I have a Dec 2007 BMW X3 2.0d 150hp in Black, and we have just had an awful winter in England, snow as deep as the stuff on your video.

My car coped really well, nothing seemed to trouble it, and that is on standard Michelin mx4 tyres.

Great car, dont know why people dislike them, I love mine.

Weight is weight man. Next time you're on the highway, pay attention to noises (vibration etc...) coming from the front.

After all, in these latter day cars, the bumper, bonnet, wipers and so one are supposed to be "deformable" for shock-absorbing purposes. If it were an old Buick though.... *lol*

Yes my car is a bit of a wanky part time 4x4, but it has mp3 connectivity and cruise control, and it is well built, and it has got me and my family everywhere I need to go throughout this shitty weather , despite the council failing to grit roads near us.

This is my first 4x4 in 22 years of driving, so I see it from both sides, but dont have a go just cos I have bought a car that is a jack of all trades, I know that Land Rovers piss all over my car in the rough stuff, thats why the brother in law has one, but for what I need , the X3 is fine.

It is a well built , easy to drive and competent car in bad weather, it is not, and never will be, a Camel Trophy contender, but I wish that people would realise that most owners , like myself , buy it for what it is, a compromise, and owning an X3 does not automatically make you hate landy's, and I hope that the same works for Landy owners.

X3 is not considered and " off-road" vehicle. It has never been advertised as such. X3 is great fo it's handling and driving experience. Let see if your Pajero can keep up with this in the track! Besides that, it can take snow and ice like this? I think is just an amazing all-around car, if you want to go off-road, get a Jeep.

Agree. I've had the x5 and the x3 as work cars. I live in Norway (not allowed to go offroading) . But we do have snow conditions from october til may. The x3 is a perfect car for these conditions.
