  • What can I say that hasn't already been stated so I will say it again. These guys were definitely

one of the best bands ever to emerge from the 80's. I have never quit listening to them and never will. Either you got turned on to them or you missed the boat. I guess there name may sum it up best,....they were always there but like a chameleon they were never noticed! Thanks for all the post of one of the best.SaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaWeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

  • Education. Whats that French phrase for the more things change, the more they stay the same again?

  • Middleton boys are we!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of the best bands ever

  • I think that the Chameleons are just as fresh as the the were back in the day. I am not sure I would have made it through high school, the mid 80's, and late teen age years quite the same without the Chameleons. Great music, interesting lyrics, and generally enjoyable. Does anyone know why these guys were not more popular? This has always eluded me. Thanks for posting this video and song as it brought a much needed to a dull day.

  • @fredtparks Because the general public has shit taste in music! lol It's why Justin Bieber and the Black-Eyed Peas are popular and brilliant bands like the Chameleons are not.

  • como me ha llegado a gustar está canción!!!!!!!!!!

  • "I thought of stories they told us long ago

Of how the world was a perfume garden"

  • a swan song!!

  • Beck and call

It didn't seem to matter at all

    Beck and call

You told us how to conquer it all

    Beck and call

These children have nothing at all

  • i thought the Chameleons were fantastic,& yes very underrated, I Bozz ,a guitar /keybord player of that time played some venues shown on this vid.we were called OPTION, by the press & media we were all classed as just another Joy Division band;sadly there propergander also hit the Chams ;it shows me how much ignorence there was & still is around media,2 quote Joe Strummer@bellvue m/c,1977(here we are on tv, what dose it mean to me, what dose it mean to you, FUCK ALL

  • @zzbozz do you have any songs online?

  • i was in the army in holland and shit alove this music

  • its criminal how the chameleons hardly get a mention when it comes to manchester bands ? been a fan since 1981 & no other band comes close

  • @purehead I'm with you on that pal

  • This song didn't exist for probably another 4 years afterwards it brings memories of an older female friend, a huge garden of roses and a weird and very polished concrete drainage system which people would ride like a slide. Maybe that sounds a bit Man-Femm but I was with a female I adored and was a bit visual-angelic because that day she chose t dress up. and between her summer dress and natural beauty somewhat mirrors the tones of this song and lyrics

  • AWESOME..

  • One of my all time favourites from an album that was full to the brim with fantastic music and songs. how the bloody hell this group never made it is a complete mystery! they were simply years ahead of their time and brilliant.

  • Why only England Bands make good song? The Cure,The Chameleons UK,Siouxsie And Banshees,Depeche Mode,Bauhaus etc.

  • Too much good in the negativ to have a commercial way...I oonly have one album'strange times'...Very good...

  • 0:47 what a cool-looking guitar

  • Thank you for making this vid:*****it's fab!

  • This is absolutely my favourite Chameleons song (I actually prefer the Peel Session version but, regardless, it's a cracking tune!).

  • on est ravi de l'apprendre...

On s'en doute, sinon vous n'écouteriez pas.

N'écrivez pour ne rien dire à la fin.

  • The shimmer of those guitars, the reverb of the vocals and drums, like a fantastic dream. Very special.

  • Perfect!!

One of the great pioneers of shoegaze.

  • Greatest band in the world...

  • I love this"

  • im going to see them wed night in baltimore

  • FAC251 12th June

  • I'm 400 km away from wife and baby for my job and hearing this reminds me their incredible live performance in Paris back in decembre 2001 when they played it..I'll NEVER FORGET..

  • you are deaf .Interpol has a very jangly guitar sound -this is studio blown up with air sound.Lotta echo effects.Dishonest n my book.Interpol is a joy div sound but they still have personality of their own.

  • @lovesGenet

um no I'm right and you are deaf

  • this song is just proof that Interpol got their sound from this band

  • a scandal that these guys got so overlooked, still go back to them time and time again, nothing today comes close.

  • 5 STARS..

  • absolutely biblical

  • canciones que llegan al alma

  • really like the comment below...let those that seek find this treasure. I could not agree more, best left where it belongs, in the minds of people who appreciate it for what it is, ultimately good.

  • Amazing song.... just amazing...

  • The first Chameleons track I ever heard a lifetime ago. A mate lent me a tape and one play later , I bought the album, the T shirt and the key to my soul. The best band ever and never honoured at the time .

  • buenissssssssssimos

  • Every time I see the title, Richard Burton comes to mind.

  • Saw them live in Paris back in 2001 over 200 people..almost a private live in a magic spot..it lasted 2h30 ..i'll can't forget and never will..I still have the set list that was given to me at the end of the live ...

  • Just found these songs from my favorite band. Thanks Chameleons UK! Love you guys.

  • you know that's not the real name of the band? I don't think US fans were mean't refer to em as that. Funny, on Spotity if you type in Mono, you get 4 or so bands melded in the same band track listing

  • I remember them without the "UK" attached, but what is the real name of the band, just for shits and giggles?

  • The Chameleons, my point being that the suffix UK was added for bland legal reasons only in the US. Dont think true US fans were ever meant to refer to them litterally as The Chameleons UK!?

  • Chameleons: The pride of Manchester. Let's tip some pints of Boddingtons and play this tune again. What an impact this song has had on my days. Thanks Mark. I'll see you in Strangeways !!

  • the best song by the chameleons for me.

  • I still remember the first time I listened to this beauty...it was on a New Year's Eve which is now memorable because of this song.

This might be their very best indeed.

  • This song is such a huge part of my past too. Dark. Intense. Moody. Brilliant.

  • Whenever I listen to this, I think of my past

  • You and me both .. what a fantastic comment,i also think this, try listening to this on a hot night, watching the sun go down ... my idea of heaven .. try it,there is nothing more peaceful .... bliss

  • Las guitarras mas elegantes de los 80´s. La mejor banda pop de todos los tiempos...quizas.

  • My favorite band of all time. It's great to view all theses videos. I consider myself very fortunate to see the band back in '87 or '88 in Detroit at St. Andrews Hall. (Mighty Lemon drops warmed up and they put on a very energetic show) What a special show. You really know when songs are great when they send shivers up and down your spine, their music does it to me this day.

  • Mine too, I saw them in '87 in Long Beach, CA. Same lineup. Anybody love 'In Shreds" as much as me?

  • No, I love it more...

  • That must be a freakin' lot!! yeah!!!!

  • beautiful song!

  • This song takes me back to a time when I was "gonna live forever". Geez the things I put in my body back then. Surprising I'm still here to talk about it - and healthy on top of it. Anyone in L.A. remember hearing this song at the Meatrack in the 90's?

  • Dude, I'm here in L.A. What is Meatrack?

  • it was a sex club.

  • Say whaaaaaat?

  • Wow!!! The hairs on the back of my neck have just all stood up....

Watching this, I'm an innocent 18 yr old lad in Manchester again. The Boardwalk, The Witchwood, The Conty Club...

    Happy, happy days.

    Thanks for posting.

  • One of my favorite songs

  • one of mine too..x

  • Mine too

  • @tonyskinkis i know about you man rock on

  • Freaking awesome song...

  • i love this song

  • Stay TUned! THe Chameleons the best in the Music

  • Comment removed

  • were the hell did you get the tv clips

  • Had them since 1991, lad from Gorton gave me them.

  • Meant SOTB obviously.

  • Huh? WDAMB is the second album. Script from the Bridge is the first.

  • I corrected my mistake.

  • @GriefTourist

    WDAMB WAS the second album!!!

  • @blahdelablah

Or rather, still is the second album.

  • @GriefTourist What does anything Mean? Basically is the second album, you mean Script of the Bridge?

  • I'm as big a music snob as they get, but I must say this song is without a doubt one the greatest ever. Swirling....wonderful....

  • An absolute sublime guitar melody from Reg and Dave!

This track always makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.

Thanks for posting, from a lifelong fan :o)
