Why is this beat trash? Not everything Pharrell/Neptunes made needs to be a banger or with crazy synth/drums rhythm. You forgot he's working with another artist, i.e. the singer. If Manami's only comfortable with a mellow two/three chords synth then so be it. I think she sung quite well - not great, but better than most.

This record definitely sounds like it should be on Billboard top 10. Manami' soft range of vocals compliments Pharrell's smooth minor chord changes. The beat is signature Neptunes. The song is another reminder how Pharrell's songwriting skills are purely genius. Manami is going to be a great vocalist. Hopefully not underrated, or overshadowed by over-hyped, over-paid singers who scream on the mic. Pharrell and Manami: Beautiful partnership.
