well.
@nubic It is both cause and effect. The theory/practice of white supremacy evolved as justification: to rally public support/acceptance for commercial schemes that were vile, risky or costly: slavery, colonialism and imperialism. Johnny won't go die in the jungle/desert just to fatten Rockefeller/Halliburton, so tell him he's fighting to save mom and his sweetie from savages. Neoimperialism replaces "white supremacy" with "freedom/democracy". So the effect is social, while the cause is economic.
@nubic Also, just as an aside: regarding root cause, check out what M.L. King Jr. says at the very beginning of part 1 of this video. It's right on the money.
@justJunya But even Martin Luther King jr, one our great sons, was killed by the same enemy. Many of ours sons before and after have stood up for justice for all and have been shot down. By who? King also said How long? Not long for you shall reap what you sow"
Not much has changed today, instead of the lynching by white devils they get the cops to do the killing and the criminal criminal justice system to sanctify it. The laws of nature state that you will reap what you sow.
@nubic Exactly. The value of studying historical cases like this is that (in hindsight) the techniques of oppression and deception are more open, less sophisticated. If we master those techniques (e.g., this mock-trial trick to pacify and thwart justice), then we should be able to spot them in their modern disguises (e.g., the Obama election - with mock "change" and "hope" - to pacify and thwart growing militancy). Then the laws of nature will compel us to actively resist our destruction.
@alihr787 Depends on how you define "just reward". Carol Bryant, who set the crime in motion when she told her story to the killers and who rode with the killers and identified Till for abduction, is alive in Mississippi and has never even been held for questioning.
Well I am certainly not God. I know God forgives people of their sins(even murder). If This Lady Repented Then She Is Forgiven. Some people may not understand this but God sent his only begotten son unto the world and that through him we Might be saved and whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus came to die for the world like you, me, Emmett till, and carol Bryant.
@alihr787 if that is so then fair enough.god may have forgiven carolyn bryant but she should have begged forgiveness from mamie till mobley and her family long before she passed away.she had many years to do so and as far as i know, she has not.that is the sign of an arrogant and obnoxious hypocrite
Delegating cleaning up human mess to divine power seems irresponsible and impious. If we are created in the image of the divine, with intelligence and compassion, then let's stop pushing the Divine Intervention button and start keeping up our end of the deal.
Dear God: Don't sweat the small stuff - human affairs. Got it covered. As I strive to be more worthy of your creation, please don't let a meteorite blow my ass away today.
@justJunya look..im not some overly religious person as you seem to think.yes, human affairs.im just saying that carolyn bryant's silence on the matter has probably not helped.cant bring emmett back i know but if i were a mamber of the family (and i cant speak for them) i would want to know if she felt anything.
"@justJunya look..im not some overly religious person as you seem to think"
The comment begins: "@kathryn8169 No, @alihr787 and all the others calling on God."
That was my shorthand for "Though I'm replying to a post by kathryn8169, this is actually directed to @alihr787 and all the others calling on God." - ie, a distinction is intended. Yes, it's unclear - I knew there was a risk of misunderstanding. But that's life in a world limited to 500 characters. Sorry for the confusion.
@justJunya by the way you may want to think before you make comments about meteorite's blowing ppl away.i live in a place where many bombs have claimed people's lives including that of my own family
As you probably know, a meteorite is not a bomb or related to a bomb in any way.
There are no records in modern times of anyone killed by a meteor strike. At worst, based on observed meteorite falls and the world population, the likelihood of a fatal meteorite is calculated as one death every 60 years. Hence, a comment about meteorites should hardly be cause for disturbance. That was my thinking.
Yet, one never knows what a reader will personalize and find offensive.
@justJunya i did know that.indeed it was the blown away part that upset me.i understand that you may not be familiar with the situation the people in this part of my country has suffered so i will let this go.RIP Emmett Till
@preyivan Not all died: the killers' wives are still alive in Mississippi, refusing to talk about the case. And one of the killers' 5 lawyers, Robert Harvey Henderson, is still alive.
There was a LONG time between the going around and coming around: one of the killers (Milam) died 25 years after murdering Till. The other killer (Bryant) roamed freely amonst us for 39 years after confessing to the horrendous torture and murder. It seems justice is meted out by the Grim Reaper rather slowly.
I was in elementary school when Emmett Till was murdered, so it was the 6 o'clock news for me, and not just history. That retard Carolyn Bryant and her equally troglodyte husband and brother-in-law were typical of Mississippi trash. They are examples of what happens when your grandfather comes home from the Civil War, strips off his grey uniform and gets his sister pregnant. The result: a progeny full of mindless, psychopathic barbarity.
All of the town's 5 lawyers (led by a Princeton grad) defended the killers - for a fraction of their usual fee. Town stores put out jars to collect cash for their defense. The sheriff treated them like heroes. Prosecutors put Milam's wife on the stand, but only asked her name (she didn't have the smug look of the others). The feds refused to get involved. If this were just about a few psychopaths, it wouldn't be history but only forgotten 6 o'clock news.
*WHAT? *Her husbands father did What? Well it don't matter God was watching the whole thing and every man has his day. Better to follow Jesus then man! This has and will always be proven true. God's way is the best way.
@barnfresh60 The video's closing quote is from a response written by I.F. Stone, a "white" journalist. Then, as today, there were people identified as "white" who fought the system of white supremacy. And there were people identified as "black" who supported the system. Now, even the system's leader is identified as "black" (even though he emerged from a womb identified as "white"!?).
It's an old con: the shell game - while suckers watch the colors go round, their pockets are picked clean.
To get a better understanding of why a young Black man from Chicago would think it was a good idea to whistle at a White woman in Mississippi in the 1950's, put "Race and IQ" in the youtube search and click on the the videos posted by ManAgainstTime. He posted a lecture by Dr. J. Philippe Rushton in 6 parts. The Dr. explains that race is more than skin deep.
ATTENTION HUMANS: Google Tom Shelly's niggermania page for irrefutable, well-sourced facts about MOON CRICKETS. He has videos of niggers eating menstrual waste out of cow pussy and pictures of CANNIBAL PICNICS.
Also, google "Black Invention Myths" to learn the TRUTH about niggers' outlandish and not-well-thought-out lies about all of the shit they say they invented.
Those sites will confirm once and for all that niggers are a pathetic race of sub-humans.
thats different OJ possibly stabbed his wife but the two crackers beat the fuck out of emmett for talkin TRASH to white bitch!! theres a big difference and the two asswipes that did it owned it
It clearly shows that quite a loot of white americans living in the south of the US were wankers
the blacks who applauded the verdict of the OJ trial stand just as guilty as those whites who appauded the verdict of the emett till trial!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@bedong77 OJ trial-I'm with Chris Rock on that one. He said, "I'm not sayin he shoulda killed her! I'm sayin I UNDERSTAND!" My b.f. was a tilesetter&carpet installer in LA during the OJ drama. As an "invisible" worker he heard a lot of smack talk from those wealthy homeowners, much of it referring to Nicole's drug-fueled hijinks while he was on the road( to make $ to keep her in style. He was her whole family's meal ticket!) Cheering at the acquittal?b/c Rodney King cops walked.
I see the smiley, but I just don't get the joke - what's the connection to the OJ trial? I'm intrigued. But how could anybody end a flick better than Pops hitting high C??
By the way, I was tempted to spend hours watching the videos on your favorites list - great selection! Thanks for guiding me to YouTube's coolest.
Not a joke in that what happened was funny, a "joke" in that I feel the first infamous OJ trial (of course moreso in retrospect) was fixed to fail also...
Your right about Pop's though - and thanks for checking out and appreciating my varied selections ;^)
Thanks for the clarification. The claim that the OJ trial was also fixed to fail is even more intriguing, so I finally read up on the trial (In the OJ-trial era I was outside the US, where it was NOT the big event it was in the US). I found nothing to suggest that the failure to convict OJ was intentional, or that the prosecution colluded with defense in any way. Am I missing some facts? Can you please expand on your ideas?
It was fixed to fail by OJ's lawyers - and it worked!
Since then numerous books - even one by his neice - has come out showing all the loopholes, lies and hypocrisy. Even some of his pals have fessed up in TV interviews...
Thank the OJ trial for US shows like CSI, Law & Order, Cold Case and more - personally I feel his son was in on it and it wasn't a solo hack job.
Hey you get diff news out there - thats all! All of these DNA shows came out 4 a reason...
Your a little out of the loop ;^D
There's even a book written about Jason, OJ's son. He was the only one visibly upset at the 1st trial despite the "Not Guilty" -- AND he was the 1st one OJ talked to after the Bronco chase...
He even has a record w/ LAPD - also he's a chef (cooking knife involved). Mark Furman was right - OJ was there but I think he's protecting his son who assisted somehow
Oh please I cant believe anyone would dare to compare the OJ trial with the Emmit Till trial? Which are totally different and were in two different eras. The Killers of Emitt Till confessed to killing him and the trial took place in a racial inflicted state, so the likely hood of getting a fair trial was unheard of it. This was always the outcome for any killer of an african american during this era, so what point was made in bringing the OJ trial?
It wasn't fixed> He had the best lawyers F.Lee Bailey was a well established criminal defense lawyer, Then we had Johnny Cocran etc. He had the best of the best. I think he did it though. but it wasn't fixed
"Hell", "hell", "Burning in hell!"...it's somewhat a vent to a powerless thirst for Justice, isn't it? I mean, stated that we cannot do anything to defend the innocents - just take a look at TV news - we do hope in a Divine justice. But...if God wouldn't exist?
This is a great video and I love how it was put together and the parts where you were putting tired o livin were priceless. I hope everyone watches this and gets a great message from it and can see how savage and coward this act was and how they should have got the firing squad and the electric chair at the same time for this! All you racist ass not worth a damn people out there who watch this keep whatever you have to say to yourself and keep it pushin! Nobody here cares what you have to say!
Thats not the reason for killing killers. People who kill other people especially innocent people know that its wrong so showing them it's wrong is pointless. Cold blooded killers should be killed so that it is impossible for them to kill again. So this spares more innocent people from being killed. I would say lock them up in prison for life but that costs 10s of thousands if not 100s of thousands of the states money that could go to help other peoples lives who aren't cold hearted killers.
And who will be the mystical sage that we are to entrust with divining whose lives will yield a fat return on investment? Where do we find this profit prophet?
Does it matter that this process of sparing innocent people has been shown to instead kill innocent people?
Your not making any sense. Obviously if there is some doubt as to whether a person actually committed the crime or not then their live can be spared but if someone admitted to it and it is beyond a shadow of a doubt that they did it then kill them. Dont waste the states and tax payers money by giving them a better life then some people have on the outside.
Total certainty is merely hypothetical. In reality, charges are contested, false confessions are coerced, police lie and falsify, forensics is shoddy or just faked, witnesses are influenced, prosecutors rig juries and hide exculpatory evidence (as in Till case), and judges are biased toward police and prosecutors. The Innocence Project has jurors now wary, so DAs pursue death less and laws now give new sentencing options.
And killing is NOT cost-effective: death cases stay in court 20+ years.
2008 Report of the California Commission on the Fair Administration of Justice:
The additional cost of confining an inmate to death row is $90,000 per year per inmate..the Commission estimates the annual costs of the present (death penalty) system to be $137 million per year.
The cost of a system which imposes a maximum penalty of lifetime incarceration instead of the death penalty would be $11.5 million per year"
This is the US: where there's killing, there's profits.
NJ radio and blog white supremacist Hal Turner is claiming the FBI paid him tens of thousands of dollars for posting savage rants. Their job was to pick up information on the responses of what he was saying and see where that led them."
While I'm certainly not claiming that posts here are the work of FBI-paid professional trolls, this news does serve as a reminder:
SHUT THE FUCK UP BITCH!!! This trial was not at all fair! That WHITE BITCH should have been glad somebody thought that UGLY WHITE BITCH was good enough the whistle at anyway. FUCK YOU AND HER AND THE BITCH ASS HONKEY MUTHAFUCKAS WHO DID IT. AND THE ONES WHO LET THEM GO. I'LL PISS AND SHIT ON THEIR GRAVE IF I KNEW WHERE IT WAS!!!
Fair? So if someone came and grabbed you out of bed and murdered you and everyone in the world knew who it was especially the jury and the judge and they were set free because they claim that nobody was even killed that would be fair? Your out of your fuckin mind!
This was an OUTSTANDING historical presentation. Facts presented, protocol followed to the letter, and in the end JUSTICE PREVAILED. Long Live the South.
I never said either of your two above quoted statements sir. My comments refer strictly to the "historical presentation" - Please go back and re-read my comment. Thank You.
Carolyn Bryant sure did flatter herself. She is NOT a beautiful woman...and to think that Emmett deserved to die for making an immature comment towards her? Makes me cringe. A 14 year old boy is just that; a 14 YEAR OLD! He didn't know any better! This story still makes me angry and it happened 31 years before I was born.
> Carolyn Bryant sure did flatter herself. She is NOT a beautiful woman
Others flattered her too. She was named "prettiest girl" of the beauty contest in both of the high schools she attended. And, not surprisingly, the white Mississippi press (and some Northern press) played up her looks during the trial.
in the end Karma got their asses back. it sickens me that whites back then were just plain evil, and the killers and jury KNOW they did wrong!! they all got what they deserve and may Emmitt Till and his Mother R.I.P cuz justice was served not by the people, but bye God! remember that!
Ps.:Not all white people are some are Just plain IGNORANT
I measure the value of a history lesson by how much it helps me understand myself and my environment.
This video failed to convey it, but the Emmett Till murder case sheds light on more than 'the south back then'. Like a Shakespeare tragedy it is a drama that, though steeped in historical detail, tells a story that transcends time and place. Hopefully, one day, someone will succeed in telling that story.
Keep your eyes on the trial of the policeman made notorious by YouTube, that shot the unarmed Oscar Grant in the back, while Grant laid on his stomach. Could be lots of sham coming from that one...
omg i luved how u did that 2 "tired o livin" nu tuk it out of the mans racist words n included it in his death dat was smart n yea dat woman was very ugly!!!! she was deformed XD
It's a damn shame about what happened to his grave.

He was a state senator when he died..

moBBsta52 1 year ago

When I see these headlines, I could fire back comments:
"I don't prefer tax increases!"
"I need a pick-me-up? I don't need a pick-me-up!"
"My salt intake HAS changed over 50 years! (It's worse)"
Or I could recognize that broad generalizations are common in US discourse, and are not directed personally to me.

The problem is that we as black people have been suffering this kind of injustice for nearly 500yrs. From the same people. Generation after Generation. So we do not need to study these cases as we know we will never get justice from the global white supremacy system. The only way it will chnage is when we decide a life for a life. An that day is coming soon.
nubic 1 year ago
@nubic To clarify: I don't speak for, or address, "black" people. In my post, "we" includes all who want to reclaim the earth from rulers who keep us divided and powerless.
I don't see evidence that we understand the system of white supremacy, and its function in justifying the rulers' plunder of the world. No - I see people all over the world who really believed that giving the system a different face and calling it "black" would change things. Obama is Bush, yet look how protest has faded.
justJunya 1 year ago
@justJunya The rulers who have put the earth in turmoil are white. weather you choose to address it or not. the evidence is cear. They are the ones who have caused and maintain the divisions. The system that we all live in today is a white supremist one. It is to late for "we" as you see it. That time has passed for us. Black people have to look to create their own future for their own people regardless of obama. As we can no longer trust others to give us justice, freedom and equality.
nubic 1 year ago
@nubic Those rulers are all men, ruling a system of male supremacy. Should my "we" exclude all men?
I don't address "black" people because I don't know who they are. The US determines blackness using the one-drop rule. That rule is not only unnatural and senseless, it was made by and for the white supremacy system and thus is invalid.
The idea that "black" people exist, distinct from pure "white" people, is the root fallacy of the white supremacy thesis. Yet it still serves the system well.
justJunya 1 year ago
@nubic Even within your own arguments the enemy is consistant white supremacy.
Thats what we black people (africans) have to deal with everyday of our lives, The root cause.
nubic 1 year ago
@nubic It is both cause and effect. The theory/practice of white supremacy evolved as justification: to rally public support/acceptance for commercial schemes that were vile, risky or costly: slavery, colonialism and imperialism. Johnny won't go die in the jungle/desert just to fatten Rockefeller/Halliburton, so tell him he's fighting to save mom and his sweetie from savages. Neoimperialism replaces "white supremacy" with "freedom/democracy". So the effect is social, while the cause is economic.
justJunya 1 year ago
@nubic Also, just as an aside: regarding root cause, check out what M.L. King Jr. says at the very beginning of part 1 of this video. It's right on the money.
justJunya 1 year ago
@justJunya But even Martin Luther King jr, one our great sons, was killed by the same enemy. Many of ours sons before and after have stood up for justice for all and have been shot down. By who? King also said How long? Not long for you shall reap what you sow"
nubic 1 year ago
Not much has changed today, instead of the lynching by white devils they get the cops to do the killing and the criminal criminal justice system to sanctify it. The laws of nature state that you will reap what you sow.
nubic 1 year ago
@nubic Exactly. The value of studying historical cases like this is that (in hindsight) the techniques of oppression and deception are more open, less sophisticated. If we master those techniques (e.g., this mock-trial trick to pacify and thwart justice), then we should be able to spot them in their modern disguises (e.g., the Obama election - with mock "change" and "hope" - to pacify and thwart growing militancy). Then the laws of nature will compel us to actively resist our destruction.

kathryn8169 1 year ago
@kathryn8169
Yet, one never knows what a reader will personalize and find offensive.

preyivan 1 year ago
@preyivan Not all died: the killers' wives are still alive in Mississippi, refusing to talk about the case. And one of the killers' 5 lawyers, Robert Harvey Henderson, is still alive.
There was a LONG time between the going around and coming around: one of the killers (Milam) died 25 years after murdering Till. The other killer (Bryant) roamed freely amonst us for 39 years after confessing to the horrendous torture and murder. It seems justice is meted out by the Grim Reaper rather slowly.
justJunya 1 year ago
I was in elementary school when Emmett Till was murdered, so it was the 6 o'clock news for me, and not just history. That retard Carolyn Bryant and her equally troglodyte husband and brother-in-law were typical of Mississippi trash. They are examples of what happens when your grandfather comes home from the Civil War, strips off his grey uniform and gets his sister pregnant. The result: a progeny full of mindless, psychopathic barbarity.
Drogyne 1 year ago
@Drogyne If only it were so simple...

It's an old con: the shell game - while suckers watch the colors go round, their pockets are picked clean.

bedong77 2 years ago
I don't get the connection. The key facts in the Emmett Till murder case are that the killers:
1. Confessed, so no doubt about guilt.
2. Stated that the killing was to send a message to an entire people (now called a "hate crime" or "terrorism").
3. Were protected by the official local justice system.
None of these facts hold in the OJ case. So what's the connection?
Hope you can get that stuck '!' key on your keyboard fixed.

By the way, I was tempted to spend hours watching the videos on your favorites list - great selection! Thanks for guiding me to YouTube's coolest.
justJunya 2 years ago
Not a joke in that what happened was funny, a "joke" in that I feel the first infamous OJ trial (of course moreso in retrospect) was fixed to fail also...
Your right about Pop's though - and thanks for checking out and appreciating my varied selections ;^)
bronxbarbiedolla 2 years ago
Thanks for the clarification. The claim that the OJ trial was also fixed to fail is even more intriguing, so I finally read up on the trial (In the OJ-trial era I was outside the US, where it was NOT the big event it was in the US). I found nothing to suggest that the failure to convict OJ was intentional, or that the prosecution colluded with defense in any way. Am I missing some facts? Can you please expand on your ideas?
Thanks!
justJunya 2 years ago
It was fixed to fail by OJ's lawyers - and it worked!
Since then numerous books - even one by his neice - has come out showing all the loopholes, lies and hypocrisy. Even some of his pals have fessed up in TV interviews...
Thank the OJ trial for US shows like CSI, Law & Order, Cold Case and more - personally I feel his son was in on it and it wasn't a solo hack job.
bronxbarbiedolla 2 years ago
Now that you've updated me on some of the details, I think I see what you mean. Thanks for your patience with my ignorance of the OJ trial.
justJunya 2 years ago
Hey you get diff news out there - thats all! All of these DNA shows came out 4 a reason...
Your a little out of the loop ;^D
There's even a book written about Jason, OJ's son. He was the only one visibly upset at the 1st trial despite the "Not Guilty" -- AND he was the 1st one OJ talked to after the Bronco chase...
He even has a record w/ LAPD - also he's a chef (cooking knife involved). Mark Furman was right - OJ was there but I think he's protecting his son who assisted somehow
bronxbarbiedolla 2 years ago
@bronxbarbiedolla

Kill the killers to show that killing is wrong? The logic of that escapes me.
justJunya 2 years ago
Thats not the reason for killing killers. People who kill other people especially innocent people know that its wrong so showing them it's wrong is pointless. Cold blooded killers should be killed so that it is impossible for them to kill again. So this spares more innocent people from being killed. I would say lock them up in prison for life but that costs 10s of thousands if not 100s of thousands of the states money that could go to help other peoples lives who aren't cold hearted killers.
EntrepreneurLoveJr 2 years ago 2
So life is cheap, and killing is cost-effective?
And who will be the mystical sage that we are to entrust with divining whose lives will yield a fat return on investment? Where do we find this profit prophet?
Does it matter that this process of sparing innocent people has been shown to instead kill innocent people?
justJunya 2 years ago
Your not making any sense. Obviously if there is some doubt as to whether a person actually committed the crime or not then their live can be spared but if someone admitted to it and it is beyond a shadow of a doubt that they did it then kill them. Dont waste the states and tax payers money by giving them a better life then some people have on the outside.
EntrepreneurLoveJr 2 years ago
Total certainty is merely hypothetical. In reality, charges are contested, false confessions are coerced, police lie and falsify, forensics is shoddy or just faked, witnesses are influenced, prosecutors rig juries and hide exculpatory evidence (as in Till case), and judges are biased toward police and prosecutors. The Innocence Project has jurors now wary, so DAs pursue death less and laws now give new sentencing options.
And killing is NOT cost-effective: death cases stay in court 20+ years.
justJunya 2 years ago
Aiight
EntrepreneurLoveJr 2 years ago
I agree, However it cost a lot more money to put someone to death then to lock them up for life.
