I just got my cosplay wig a couple minutes ago. I feel screwed because I thought it would be relatively easy to put it on. I'm digging through all of my stuff to find enough clips now. >_<
sorry it took so long to answer. Usually I do it the same way, only I put a few bobby pins through the wig cap to make sure it doesn't get pulled back by the weight of the wig and a few somewhere near my ears (where nobody can see them) through the wig to help the it stay in place as well. If it's still a problem, you can occasionally pull the bangs down more, keeping a little mirror handy helps c:
@AkuunKyande I also have a Hatsune Miku wig, and i store the pigtails by hanging them. Find a nice place like your closet, where you wont bump into them and get them tangled, and clip them onto something. if you fold them for too long, the hair will warp and wave. its kinda like barbie hair, you leave it in a position for too long it wont go back to how it was before.
i need some help, my hair is about 5" longer than your hair and i cosplay as Rin. i tried your tips (which helped a lot) but still my hair looks bulgy because I have too much hair on my head, i dont want to cut it because i need it for other cosplays but i need some nelp on how to make it look good :)
@akatsukiaddict0827 when you clip your hair, try cliping it not only on the center, but do it in sections around the top and sides of your head, and once the wig cap is on, rub the top of your head so that the hair will spread and flatten. it might look messy once you take it down (and hurt to brush out) but it sould work. also, if you get the back bump, then dont twist the hair, use a hairtie instead. it might work better for you. :)
@pinkbunnypie go to ebay. trust me iv been cosplaying for 6 years and ebay has the best wigs. they are never perfect no matter where you get them from, just make sure the color is right and you can fix the rest yourself.
if they are clip ones, usually I make sure the claws get deep into the wefts, but some people put their hair in buns to give them something to hold onto too.
@yasmineivy1 i dont use wig caps, instead i use fishnet stockings so thant when i clip on the pigtails, i can also clip them through the wig and onto my real scalp. the hold is fabulous!

This should work for very long hair, just tuck it up in there good...and if your hair is REALLY that thick, thin it out, wont take away length and it does wonders ;D
Have you tried going with your natural hair? If so, how do you style it to match the character you're cosplaying? I was just wondering cause I went as Miaka from Fushigi Yugi and Risa Harada from DNAngel and didn't need a wig for them, but for Risa, her hairstyle had that part in her hair that I wasn't really sure how to duplicate and I don't have bangs which made it a little more difficult (same for Miaka -.-;; )
i'm getting my miku wig off of ebay soon :) my friend (a really good sewer) is helping me with my costume! so far we have the sleeves done and the headphones! i just have to get more ribbon and a black pleaded skirt and a light gray collared shirt (doesnt matter if it has sleeves or not we are just oing to cut em off) and also get some black flat shoes and black stockings! :)

@audifazin depends on how thick your hair is. What you can do is divide your hair into sections (4) use bobby pins to secure it, take your wig cap and use a few bobby pins to secure that (mayb 4) then take your wig and put it on then at the top of your ears place one bobby pin and at the base of your neck place some. It works for long hair.
@MegaNaruko It would prbly says if there is a free wig cap if you scrll dwn. If it doesn't say at the description at the bottom, than the dealer probably doesn't give free wig caps. A normal wig cap from ebay is ralative 4-5 $(shipping included)Don't fall for the dealers who sell their wigs for 5 $, but than the shipping is also 5 $! I got mine form amazon for 20 cents plus 4.09 shipping. Most take weeks to ship b/c they;re selling form overseas, and have to ship far.
this would work even for really long hair right? because my hair's down past my hips and I want to cosplay sometime. (if I can get the wig, and outfit, and also before I get my hair cut to my shoulders durring the summer FINALLY)

Geez. They make Miku wigs with clips but my Yoruichi wig has a ponytail of doom dragging me down from behind killing the front of my hair line. And I never notice (if it's put on properly) that it hurts until I take it off. DX

you can either buy really tall boots, or do what I did. I got some cheap black gogo-ish boots and painted the blue parts on and sealed the paint. Then I got some knee high leggings and added the blue strips on the top. I personally like this way a lot better than the uber tall boots, they don't get the skin tight look I want.
CosplayMagic sells vocaloid cosplays(Though it's just Miku, Rin, Len and Luka..) But they're super expensive(around $120). ._.; a good bet for a cheaper(but mass produced[it's likely that it will have flaws]) try Hello Cosplay...=| They have both Rin and Miku(And the other vocaloids, fanmade vocaloids and UTAUloids) and theirs are about $60-90

this would work even for really long hair right? because my hair's down past my hips and I want to cosplay sometime. (if I can get the wig, and outfit, and also before I get my hair cut to my shoulders durring the summer FINALLY)

thanks a bunch ^_^ my hair is about as long as yours and I was like. "how am I gonna get this into my wig cap??" but then I found this so THANK YOU! :D I'll put of a video of my new Miku wig, I love it so much! I got mine with my cosplay outfit from the user Doyea_mj on ebay, Shes an amazing cosplay outfit maker! and the wig is the highest quality out there, it looks exactly like yours

Geez. They make Miku wigs with clips but my Yoruichi wig has a ponytail of doom dragging me down from behind killing the front of my hair line. And I never notice (if it's put on properly) that it hurts until I take it off. DX

you can either buy really tall boots, or do what I did. I got some cheap black gogo-ish boots and painted the blue parts on and sealed the paint. Then I got some knee high leggings and added the blue strips on the top. I personally like this way a lot better than the uber tall boots, they don't get the skin tight look I want.

CosplayMagic sells vocaloid cosplays(Though it's just Miku, Rin, Len and Luka..) But they're super expensive(around $120). ._.; a good bet for a cheaper(but mass produced[it's likely that it will have flaws]) try Hello Cosplay...=| They have both Rin and Miku(And the other vocaloids, fanmade vocaloids and UTAUloids) and theirs are about $60-90
