@Cresture Main reason why i ranted against the heatseakers is because they don't help in aiding/supporting ground. It's best to learn how to use the cannon and rocket combo because you have advantage over both land and air. And yes, Flares DO render heatseakers useless, that's what the Flares are made for, to COUNTER heatseaking missles. If a jet fires two missles and you launch your flares, ONE missle may hit, but that is not enought to disable, it lowers you to 59% percent health.

You can't use heat seekers no more man, cause everyone has flares now so it's a kind of waste to have them equiped so I like to use the guided missile to grab attention from the vehicles on the ground and help the guys on the ground.
@lkfczzw Actually SOFLAM can lock onto you along with any other guided missiles, and you're fucked because of how many people are shooting at you at once. Say you're getting locked onto by a Jet, you use flares or an ECM Jammer and then another missile INSTANTLY gets fired at you, no lock on sound to try and avoid being shot at. What do you do? You can't do anything but try and spin around and pray to god it doesn't hit you, which it'll inevitably do because you already used defense...
@NascarAlley are you aiming in front of the jet? you have to pull a lead on him- aiming stright at the jet will result in your bullets falling way behind your target. try aiming in front of it :-)
i wish people would just realize that if both pilots have air radar and you end up doing the circle dance you should just call a truce and go rack up the ton of ground kills you miss out on dancing.
@TheMproductions the trick is its all about the angle of attack, and finding the right time to start firing your rockets to get most if not all of them to hit. if u start firing from to far away a lot of your rockets are going to miss. it just takes practice, you'll get the hang of it and when you do you will find out how great they are. plus u can use them in a dogfight unlike guided rockets

Good tips, but i'd prefer using cannon instead. Basic furball tactics are good too. Using turnfight is good if your not into middle of the map. Mainly your taking the FOE away killing tanks, and secondly you have your other jet in the air too to fill that flying coffing with some holes.
You should also use altitude as an advantage even theres no ENERGY play with the vehicles. As you might know, altitude is same as speed and energy to win the fight.
the heatseaker wil give away your position as the target knows your locking on to him! so he knows your on his six and he wil, if he is smart give you a hard time to give you that lock on!
try to switch them on if you are sure you are gonna get a good lock on, when he just deployed his flares and your on his six.
@BlazinBlood If you were a true king, you would realise that not all pilots stay in a line. If the pilot is going relatively straight and is smart, and you start using MG, they will start to do sharp turns to ensure you can't hit them. Heatseekers not only makes other pilots panic, but enable you to deal extra dmg.

@BlazinBlood It's much easier to kill using heat seekers since once you get a lock, you don't have to do anything other than press 'fire'. Even if the other guy uses deploys flares, it takes a bit longer to reload the flares than to get a lock on and fire another heat seeker.
Machine guns are mostly used AFTER the jet has been disabled, so you can get an easy kill.
If your Game style in jets is to avoid the chase then why do you need a air radar? you have enough time to spin around and find them, use something helpful like maintenance or stealth. Like, Fav and Subscribe!

i really hope you aren't serious in this vid, just use your .30 mil canon for the jets and you'll get the destroy alot quicker. also if the helo is your priority then other decent pilots have a clean shot at you the entire time your chasing after it.
theys days people who play with jets and who really are good not noobs they wait that you bail from chase circle moment and attack you like a wolf with hunger. ( around 60hours with jet )
your tips will only work on for unexperienced pilots, i would chase you without problem with the air radar, and then if you make any mistake, i'd be on your six and kill you. Heat seakers are annoying but not effective.

I got Air Radar, IR Flares and Guided missiles. At the moment my perfect combination, I never get shot down (maybe 1 time a game max, or I just accidentaly hit a light pole). The most important thing you need to learn is to play with your speed to turn faster your plane and also the right turning corner. If you can do that you are a master in flying.
@Steviedatv guided missiles are super weak... you have to come from max distance to get a hit and hope your mg can finish them off... rocket pods are much better... 1 round of pods is a garenteed disable and at max distance you can reload before you make your flyby

And like the javeline it's unable to hit armored vehicules on water. I get a bunch of spot bonus just from random spots from the sky
When I disengage a chase I go below radar,use the afterburner and shoot out chaff (ECM) to blind their radar then attack from another angle. That's unless he's good then he's chasing you regardless.
If you acted like this against me I'd have been on your tail with cannons blazing no noob seekers.

Anyone know how to break out of a circle lock? I know the optimal turning speed but no matter how tightly I turn, the enemy easily shoots me down in a few seconds. This only happens with the best pilots. It's impossible to get them off your tail. Perhaps I should try disengaging. I use Air radar, flares, and heat seekers.
@blitzwaffe use this stealth,extinguisher and rocket pods or guided missiles for ground control after u win the 1vs1 or 1vs2 or 2vs2 dog fight, most of the pros use the primary weapon(machine gun) to win dog fights. if u wanna turn hit the breaks and then at half of the turn that depending on the situation use either after burner or just normal or even let the plane stabilize the speed
The problem is that only the SU-25 Frogfoot and the A-10 Thunderbolt has cannons that are truly effective against tanks. The F/A-18 Super Hornet and the SU-35BM Flanker E however has cannons that are mostly effective against aircraft and does minor damage against tanks. The solution is to use rocket pods, but it replaces heat seeking missiles which are important for dogfights.
@blitzwaffe If you ask me, heat seekers are useless against seasoned pilots, even with flares already used, there are maneuvers that can get rid of the missiles after you, in my opinion your cannon is your best weapon in dog fighting and for helicopter, and the rockets/guided missile is to help on the ground enemy units and for that pesky AA!!

i would argue to go after higher priority targets. in my perspective, a helicopter always comes second, and a jet first. i rather take the jets out before engaging choppers and tanks.
but if a chopper is really easy to take out.. i would take that chopper out first.
another thing i would argue going in to a chase rather then stepping out is, when i got a tailer i would never stop searching him till he's death. so stepping out while i'm flying give me the chance tot take you out.
Missiles? Who needs ATA missiles! Main jet machinegun is enough to deal with jets in no time, and rocket pods > ground + choppers, while air radar keeps you aware of any jets trying to sneak up on you.
everyone's got flares anyway so its just a waste of time.
anyone with decent skill can score kills easily with the cannon, also air-to-ground missiles are very handy, since it's very likely that some kind sould is laser painting easy kills for you.
heat seekers are great against helis though. I took out a few helis using a jet. Its great. some people dont know how to use flares properly and deploy them too early, that way you can lock on and get the kill
Your not as good as you thing, no offence. I have all the unlocks, but what I recommend using is just the basic gun on your jet to kill other jets and use heat-seekers against helicopters. When you are shooting at a jet and it's go straight up or sideways like this - | ( - = you and | =enemy) then aim just above their cockpit and tare their plane apart.
if you need missiles to take out enemy aircraft then you're probably the wrong person to take advices from. the only time you should disengage is if you've been locked on and fired at, you released flares and now they are locking on again, before flares have been reloaded.
that being said, I'm playing on the PC with a joystick, it might be a different story on the consoles, but then again it's your fault for buying BF3 for a console.
i laugh at any pilot trying to lock me with heatseekers and know right then that they dont have a chance. i might even leave another jet or heli alone to focus on the ground but if you try and lock me you are going down. the only way heatseekers are even a remote threat is from a heli. all they do is tell someone to fly erratically when you can just get right on someone with the cannon without any warning. this also does very little to help the team.
This is the worst tutorial I've ever seen. You have no idea what you are talking about and you are a terrible pilot. Please stay out of jets for the sake of your team.
A lot of your points in disengaging aren't necessarily a bad idea for you, but your wingman would generally benefit from you being in the area as a threat at all times, rather than leaving combat for periods of time. I realize not everyone needs the hep but... It happens...
I have a nice tip if you got somone on your tail: Fly directly into the sunlight. It's a good chance they'll lose you since they can't see a damn thing. And yeah, as someone mentioned before; hard breaking is good. Slow down and turn sharp. Then just hope for someone to fence him away since you will be trying to loose him at your main base.. hopefully. I rescued alot of my fellow Jets by shooting down their chasers.
heat seekers suck ass. everyone got flares. Just simple gun them down with the machine gun. thats the way to go. Its faster, it's save and I chase someone for 10sec and then he's gone.
should experiment on hard braking. Not many ppl knows about it. Plus your best bet when ur sneaking onto a jet is to use the machine gun. Take em out before they realize someone is engaging them.
A good pilot wouldnt even bother with heat seekers and would set up a good angle to kill him in one quick machine gun burst. Currently im at 1500 jet kills and my chases last about 20 seconds.for an average pilot.
Nice vid, but a video on how to get out of a jet on your tail, or how to get out of the endless looping you get into without getting mowed down would be even more appreciated =)

@BlazinBlood It's much easier to kill using heat seekers since once you get a lock, you don't have to do anything other than press 'fire'. Even if the other guy uses deploys flares, it takes a bit longer to reload the flares than to get a lock on and fire another heat seeker.
Machine guns are mostly used AFTER the jet has been disabled, so you can get an easy kill.

your tips will only work on for unexperienced pilots, i would chase you without problem with the air radar, and then if you make any mistake, i'd be on your six and kill you. Heat seakers are annoying but not effective.

I got Air Radar, IR Flares and Guided missiles. At the moment my perfect combination, I never get shot down (maybe 1 time a game max, or I just accidentaly hit a light pole). The most important thing you need to learn is to play with your speed to turn faster your plane and also the right turning corner. If you can do that you are a master in flying.

@Steviedatv guided missiles are super weak... you have to come from max distance to get a hit and hope your mg can finish them off... rocket pods are much better... 1 round of pods is a garenteed disable and at max distance you can reload before you make your flyby

@Tj1056 Yeh idd, when I posted the previous comment I only had guided for the first day, now I've tried to kill people with it, I can only take out jeeps.... And like the javeline it's unable to hit armored vehicules on water. But I think I'm gona keep use the guided because I maybe dogfight like one of the best but...my groundattack is horrible, 50% of hitting an obstacle... and I can't see the targets from far away unless they tag it. Or ill just have to buy a HD tv :D

I get a bunch of spot bonus just from random spots from the sky

When I disengage a chase I go below radar,use the afterburner and shoot out chaff (ECM) to blind their radar then attack from another angle. That's unless he's good then he's chasing you regardless.

Anyone know how to break out of a circle lock? I know the optimal turning speed but no matter how tightly I turn, the enemy easily shoots me down in a few seconds. This only happens with the best pilots. It's impossible to get them off your tail. Perhaps I should try disengaging. I use Air radar, flares, and heat seekers.

The problem is that only the SU-25 Frogfoot and the A-10 Thunderbolt has cannons that are truly effective against tanks. The F/A-18 Super Hornet and the SU-35BM Flanker E however has cannons that are mostly effective against aircraft and does minor damage against tanks. The solution is to use rocket pods, but it replaces heat seeking missiles which are important for dogfights.

@blitzwaffe If you ask me, heat seekers are useless against seasoned pilots, even with flares already used, there are maneuvers that can get rid of the missiles after you, in my opinion your cannon is your best weapon in dog fighting and for helicopter, and the rockets/guided missile is to help on the ground enemy units and for that pesky AA!!

If the jets are not much of threat to you, take the tanks out of the ground and give a major help to your friendly on the ground.
Then take the chopper out of the sky....easy target, good points
last take the jets out....
I think if you have a radar, then you clearly know if jets are threat to you or no...so go for the fucking tanks...and get loads of points
(but if jets are threat to you, then take the jets out first)

i would argue to go after higher priority targets. in my perspective, a helicopter always comes second, and a jet first. i rather take the jets out before engaging choppers and tanks.
but if a chopper is really easy to take out.. i would take that chopper out first.
another thing i would argue going in to a chase rather then stepping out is, when i got a tailer i would never stop searching him till he's death. so stepping out while i'm flying give me the chance tot take you out.

Missiles? Who needs ATA missiles! Main jet machinegun is enough to deal with jets in no time, and rocket pods > ground + choppers, while air radar keeps you aware of any jets trying to sneak up on you.

heat seekers are great against helis though. I took out a few helis using a jet. Its great. some people dont know how to use flares properly and deploy them too early, that way you can lock on and get the kill

Your not as good as you thing, no offence. I have all the unlocks, but what I recommend using is just the basic gun on your jet to kill other jets and use heat-seekers against helicopters. When you are shooting at a jet and it's go straight up or sideways like this - | ( - = you and | =enemy) then aim just above their cockpit and tare their plane apart.

if you need missiles to take out enemy aircraft then you're probably the wrong person to take advices from. the only time you should disengage is if you've been locked on and fired at, you released flares and now they are locking on again, before flares have been reloaded.
that being said, I'm playing on the PC with a joystick, it might be a different story on the consoles, but then again it's your fault for buying BF3 for a console.

i laugh at any pilot trying to lock me with heatseekers and know right then that they dont have a chance. i might even leave another jet or heli alone to focus on the ground but if you try and lock me you are going down. the only way heatseekers are even a remote threat is from a heli. all they do is tell someone to fly erratically when you can just get right on someone with the cannon without any warning. this also does very little to help the team.

A lot of your points in disengaging aren't necessarily a bad idea for you, but your wingman would generally benefit from you being in the area as a threat at all times, rather than leaving combat for periods of time. I realize not everyone needs the hep but... It happens...

I have a nice tip if you got somone on your tail: Fly directly into the sunlight. It's a good chance they'll lose you since they can't see a damn thing. And yeah, as someone mentioned before; hard breaking is good. Slow down and turn sharp. Then just hope for someone to fence him away since you will be trying to loose him at your main base.. hopefully. I rescued alot of my fellow Jets by shooting down their chasers.

should experiment on hard braking. Not many ppl knows about it. Plus your best bet when ur sneaking onto a jet is to use the machine gun. Take em out before they realize someone is engaging them.

A good pilot wouldnt even bother with heat seekers and would set up a good angle to kill him in one quick machine gun burst. Currently im at 1500 jet kills and my chases last about 20 seconds.for an average pilot.
