I was tought to use a solution containing Betadine for irrigation.

  • The admonition against using epinephrine in the extremities is not supported by the evidence. Read the article in Journal of Hand Surgery, Volume 30, Issue 5 , Pages 1061-1067, September 2005.

  • Try not to talk through the nose.

  • very interesting!! thanks for sharing!!

  • very interesting!! thanks for sharing!!

  • two words " Dermabond Adhesive "

  • Every video I watch on medicine, I get more and more interested in persuing my dream to become a doctor.

  • What size needle is used for the microvascular coupling of small vessels (2-3 mm)?, doesnt the needle have to be smaller than an SH?

  • a saw a video by surgical gown. He did not suture through one side of the skin, then the other. Instead, he just passed it through the whole opening. Why's that? ( simple interrupted )

  • @JoGenJG It's faster that way. You should do it only if you are experienced, in that case, a surgeon. If you're a student, you shouldn't, otherwise you'll screw up. Believe me, I know.

  • @dnyalslg Thanks! one more question. How does one know that he is experienced enough to do it?

  • @JoGenJG As a medstudent I cannot say much, but I've seen some interns who tried to do that, they get a nasty suture that are obviously wrong. I mean, the distance from the injury edge to the spot where the suture goes in has to be the same on both sides; if not, you get more tension on one side and the skin wrinkles. When a surgeons make it, they do it rapidly, everything is symmetrical, they don't hesitate when placing suture, and looks good.

  • There is no 1'0 size of suture! The sizes come down lets say from 2 to 1 to 0 then straight to 2'0 (you better double check before you post here)

  • @afm74

0 is 1-0 (you don't need the 1 in front of the 0 since, with suture guage sizes smaller than 1, it is the number of zeroes. ex: 4-0 is actually 0000)

  • Thank you very much, your video really helps a lot.

  • thanks so much!!

  • What type of suture would be used after an apicoectomy?
