The helmet is called "Pickelhaube" and it was used in the Prussian Army from about 1850. At the end of the 19th century it was also used in other german states.

The point is, that it has NOTHING to do with the Nazis. That symbol is commonly associated with the Germans and the result is that many people think it's a symbol for nazis?!

I'm sure that almost all Germans can laugh about Nazi Jokes and i think that's fine :-)

@Naturbursche1 "deutschland hat so vieles vollbracht was ihr niemals erreichen werdet!" außerdem war hitler österreicher.und es waren ja auch nur ein paar deutsche so. das war doch damals ne ganz andere zeit, man solte endlich darüber hinweg kommen. wir sind immer noch besser als die doofen amis weil die auch krieg führen.blablablablablabla
