  • Do not forget to mention Vangelis

  • How is this dubstep?

  • T, u flipped this different sun!!!

  • dubstep track?

  • The tracks from the compilation are selected by Mary Anne Hobbs, a radio DJane who strongly supports the dubstep scene in UK. Though these tracks are not like typical "wobble" dubstep that rocks the floor ;-)

More a selection of listening stuff with dubstep influences.

  • @CharlesBr0ns0n this is UK hip hop

  • Yes, there are strong influences from Hip Hop in the tracks from the collection, too. Imho there are a lot of styles melting. I think the combination of tracks is not meant to be puristic. Of course, Paul White's edit of Tranquill is UK Hip Hop Style, but it fits perfectly in this collection, that is more focussed on actual UK dubstep influences.

  • @CharlesBr0ns0n I don't think it's "listening" only. Sure if that's how you dig it then so be it. But so much of the good stuff is also eminently danceable. So long as the music isn't that far left of centre that it has no rhythm.

  • @teemad Sure! But honestly my experience with audiences / club people was that they usually need it a little "stronger" or "more direct". Of course, it's always cool to experience an open minded crowd that even goes straight to more experimental or avant-garde stuff. Indeed some excellent djs achieve to create those magic moments on the floor by playing this kind of music at the right time. ;)

  • @CharlesBr0ns0n I know what you mean, and I'm not disputing any of it. But it's sad that, especially where I am (Sydney, Australia), far too many people dismiss it as listening music and don't end up coming to any gigs.

To add to that insult, some of the djs who come play far too experimental a set effectively chasing off anyone who might be "turned" on to the music.

Oh well, one can only hope that there is a happy middle ground that each side will be happy to come to eventually. ;)

    Peace.

  • @dcbarth

    no.

    evil track!

  • this is soooo amazing

  • indeed :) the whole compilation is very recommendable, if you like this kind of dubstep!
