I agree that the Screen Gems is the scariest of these --- but number one should be the Mark VII hammer logo ---- that freaked me out as a kid!

You want to really scare people with the BBC logo, try the Doctor Who variant where it gets swept up by the Time Scoop. Scary BBC music, then creepy Jaws-esque music and then the logo just gets taken! The only way it could be scarier is if they put a Weeping Angel behind the logo. *shivers*

I guess saying Top 11 Scariest logos kind of makes sense because there are 11 logos in the video, but two of them are tied at number 9. They're both diffent logos from the same company and the first of these is my favourite.

You definitely have a few that not too many people mention; BBC and BиD. The sound for BBC reminds me more of something they would play at the end of a sad movie. As far as BиD, I didn't know the legacy behind it, but that is creepy. It's almost like the name is cursed or something. If you want, please feel free to check out my list of scary tv logos. The PBS logo is creepy and so is the Boston WGBH or whatever it is that appears in the old Degrassi vids! I love the United Artists logo even if it is creepy.

I loved the WDHV/WDC logos, but one can see why they'd be scary. But, I think the 90's Warner Bros. logo needs to be known. :P

The best logos are the first WDHV ident (logo in pink lettering on black background), DIC Kid in Bed and BBC (I'm British). They all remind me of my childhood.

5. Is a bit too peaceful to be "scary," but I probably wouldn't've liked it either back when idents actually rattled me because of it being slightly depressing.

4. I didn't much care for this one when I was young, even though it didn't necessarily scare me.

3. This would have more annoyed me than scared me when I was young.

2. This gave me nightmares for a long time. Of course I first saw it when I was 2. :-p

The one from United Artists always creeped me out.

Worldvision looks and sounds like something a tacky televangelist outfit would use.

Viacom's V of Doom makes you instinctively want to duck or jump out of the way...personally I dislike more the wigga-wigga version with the demonic "VIACOM" voice.

Voiceovers in logos are always a bad idea (are they for the blind?) unless the speaker is instantly recognizable and "friendly".

I saw a variant of the VID logo where the mask opened its eyes!!!! It was by far the scariest logo I have ever seen in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BBC is pretty scary too. It makes you feel like someone died while you watched the logo

I agree with you on all these logos except the Dic and Disney ones. I always liked the disney ones and the Dic didn't bother me. I think the Worldvision is scarier then screen gems and viacom. it shouldn't have been 10 but that's just my opinion. ViD is definitly the worst!!!

I would agree with all except the Walt Disney logos. I think you should have put THX or Entertainment in Video in there. THX is pitch black. Music is quiet at the start then music is dramatic at the end and the THX letters appear, ugh! Entertainment in Video has Creepy music, water swishing on full screen at the start as if there is a shark coming to get you and then black comes in at the sides with the triangle and that flashing sound at the end, ugh!

Very true video, except your history of the ВИД (VID) face was wrong. The clay face was not Buddah. It was based on a ceramic mask of the Chinese Philosopher Hou San.
