you guys don't understand, this is why they made the hard solid state drives, also its more compact, not to mention its like picking up a pair of glasses when you handle it,yup its that light i bought a 58gb its amazing
Hmmm...interesting video. I checked into this video's claim..and (Google)lists a number of products meeting Mil-Std 810 requirements. Some of these products do incorporate Intel SSD drives(optional). What also appears is the problem with the firmware "bug"...which forced a recall(Intel SSD failures-Dec. 09). Meanwhile, Hitachi continues to sell HDD rated for 1 terra @ 85 dollars a pop.
it doesn't matter that the HDD got hit a fraction harder then the SSD...the drop to the ice that they both encountered would have been enough. I promise you. Go outside and drop an HDD on the road. I bet you it breaks.
I have dropped a few hard drives in my day. Still work. I even had a WD GP 1tb hdd powered on get dropped (not by me). Picked it up and the OS was still running without a problem and to this date the drive is running fine while passing all long and short DST tests. So dont belive what u see when some tard smacks the shit out of an HDD and taps a SSD. Yes they are better and stronger but they made sure to kill the HDD .
So, now, realistically, what the fuck does this mean for SSDs? That they can get to save on material used to protect the component, so that the outrageous price can be lowered? Yes!
Size doesn't really matter if all you do is install your most demanding programs or games on it. The OS can easily stay on the HDD. Price is a bit too expensive still I agree, I'll get one once the V-series hits 90$ or so.
Us musicians need large sizes for audio work/sample loops/mix downs. Sure a system C drive as a base would work but everything else for us musicians & SSD's are way to high in price to be cost effective.
it doesnt matter if you hit it that hard, IT WILL WORK. no moving parts the end, Unless, if the casing was taken out then it would get it shit kicked out of.
The casing is build to last these these sudden changes in momentum.
this proves an SSD still worked after being hit with a hockey stick and YOU are the stupid one bc what you're saying, wasn't even the point of the video.
no there wasn't, The SSD is not better than a hard drive, Because it can be hit with a hockey stick, You are the the one with a brain of marshmallows and tar because you think that you might have to hit it with a hockey stick, and need to to survive it.
have to agree with 2 things, make them cheaper...its the only reason many people arent uying them yet although they are the way forward. number2. why not hit the the 2nd object as hard as the first?
Typical Fan boy test. Get the pro to hit the SATA HDD which he smashes. Then get the nub to hit the SSD which he hit at about 25% of the power as the other guy. Fucking noobs did they not think people would know . ?
rofl shut ur mouth u moron. Your an intel fanboy. I wasn't saying the SSD is shit i was simply saying they should have been hit at the same pace from the same guy with the same power. Simple !!!

HDD gives you more storage space for less money. I'll agree that SSD is more durable, but it's more expensive for less storage.

only for now. soon, ssd will be the same, if not less expensive

intel will you plz lower your price for your ssd's? you would get alot more customers if your demoing them this way!

Wow, they need to redo this video. It's very inaccurate with un-reproducable results.

cheat! But the HDD got hit harder!!!

The price for SSD is not do'able + The size of the drives arn't really large enough.

this is a kind of fake, you can se that he dosen't hit the solid state drive that hard

You know that if you have "Intel Inside," it has to be awesome!
optomistic408 2 years ago
Well of course the item with no moving parts is going to survive!! And, the hardrive has hit up in the air and hit harder than the SSD

stupid. if you ever need to hit a hard drive with a hockey stick, you shouldn't do it with a solid state drive anyways. This proves nothing.

When ever I hear someone use the word "solid" as a euphemism, it makes me think of someone describing their poo.
Just a thought.
