Who remembers the Sears exclusive (I think it was Sears) red H.I.S.S. Tank? I had a friend that had one and I was SOOOO jealous. I only had the regular black version - I think I still do, in a box in my parent's attic. I can only imagine the black rubber band in all the figures have dried out and snapped by now though.
@carnut015 - Dig those bad boys out of there and replace them rubber bands dude. Let them see the light once more and display those suckers. And about the red H.I.S.S. tank, yeah those were cool. The Sears in my home town was always sold out of 'em but I still got my black one too.
The Red HISS was part of a set that had the COBRA version of the Hawk MMS (Multi-Missile System). My folks still have my little brother's red HISS locked up in the attic somewhere. I wish the Wolverine was part of the 25th Anniversary relaunch. I managed to get the VAMP and the HISS shown in the ad, though.
I always wished I could play on a set like those in the commercials instead of just the carpet and furniture. Take your toys outside and you were guaranteed to lose something. It was always funny how these commercials were directed. The kids would just knock vehicles and figures together to demonstrate how they would engage each other.
When I was a kid I didn't even necessarily realize they were playing on sets. I did, but the gravity of it didn't pop out. It just made me feel like, "wow, I can do some epic shit with that G.I Joe." Only until I played on my bedroom floor / bed did I say, "oh...there's a difference." But I still had a blast.
We used to have battles in the snow, but everythign got buried, and then when spring rolled around, my dad found half my Gi JOe stuff with the lawn mower - CRRRACCKKK
its fun to light g.i.joes with fire crackers you should try it it looks baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad they fly in the air with like 4% damage but not if you use the same joe more than once. heh heh, i learned that the hard way with tunnel rat, hes burried somewhere in my back yard in peices
the g.i.joe vamp is my favorite, mostly cause my dad lets me play with it and im an 11 year old. im also a big 1980's g.i.joe fan nobody likes the 90's crap!!!
Ahah sexiiissmmmm They had to have her rescued by another toy from fear little boys be effeminated by her. I had both of those. Wolverine / Covergirl was hard to get though. I remember that I lost her in a lake and the kids there found her back for me.
I don't think I ever saw the Crimson Guard HISS. Let me guess, it was red instead of black? When I quit collecting the toys, I noticed that they reintroduced older first generation toys as "Tiger Force" or "Viper Force". I forgot what the name is. I did not have a crimson guard figure, so I used the HISS driver as one. Good memories.
It was a recent convention exclusive with a red Baroness, Tomax and Xamot with 6 Crimson Guard Troopers. It in a convenion box with a pin and file cards.
Man, that HISS took OUT that Wolverine.

I still think it's weird that when I was young I got the Wolverine and it came with a figure called Ton Up which was a renamed RocknRoll.

Funny thing about the awesome HISS tank is that all you need is a pistol to take out it's gunner.

The HISS is cool looking but sits way too high and would make a great target. The gunner would be in one bad place because of the open turret.

I had a HISS tank when I was a kid. I always thought it was the coolest of the land vehicles.

I liked the original HISS best though the others weren't bad. Ever see the red Crimson guard HISS?
