The bass player needs to buy a tuner. His E is way out. Jens, if you read this, I am at your service here in SF, CA, as a bass player that owns a tuner and uses it. This is one of the best written songs I've ever witnessed. It would be an honor.

He's a lot different than morrisey in his rhythms and lyrics. He is a bit more organic in his ideas and music.Morrisey while fantastic is about pop right now.Plus Jens plays different styles every time he plays.
Morrisey is great and all but Jens is a lot more dynamic i think right now.
I would say around 1000 - Gothenburg concerthall holds 1247 seats - I just love how he changed to the mandolin giving this great song a fresh touch!! Love it
This is an unexpected find. I've loved this song for years, but only now have I decided to look it up on YouTube, and this came up first.
Such an oddly formal setting for this song: Jens decked out in a suit in what looks like the Swedish equivalent of Carnegie Hall, playing the mandolin instead of his usual guitar, backed by soothing female singers and orchestral strings. Plus he substitutes "Pardon me, ma'am" for "God damn."
It's almost like church on Sunday morning, but it still rocks.
it's 5.40 am and I've been up watching Lekman videos on youtube since 3 am. How can I possibly go to sleep. Never knew his live performances were this magical(allthough this one is far from the best one I've seen here)
Thanks

I can't believe no one is making the obvious Magnetic Fields comparison. I like this, but it sounds SO much like MF. See for yourself.

he sounds quite out of tune himself quite a bit - this is almost amazing

What i hate the most of the live songs its that the performer sings it another way.

He's not like Morrissey, he sounds and sings much more like Jonathan Richman, I am sure he is Jonathan R. fan :)

Isn't it just? Mandolins are under-used in contemporary music.

I like how he sings live much better than his studio recordings. He's awesome. Thanx for posting. A fan from Southern california.

I totally agree. Seeing Jens live is a totally different experience. He's more expressive - more personal. I can't wait to see him again.

too bad he had to say "Pardon me ma'am" as opposed to "Goddamn" but besides that, it's quite a good performance.

Given the subject matter of the song, I think this more subdued version suits it really well.
