I think its crazy how the british pronounce the letter 'H' like in H&M. HAYYCH, makes me laugh everytime. I also didnt realize how funny it was when they said squirrel until a few weeks ago. Ive been trying to find a video on youtube of someone just saying squirrel to show my friends (who have never heard a british person say squirrel)
it doesnt sound weird to me becuz i luv ur accent ^_^ this may be really bad becuz whenever i like a persons accent i always hear what theyre sayin without actually listening to what theyre saying, its like a really forever tyoe spell thing on me. :P
There are several American accents. In New york people have a different accent then people in the south. I have a different accent then them beings I live in Oregon, on the west coast. But if it makes you that happy I am thinking of doing a video response later :)
Those are actually the best words in an American accent...I had never noticed before!
I love the fact that American accents sound so normal on TV or whatever, but as soon as you hear them in the context of real life, they sound so odd...
hahah, I seriously had those words in my head for days and days before recording this!
Heheh, it is funny hearing "live" Americans! I'm used to it now, but when I just got to uni, there were Americans everywhere, for the first few weeks it was a bit odd!
I know what you mean - gets flattenned? - sqau-whirl. inter-net. or-ranj. how the words come out, sound, it is something to think about. like depresst or wretch-ED. why??
aww, I've never seen Degrassi, not sure we got it over here. I've heard a few Canadian youtubers say "aboot" before! PLUS, the way they say "house" is fantastic.
I like the dramatic approach of "Internet", like it demands a hall with good acoustics. "Innernet", it's prodigal cousin, the black sheep, always has been too casual to be part of the inner family circle.
That's hilarious! I was sitting hear watching and listening (I'm from New York) and I thought, "I say inTerNeT!" and then I said it out loud and low and behold..... I said: InnerneT!!! :o)
I love this, and it's so true. I don't really say orange like that, but I'm definitely guilty of the others, especially "innernet" :P
It's always fun, to me, at least, to hear from someone in another country how we sound (in a nice way, of course, which you definitely did)...we say those words all the time and never really think about how they sound to others.
This was so funny...and enlightening. I've never really realized how many letters I run together when I speak, but when you look at the actual spelling it just seems lazy doesn't it :0)
that's hilarious, because i'm from the valley - thusly i have a valley girl accent...and i do not say "ornge"...i say something like aurunge...i also distinctly say the T in inTernet.
also, i had a dream last night about you and yaffle. that we were sitting with our feet on a picnic table just laughing hysterically. great dream. ;-) <3 ewe dear ed. you are a dreamy dreamboat of dreaminess.
oh, and i will only be calling you my squirrel from now on. that is all.

heheh, I don't know! It's funny the way we express words so differently... when written words are just a series of lines!

I know how you feel. I'm American but I love the way some Canadians say sorry, I say it saw-ree but I like the sor-ee pronunciation better.

aww, I love the way Canadians say sorry! I just have a general thing for Canadians though, I blame watching Due South too much as a child!

It's Degrassi that got me. Although I have never heard a Canuck say "aboot" in serious conversation.

Accents are most interesting aren't they, even within a single city you can identify several different local twangs.
