@carolineleiden Well, as I said, to each their own. For myself, when a piece of music touches my very core, I feel it deeply - I can't control my face, hands, and sometimes I'll tremble while singing, but I don't find myself swaying. Call it what you will, that's just me. Other people sway when music touches them, and that's fine. There is no best way in how you carry yourself while performing a piece of beautiful music.
All that I stated before was only a preferential IMO, nothing more.
rial's not swaying any more than jaroussky. i sway when i sing. it heightens my "synchronisation" with the music, i feel it this way. to people from non-european cultures, the idea of being still while enjoying music would be ridiculous. it's all one. the violinist sways, too. here's to swaying! :)
Amazing... simply beautiful. I love Jaroussky's voice.
One thing I dislike - I really can't stand singers swaying about, as the female singer here seems to have a habit of doing. Not to say a musician shouldn't display any emotion at all, but I like focusing on facial expressions if I want to see emotion. Maybe I'm used to singers who obviously concentrate more on the music (something I really admire) than the sound of their own voice/acting out a mood/etc, but that's how I feel.
I´m very sorry, but I love this expression of a entire body, it is incredible amazing - not only to listen, but also to watch them.))) Maybe, because of " a woman loves with ears, a man - with eyes"....or perhaps, you should learn something about the Stanislawsky- system.
@JaRoWi1647 I should've been clearer. I know of the Stanislavski system as a student of that school of thought. I don't mind watching a musician/actor (again, I'm personally more facially inclined) who appears truly to feel the part played or sung. To impart the emotion in a song that must have been memorized, practiced possibly over a year, it must appear "true" or real. I don't include swaying as looking particularly realistic, but to each their own. Jaroussky, IMO, impresses a far truer feel
@cazonetta Hello Cazonetta, You know, once I have seen Rolando Villazon`s interview. He said, that singer`s instrument is not only throat, but their eyebrows, hands and whole body. They are using their body for better expressing their emotions. Instrument is whole person, not only voice. If you will accept this explanation may be singers habits will not bother you anymore. :)
Liebste Jana, vielen lieben Dank fürs Hochladen! Steigt die Vorfreude auf Bremen noch höher... Ich krieg immer ein Gänsehaut, wenn die beiden zusammen singen.
What a beautiful duet, & I especially love the cornet accompaniment.

3:35 = chills up my spine.
Also, what a fantastic duet between the violin and cornet! Great instincts and formidable technique from both players. Bravo.

Their timing is perfectly in sync with one another, especially considering the enormous liberties with tempo. Their melismas are beautiful as well.

@cazonetta
The "female singer" is Nuria Rial.
